Overview

Focusrite has been a force behind some of the most high-end recording systems used in the world's top studios, and now they've comprised an entire studio bundle for your Mac or PC. The Scarlett Studio bundle includes a Scarlett 2i2 USB audio interface, Scarlett CM25 studio condenser mic, and a pair of Scarlett HP60 reference headphones.

Scarlett 2i2 Audio Interface
The audio interface is the key to making professional recording. At the heart of Scarlett Studio is the Scarlett 2i2. This interface connects to your Mac or PC via the USB port and provides 2-inputs and 2-outputs to your music software. Scarlett 2i2 delivers the superb quality and legendary Focusrite sound that audio industry professionals have relied on for decades. Plug your instrument - bass, guitar, keyboard, synth, you name it - and the included studio microphone straight into the front panel and 2i2 brings them into your computer at the highest possible quality. You can record, edit and mix until you have just the sound you want, with the best possible playback quality so you can hear exactly what you're doing.

Studio-quality microphone and headphones
Scarlett Studio really does give you everything you need to start recording. There's a studio condenser microphone, the CM25, that's specially designed to catch the life and soul of your vocals and acoustic instruments. Clean, smooth and sensitive, it captures every nuance. If you can hear it, you can record it. There's even a high-quality, low-noise microphone cable included, to connect the CM25 to the Scarlett 2i2.

The included HP60 studio monitor headphones tell it like it is. Accuracy is number one when it comes to monitoring. Unlike many headphones that flatter the sound, making it sound better than it really is, the HP60s give you a clear and accurate impression of exactly how your music sounds, so you can get it just the way you want it. And when you play it back elsewhere, it'll sound great.

Professional recording software
Scarlett Studio includes all the software you need to get you going straight away. Cubase LE 6 is powerful music production software for recording and mixing. Focusrite Scarlett plug-ins are a set of essential tools for polishing your mix, like compression to tighten up that bass or keep your vocals smooth and even; equalisers to bring out the character in your sound, gating to help remove noises, and reverb to give your music the space it needs. The Novation Bass Station is a software synthesizer that you can use to add additional bass or melody sounds to your music. Because it is a synth you can create totally new sounds that no one has ever heard before, or recreate classic sounds. There is also a sample pack from Loopmasters to add drum loops or sound effects to your track.

Note: Includes the Focusrite Red 2 and Red 3 Plug-In Suite (AAX/AU/VST) upon registration of interface. Accurately modeled on the classic Red 2 EQ and Red 3 Compressor, the Red plug-ins let you exploit the sound of the hardware originals, conveniently from within Pro Tools (10 and above) and other audio software.

        Comments about Focusrite Scarlett Studio:

I would definitely recommend this product. First of all, the price is amazing for how much is included. Usually, some decent software can be pretty expensive, and can cost about the price of everything that is included in this set. The microphone has a decent and clear sound, and Cubase, the software, is a pretty neat and easy tool to get a grasp on (as a beginner). Also, Cubase may take a little while to download, but it is definitely worth the wait. To anybody who is thinking of buying this product, you will not regret it.

The software that is required for this is impossible to install. First, you have to download it from a site that literally took 40 minutes with my 25meg bandwidth. Next, you have to register on two different websites. Then, the explicit instructions DO NOT match reality at all.

I've spent over 3 hours trying to get this software even installed and it isn't worth it. There is not live customer service so you have to wait hours for someone to respond to emails, and they simply direct you to the wrong directions.

              I'm returning this.

              Best deal for $250

              By Logan Casey-Wood

              from Urbana, OH

              Comments about Focusrite Scarlett Studio:

Not going to lie, all the software and add-ons Cubase does take some time to install but once installed you will no regret the wait. The audio interface is a charm, one of the best I have ever used, really clean audio. The mic is standard but has good quality if your rapping or singing, no fuzz or feedback. The headphones are okay but they could use a higher volume output, other than that they are very useful. I would recommend buying a nice mic stand and a double pop filter as well, just clear up your vocals a bit. Buy yourself a set KRK Rokit Powered 5" Generation 3 studio monitors and you will have yourself a complete simple recording setup. Cubase is very confusing to use at first by the way, go to youtube and watch "Cubase 6 Tutorial Chapters 1-6 and that will help you with all the basics.

              Bang for your buck

              By Kwaku Mensah

              Comments about Focusrite Scarlett Studio:

If you're just getting into recording, this package is perfect for you. It comes with Cubase (I think LE6 or something), but you can use the interface with any DAW. I've recorded vocals that sound great through the interface and with the microphone. The headphones are also alright for mixing, but you might wanna upgrade to better headphones and even monitors. Also, the microphone does its job if you mix properly, but just like with the headphones, you'll probably wanna upgrade to a better one. These "upgrades" aren't to say that the headphones/microphone aren't good, but they're pretty basic if you're just getting into recording or you're not looking for a top-notch professional sound.

              cubase le6 stinks

              By Steven Rogers

              from Holly Pond Alabama

              Comments about Focusrite Scarlett Studio:

I purchased the product but never managed to navigate through the jungle of installing Cubase LE6. There is a video to help you that is 36 minutes and the first 20 or 22 minutes are just about installing the product. I finally installed Cubase and created a path for the Ybt files to connect to the Focusrite files. This caused a run-time error. I repeatedly uninstalled and reinstalled everything and things continued to happen: runtime error, scrolling through the Ybt files and locking the computer up. I had to get a new license number with each new installation. I finally did a system restore on my computer and took the bundle back to Guitar Center. Apparently I ain't the only person with Cubase LE6 problems. Earphones were nice.

Don't be fooled by the price

              By Nathan Creighton

              from Austin, Tx

              Comments about Focusrite Scarlett Studio:

I bought this in hopes to record some vocals over my own tracks for I've been producing my own music for almost a decade but never could afford an audio interface let alone a decent mic, but I went to my local guitar center after searching for months for a little studio bundle on my really tight budget and came across this, I was extremely skeptical due to the very low cost, although I will say it is a nightmare to set up and get running, you have to download 7 different plugins from the website after registering it, but after that it is an incredible audio interface, the sound is incredible, I've used audio interfaces at my friends houses before and this can go toe to toe with the big boys, the head phones are good but noting special, now the mic on the other hand isn't bad at all, it's really good if you're singing or rapping, but if you're an avid screamer like me and you're looking to scream or shout then this bundle isn't for you, but the audio interface is something I'd recommend buying separately, then buy a A shure sm58 for screaming and akg 220 for cleans if you're doing metal, all and all it's amazing for anything but metal and I'd recommend it
