I have 3
I love this thing. The compressor rocks, powerful and tight, the preamp sounds clear and crisp, and its a nice looking piece of gear! Us it on some powerful vocals, or for mixing down your tracks. Focusrite has always made good stuff, and continues thier reputation! The price is easy also, so why not? Try it!

Quality Preamp
This is a pretty nice sounding unit from Focusrite. Keep in mind that this product is from their "Platinum" series, not their high-end units. That being said, the Class A mic pre in this unit sounds very good - transparent with low noise. The VU meter is a nice touch, but the back-lighting and color make it difficult to read - it looks cooler than it is. If you need to add a pre to your rack, take a listen to this one before spending too much on something else.

Great Unit
I think this unit looks nice, with it's brushed steel face and light up blue VU meter. It's very solidly built and just feels great to the touch. The knobs are all rubberized so they feel good. The compressor works great for vocals...I squash them pretty good and can't hear the compressor. Much better than any built-in preamp with the budget firewire input boxes. My vocals improved greatly with this unit. I must admit that the VU meter is pretty hard to read because it's so dark, even when lit, but I use my metering on my DAW and haven't had any issues yet.

This is an excellent investment for any studio. Quality sound if you know how to use it.

Quality in sound...
I was very close to buying a Trakmaster pro channel strip. It has everyting you would need in one rack slot. It sounds amazing, but the only reason I didn't get one is that I hate the knobs. I mean this unit is ugly, the knobs are hard to use, there are little red lights on the button that you wonder if they would last a week. Also the V.U. meter is dark purple which makes it hard to read. So if you don't care about the cosmetics of the unit, it does have a great sound.
