Designed for the singer/songwriter, the SA220 Solo Performance System is a powerful, yet lightweight, system-providing exceptional sound quality and coverage in a wide variety of venues. 220 watts of clean, lightweight power drive a line array of six custom high-excursion speakers and a soft-dome tweeter. This unique combination delivers incredibly full sound, ultra-wide dispersion, and deeper sonic penetration than the common speaker cabinet. Better yet, the enhanced bass response of the custom-designed speakers means there's no need for a subwoofer.

With the SA220 system, the performer and audience hear exactly the same sound, meaning there's no need for separate wedge monitors or a combo amp backline. The SA220 is voiced for the singer/songwriter, acoustic instruments and vocals are projected with superb depth and clarity.

The ultimate in portability

The SA220 weighs only 25 lb., ships complete with a padded bag equipped with wheels, and includes a rugged speaker stand. Set up takes less than a minute, with only one trip to the car. Plus full-digital universal power means that its amplification system is ready to travel anywhere in the world (compatible with international power systems).

Features that performing musicians demand

Fishman didn't make the SA220 this portable by scaling back on features or tone. It's also equipped with two mic/instrument channels featuring high-quality preamps, each with 3-band EQ, phantom power, built-in reverb, effects loop, and feedback-fighting notch filter, and phase controls. In fact, Fishman included all of the prized elements of the Loudbox family amps and added a unique monitor feature designed to revolutionize an acoustic duo's ability to hear each other on stage.

We purchased the fishman for my daughter's graduation gift. She wanted a car, we thought this was better. We were right! She has done 2 outdoor events with it so far. It's sound is amazing! I have no idea how it puts out so much high quality sound from such a little package. Each event had around 200 people spaced back around 100 feet fromt the unit. The sound from the back was still full and wide. Can't praise this unit enough at this point.

Avoid getting this solo Pa system! You will waste your money. I am a musician that plays about 4 - 6 shows a week. Each show being about 2 - 4hour sets. I make my living being a musician and I depend on my equipment to work. The system has been such a headache. After about six months of using this system it started to crack on both channel 1 & 2. Then the PA would randomly completely shut off. In the middle of a song of course. Very embarrassing and unprofessional. I called Fishman and after months of following their directions and having them have me take it apart and send parts back to them they finally told me the problem was "intermittent" and they sent me a new front panel to replace the channels. It worked okay for about an hour and started cracking again and shutting off again. I am very disheartened to the fact that I wasted all that money on a system that stressed me out as much as it did and only worked for about 6 months. I wasted valuable time and money on this system. It is not reliable at all.

The Best I've Had on Stage!

By Jimmy Mac

from Las Vegas, NV

Comments about Fishman SA220 Solo Performance System & Acoustic Guitar Combo Amp:

Tony at my Guitar Center kept telling me about it. He finally got one in stock, set it up and called me. One set up is all it took! The sound is nothing more than phenominal! Imagine the perfect Martin guitar - only louder and with nothing more than added volume. No distortion, nothing synthetic sounding - just the most beautiful resonant sound my Martin can produce! 220W of power - the rest of the band can hear with no problem. I've done a solo with it and with a mic and stand (with effects built in) this lightweight system goes anywhere with pride! BUY IT! One of my best career purchases in 30 years!

Comments about Fishman SA220 Solo Performance System & Acoustic Guitar Combo Amp:

When I first bought this Fishman Solo amp, I loved it, but I thought I'd give it time to see how it held up. Well it's been a couple years at least, and it's held up just fine. I love it's sound it's portability, it ease to set up and also the service. I had a small problem with the speaker stand and it was quickly and satisfactorily cleared up by the Guitar Center in Portland and the Fishman rep so that I never missed a beat. ( I bought the extended warrany because the system was brand new to the market place) I have used this system inside and out and I highly recommend this system especially to solo acoustic performers

Don't hesitate! Blown away!

By David

Comments about Fishman SA220 Solo Performance System & Acoustic Guitar Combo Amp:

Was in local GC to look at acoustic guitars and found one I liked...wanted to try out pickup and plugged into this simply out of pure luck. I bought the guitar and the PA same day...unbelievable sound, plenty of volume for small gigs, easy, reverbs sound great, EQs nicely, portable, and best of all it has a tonal range from the highs, mids and very nice low end which I couldn't believe. Sometimes you get something at the store and get it home and it just isn't the same...in this case, not so. It sound as good in my basement studio. My guitar playing bandmate came over and could not believe it...he said this is the "holy grail" for a small portable system. More inputs and better sounding in my opinion that the Bose at same price point. I run my vocals and guitar into TC Helicon harmonizer and those signals are mixed for channel one. I run my bandmates vocals through channel two. Run his miked electric guitar amp signal into cheap Behringer two channel mixer along with my miked electric guitar amp (when not playing acoustic) into rear monitor channel. What a killer, simple, great sounding portable set up. iPod sounds great through AUX input in front panel. Can't say enough about this thing.

Awesome sound!

By John

from Syracuse,NY

Comments about Fishman SA220 Solo Performance System & Acoustic Guitar Combo Amp:

I've had my Fishman now for a year and the novelty has not worn off. My primary use of it is entertaining adult homes, day habs, etc.. The sound is fantastic in every setting I've encountered. Set up/tear down saves me time over my former system. I've used it in some coffee house settings and even a large barn event. I don't believe I have ever needed more than half volume(most settings is maybe 1/4). The anti feedback control is awesome. I primarily play a '96 Guild JF30 through it w/a Stagg mic. The sound is superb. It fills the room in every direction. I use a portable CD player or my IPhone for down time filler and the sound is great. As a solo musician I cannot imagine a better system for the money. I highly recommend it!

Great Acoustic Amp/PA that can go Electric

By Kurt C.

from Fort Lauderdale, Florida

Comments about Fishman SA220 Solo Performance System & Acoustic Guitar Combo Amp:

After a year of use in the house and a gig in a 250 seat theater I can say that I really like this amp. The tone with EQ flat is to my ear very natural, and it sounds great that way with almost everything thats been plugged into it, from my Taylor T5 to a my Strat and a friends violin. This leaves lots of tone adjustablity for different rooms or instruments. I can plug in my Korg Tuner as well. I take advantage of the two channels and run my guitar to an A-B-Both Box. One output goes to Soloamp channel one, all tone set flat with reverb, and the other output goes to a Line-6 board and then to Soloamp channel two, EQ flat and no reverb. I can go from full distortion and effects electric to clean accoustic with a very portable and easy to set up rig. I especially like the combined channels, a so-called wet-dry sound, opens up a lot of tonal possibities. If you go from acoustic to electric with your music this is a great way to go for small to medium size rooms. I didn't have to push the amp past 5 for the 250 seat theater. It is pretty easy to pull around in the supplied bag with wheels, and I have pulled it a lot. I want another one to make a stereo pair.

Far superior to the Bose L1 Compact!

By Dave Walgrave

from Florida

Comments about Fishman SA220 Solo Performance System & Acoustic Guitar Combo Amp:

I bought the L1 Compact first and had SO many feedback problems. Bose said to stand 5-7 feet in front of it which just isn't possible in some/most venues. They also recommended the ToneMatch, but hey, that's another $500. This Fishman SA220 has features that blow the Bose away....it's very well thought out. 1. The case has wheels on it making it easy to take to a gig. 2. The controls are extremely convenient and easy to tweak while standing or sitting on a bar stool. 3. Phase and anti-feedback work great 4. Mute, reverb and phantom power are REALLY nice to have too. NONE of these features are on the Bose.... Most important though, the sound is what you'd expect from Fishman. Crystal clear guitar and vocals that project evenly through the whole room. It doesn't have a subwoofer and is plenty bassy without one. I play this in a couple places that hold up to 100 people and have never turned the master volume past half way. I'm very happy with the Fishman!

All three items together make this an remarkable system.

By Jeffrey Evans

from Sarasota Florida

Comments about Fishman SA220 Solo Performance System & Acoustic Guitar Combo Amp:

To maximize the performance of the Fishman SA220 you need to add the Kustom PA112S sub woofer. Connect the two with a On Stage sub woofer pole #109100776 and you will have a clean and simple system. You won't need the Fishman tripod stand. Just use the adjustable sub pole. I also velcro a guitar tuner and CD player on the top of the sub cabinet which give you a very convenient platform to use. Now you are set to enjoy performing with what I have found to be the most efficient and best sounding system that a soloist can buy. The sub is a must and for $199.00 it adds 1000% to the Fishman. If I was selling the Fishman PA220 I would have this set up and demo it right next to the Boss. If you do solo gigs get rid of the board, speakers, and monitors and head out there with this system. You will be glad you made the change. Jeff Evans

Great for a One-Woman Band!

By Nancy Abramson

from Baltimore, MD

Comments about Fishman SA220 Solo Performance System & Acoustic Guitar Combo Amp:

Bought this 15 months ago and couldn't be happier. I sing at many different venues using an IPod and Shure wireless mike, and people are amazed at the sound. I used it in small rooms, gymnasiums, outdoor pool parties and large auditoriums, and it it feels the room with great sound. I tried both the Bose and the Fishman at my local Guitar center, and vocally, you can't beat the Fishman. Super easy to set up and tear down. I only wish the wheels and balance on the bag were more stable as I have to pull it almost horizontelly to keep it from tipping over, which it does if it hits a rough spot. But it is extremely portable and takes little space in my car. Fishman tech support is friendly, knowledgable - truly outstanding!

Big enough for a Gospel Quartet!

By David

Comments about Fishman SA220 Solo Performance System & Acoustic Guitar Combo Amp:

I bought this Solo amp last Christmas and I absolutely love it! I also purchased an Alto six channel mixer and I plug it into one of the channels of the Fishman. I run four wireless mics, a keyboard, and my Taylor Acoustic Guitar through the mixer and the sound is incredible. The sound is clean and loud, and the set up is quick and easy, and it's light and easy on the back! I really like having it set up behind me, I can hear the vocals better than any monitor that I've ever used before. I'm honestly amazed at how well it does all this, with such good highs and lows. We play mostly smaller churches and so far it's been plenty of sound for every setting we've used it for. It's not quite big enough to do much outside, but I do use it as a monitor with my bigger Yamaha system. I would strongly recommend it to use in smaller venues!
