Up until now, I used the tinny electronics in my 6-string acoustic guitar, then the Neo-D single coil, along with my Boss pedals. Then I decided to give the Neo-D02 a try, and I've never heard my guitar sound better. Tasty, crisp, big booming sound. My 6-string now serves as a worthy companion to my 12-string (which I use with my original Neo-D) instead of a wannabe. It is, of course, a bit bigger and heavier than the single-coil version, and it feels a little unwieldy at first when you're installing it, but it is well worth it.

I REALLY wanted to like this pick-up. I was excited when I got it... but in an A/B comparison to the built-in under saddle transducer it really was no better than the UST. It doesn't pick up any of the body or top sound, just the strings. Not terrible, but really not an improvement over what I had.

Comments about Fishman Neo-D02 Humbucker Soundhole Pickup:

I bought this to replace an old Bill Lawrence acoustic pickup. After installing the Fishman I began to test it out. Everything was fine until I started to play in higher frets. Around the 10th fret, the quality was diminished. At the 12 fret, all I got was "tink." My strings were hitting the top of the pickup when fretted.
I tried to lower the position of the pickup, but there isn't much leeway as the length of the pickup doesn't expand.
I had to send it back.

Comments about Fishman Neo-D02 Humbucker Soundhole Pickup:

could have saved some $ on a lesser unit. but the reviews said buy this one. I am not unhappy that I did.
shipping was on time. and in ten minutes it was installed. plugged in to a fender bullet amp and was amazed at what came out. the clarity was a joy. full rich sound. great highs and deep lows. no pre amp was needed. no hum no buzz. I just wish it came with an end pin jack option, I would pay a little more if it had that option.
all and all. if you want a pick-up that works, I would buy the neo-d.

Comments about Fishman Neo-D02 Humbucker Soundhole Pickup:

Excellent natural sound reproduction using this on my HD28 with Monel strings. Very impressed with warmth and brilliance. The Clarity is outstanding. I've been around acoustic amplification for 37 years, this is a great set up for a small price.

This replaced the stock pickup on an older Ovation. The tone is significantly improved.

This replaced the standard pickup on an older Ovation. The sound is much better, tone is killer.

          Really Great Product

Comments about Fishman Neo-D02 Humbucker Soundhole Pickup:

I have several acoustics with built in electronics. Taylor, Martin and a few others with high end Fishman and Duncan pickups. This is the equal if not better. Great tone across all the strings, and it is removable to put on my other guitars when I want. I can live with the wire coming out the sound hole. Very satisfied. No hum and no feedback at moderate levels.

Unfortunately chord does not fit thru the peg hole on Martins, but my D41 and DM12 sound clear bright and crisp.

Comments about Fishman Neo-D02 Humbucker Soundhole Pickup:

I have an 82 Alvarez thin body acoustic that I love to play but never have used at a gig because I didn't want to have to mic it and irritate sound guys. I picked this up and installed it in a minute, restrung the guitar with Elixirs and fired it up. I am shocked at how clean and beautiful the guitar sounds. I've only plugged it into a tiny practice amp and tonight I'll plug it into my big acoustic amp and really let loose. So happy I bought this thing - no buzz, no hiss, no squeal - just beautiful true tones from my guitar so far. Highly recommend!

Comments about Fishman Neo-D02 Humbucker Soundhole Pickup:

After reading alot of reviews, I decided the Fishman Neo-D02 was the way to go. Installation was super easy, really great design. When I plugged it in I was amazed how great it sounded. Great volume, rich tone, no hum, smooth. Very impressive!! Unfortunately after about 30 minutes of loving it....no sound. Apparently it had loose or disconnected wires in the jack (where it plugs into the amp) when I would move it around, it would static and try to come on. I tried it on two different amps..same result. Went back to replace it and they were out. Unfortunately had to have one for that weekend and couldn't wait till they got more in. Really dissapointed because it sounded so great. Had to get a Dean Markley brand (humbucker), which might have sounded great if I hadn't heard the Fishman first. Anyway, the good folks at Guitar Center said I could bring it back in and trade back up to the Fishman when they get more in. I highly recommend the Fishman.
