Overview

The Aura Nylon acoustic guitar Imaging Pedal uses Fishman's exclusive Aura Acoustic Imaging Technology in a familiar effects pedal format, finally allowing acoustic guitarists to easily and accurately reproduce the sound of their instrument as miked in a professional studio.

Easy to set up and use, Aura pedals eliminate intrusive stage noise and expensive microphone setups, allowing guitarists to achieve incredible recordings at home or in any live performance setting. Designed for use with guitars featuring undersaddle or magnetic soundhole pickups, this Aura Nylon Pedal is specifically designed for use with nylon string classical guitars.

The Aura Imaging pedal features 16 Images, selected from their vast online library to cover a wide range of the most popular acoustic guitar models. A deliberately simple and intuitive control set offers Volume, Blend, and Phase allowing simple operation at home or on stage.

Aura uses digital algorithms, developed in Fishman's audio labs, to create an image of the natural sound that microphones capture in a professional studio. This Image, when played through an amp, mixer, or PA, blends with your instrument's pickup to produce an immediate and dramatic improvement in your amplified sound.

For the highest audio quality, the Aura Acoustic Imaging Pedal features 24-bit A/D D/A and 32-bit internal processing, and runs on a 9V battery or AC power adapter.

The Fishman Aura Imaging Pedal looks great, too. It features the look of brushed steel top and bottom, and a black center section where the jacks are located.

Fishman Aura Nylon String makes a huge difference

By Lee Barrie

from Chicago, IL

Comments about Fishman Aura Nylon String Acoustic Guitar Imaging Pedal:

I purchased the Fishman to enhance the sound of my Godin Multiac nylon string acoustic electric guitar. The guitar has a thin hollow body and produces a rather thin sound when amplified. The Fishman Aura made it sound like a full acoustic instrument and reduced string squeak. I can't imagine performing without it, now that I've tried it. It isn't a miracle cure but it makes a definite, positive improvement. I found that images no. 7 and 12 were my preferred settings and I set the blend toward the imaging side rather than the non-imaged side (about 2 o'clock position), but there are many variations to choose from. I have yet to try it while recording, however, so I can't voice an opinion about that.

Practical and usable sounds

By DR NRFace

Comments about Fishman Aura Nylon String Acoustic Guitar Imaging Pedal:

I own two Fishman Aura pedals: the larger Image Blender and this Nylon Imaging model. I bought this one to use live, hoping to eliminate the use of the AKG 451 condensor I have toted around for years, and hoping to avoid potential feedback. Well, the Aura does not only eliminated feedback and the need for using a mic, it also speeds up set-up time and the need to carry another mic stand. It's not perfect, but meets about 95% of my expectations with regard to sound quality while playing live. I use several of the images mixed at about 50/50 to 80/20 for quieter solo venues. Image #12 at 100% image is great for louder ensemble gigs. I have engaged the Aura before input on smaller PA,s, used it in the effects loop on my AER, and put it between my guitar and active and passive DI's sending to mic inputs with great results. The unit is consistent from amplification systems to systems which also helps to simplify set-up. It works well with all three of my Yari active and passive nylons as well as with my Godin multiac. If you desire to improve (or, mask) the tone of that under saddle pu, this is an easy way to do it.
