Pros: Great sound quality, Easy Installation (once pickup is soldered...) Cons: Not Enough Information Given in the page I bought this pickup to turn my Takamine G100 solid top from straight acoustic to acoustic/electric. Overall, the price I paid and the quality I received went well hand in hand. But, the page did not list enough information on the installation... I was unaware that the preamp would have to be soldered to the pickup. So I ended up having to sink 25 more bucks into a Soldering Iron so that I could connect them. After that though, the installation was relatively easy. all you had to do was take off the old strings, drill a couple of holes, shave down the saddle a small bit, put the new pickup in and put the new strings on. Only took me relatively 2 hours for the entire procedure.
I replaced a nearly 30 year old Barcus-Berry peizo with the Fishman. My Takamine knock-off of a Guild jumbo is still one of the ugliest guitars I've ever seen. But now it sounds better than ever... and that's saying a lot. The reason I've kept this guitar all this time is the sound. Crisp highs, big bass. All of it comes through with clarity it never had before. Get this pickup, and a $5 soldering iron.
