  • Great Entry-Level Pickup

As reviewed by Boogrock on 11/3/2006

The Fishman Neo-D Pickup is a great pickup for the price. I got it for a last minute gig and was perfect. My only qualm is the cord comes out of the soundhole, other than that, it's a great deal. It gives fair-to-good tone for the investment.

  • Just got it

As reviewed by Alex R. on 10/7/2008

I just got this pickup and have only used it a couple times but so far its is a really good sound quality especialy for the price. I would definetly recomend it over the Dean Markley SC-1 Acoustic Pro Mag for the sound.

  • WOW! I just saved $250

As reviewed by Dan Falls on 1/2/2012

I went to a local GC tonight to purchase an acoustic/electric. It's just after Christmas so the selection was less than I had hoped. I was just about to spend more than my budget when I considered a simple soundhole pickup for my existing acoustic guitar, an inexpensive Yamaha. Let me just say I have achieved the same results with this little puppy as I would have had I spent $300 on a new guitar. I opted to spend less on this single coil pickup than I would have on the humbucker, and yes... there are feedback issues but I expected that. If the hum is troublesome, spend the extra dough on the humbucker version, but for the money... WOW this is great. Easy installation. I had it unpacked and installed in 5 minutes. Plus, being that my guitar is nothing special I am not averse to drilling a hole in the butt end to route the cord through the back and eliminating the somewhat bothersome cord sticking out of the soundhole. Bottom line, it's an inexpensive way to amplify your acoustic, but I do say again, if you can afford it, get the humbucker... but if your budget is tight like mine, this one will do.
