The Fender '65 Twin Reverb Amp is an authentic all-tube reproduction of the original classic! It has earned a reputation of being one of the cleanest tube amps ever, but it delivers a taste of the trademark Fender crunch when cranked up high. Delivers 85W through two Jensen 12" speakers. It has two channels, tube vibrato, tube spring reverb, tilt-back legs and Blackface cosmetics. Includes two-button footswitch to control reverb and vibrato effects. Order the optional Fender amp cover to protect your investment (see accessory box on this page).

Designed to sound as close to the original as possible, the ˜65 Reissues are assembled in Corona, California and feature Jensen speakers (One C12K for the Deluxe and two C12Ks for the Twin, four P10Rs for the Super and one C10R for the Princeton), Schumacher transformers, traditional tremolo and tube-driven reverb to create that classic, "Blackface" sound so many players desire. They do have PCBs (Printed Curcuit Boards), as opposed to the original's "hand-wired" circuitry, but the components (capacitors and resistors) are the same values as amps from that period. They also have hand-wired tube sockets and other parts for added strength.

Tonal Characteristics: Bright, scooped midrange that is known as the "Blackface" sound, pronounced "Wine Glass" highs from the Jensen speakers and a slightly more polite power amp for crystal cleans that can also be cranked for great overdriven tones.
Who's it for: Players that love the original versions but are priced out of owning vintage amps, blues players, country players, rock players, guitarists trying to get classic "Blackface" sounds (a la Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix, John Mayer), American-made amp enthusiasts, traditionalists, avid Fender collectors.

One of the best amps I've ever played!

By MichaelB

from Pilot Point, TX

Comments about Fender Vintage Reissue '65 Twin Reverb 85W 2x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

I love this amp! I've played a Fender Strat, Ibanez Iceman, Fender Jaguar, Gibson SG, and a telecaster through it. All with amazing tone and clarity. This amp sings/sceams/moans/groans like no other. It can go from crisp high cleans with just a dash of reverb, to incredible distortion. This Amp has the best reverb I've ever heard, and the clearest clean channel. The vibrato is so smooth, and crisp. Do NOT miss out on this amp!

best amp i've ever had!

By Alan Of Lion

from edinburg, texas

Comments about Fender Vintage Reissue '65 Twin Reverb 85W 2x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

ok well i got this amp today, and the first thing i did was play on the vibrato channel and man oh man!!!! it sounds ohh so awesome!!! so about 30 minutes into playing, you can hear it get more warmth and the tone sounding a lot fatter and i put it on standby and plugged in my TS808 and WOW!!!!!! it sounds absolutely ravishing with the twin!! this amp doesn't have overdrive so i suggest you buy either a TS808 or a TS9, in my opinion i think the 808 sounds a lot better, but thats up to you! oh and this thing is LOUD..i play it at 2.5 volume and if you go up to 7 or a little past 7 you can hear its natural tube overdrive..not much but sounds really nice. one more have to buy this amp if you have the money for it or save up!!!!! you will not regret it!!

Hear you - loud & clean!

By Larry in MA

from S. Grafton, MA

Comments about Fender Vintage Reissue '65 Twin Reverb 85W 2x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

65 Twin Reissue: The daddy of all things big and clear. The absence of confusing parameter controls is a virtue. You have volume, EQ, reverb, and vib/trem. The beauty is in the tone - that vocal, chimey, pure FENDER-ness that cannot be imitated. You get flawless clean power with extremely comfortable headroom. If you have spent big bucks souping up a Strat or some other awesome guitar, this is the vehicle for showing it off. It takes the statement from your axe and makes it VERY public without altering the message. I have a Strat with Duncan Antiquity custom-wound Texas Hot pickups and when I play it through the Twin it can go between singing angelically and snarling like a junkyard dawg (but you do need a stomp box to junkyard-snarl). This amp will put closure on your search for the perfect tone.

This amp is a workhorse

By stringbender078

Comments about Fender Vintage Reissue '65 Twin Reverb 85W 2x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

I have owned my twin since '78 and it has performedvery well. Rugged, you bet! Powerful..OH YEAH!! It has the features you wish ALL amps should have, like: AC outlet in rear panel, 3pos. ground switch, UNPLUGABLE speaker jack, extension speaker jack, RCA outputs and inputs for the reverb unit, and more! The overdrive is not the best, but we all have pedals for that. Two channels and 4, yes FOUR inputs with separate Vol, Treb, Mid, & bass in each channel, and master vol, Reverb, Vibrato speed & intensity in the reberb channel. Oh yeah, bright switches in both channels. You'd be hard pressed to find an amp with all these features in a compact package with that clean Fender tone! It is just another example why Fender amps are THE standard against which all other amps are compared!

A whole lot of amp: big volume and sincere reproduction

By LaroldC

from Massachusetts

Comments about Fender Vintage Reissue '65 Twin Reverb 85W 2x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

I bought mine used from a private seller, and its upkeep had been totally neglected. Now, after re-tubing & biasing it, it is like brand new. All hype aside (and omitting the specs/features from this review), this amp has a major upside and a minor downside. It is a terrific performer overall. The keywords here are LOUD and CLEAN. To get it to crunch even a little you need to push the volume past 8, which will basically flatten a 10-acre cane field or sterilize a rhino from 300 yards. But when you apply your favorite FX/OD pedal this monster creates magic at any volume. Just be warned: If you plan on "keeping it real" by directly plugging in your old Strat or Tele w/out any external FX, then you had better have clean chops, because this machine will not flatter a sloppy player. But if you are fairly adept then this baby will laugh, sing, and/or weep for you. There is no other clean tone or real spring reverb warmth like this on the planet. This is Fender's flagship combo amp, and for good reason. If an alien invasion force lands in your yard and their leader steps off his ship and asks you, "What exactly is this 'Fender sound' we've heard about?", all you'd need to do is set your Strat's 5-position switch to #4, push the Twin's reverb to noon, crank the volume up to 5, dial in a touch of slow tremolo, and strum him a 3rd-fret-barred Cmaj7. By the time the chord stops sustaining, Earth will be safe once again.

The Standard in Tube Amplification Technology....

By JesseBenz

Comments about Fender Vintage Reissue '65 Twin Reverb 85W 2x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

I grew up a Son of a Musician,My father owned a 1975 Fender blue face super reverb tube amp with four square magnet 10in Jensen speakers he bought in 1976,and played a 1971 Les Paul Gold top Deluxe through it,and that tone sound he got out of it was embedded in my soul.I always judged tone of amps to his and still due today,He finally gave it to me and its my prize possession,So I finally was able to buy my own tube amp so I went with the Sixty Five Reissue ,and it sounds exactly like my Dads, this amp is so clear that it will change your out come and view towards all the amps there are today in regards to tone.Fender made a Amp that has no other, its a honor to own such a great piece of history and perfection. I want all guitar players who are serious about tone to at least play through this amp and see for yourself what this amp is all about. You owe it to yourself as a guitar player. So what are you waiting for go, there's only so many now be apart of history buy it.....J

Comments about Fender Vintage Reissue '65 Twin Reverb 85W 2x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

Nearly four years have gone by since the day I brought this very heavy (thank God for rollers) amp back to my house. Almost 40 years had gone by since the last time I had played one, and I knew what to expect. It is no wonder that this is one of the most recorded amps in the clean style music industry. It is as warm as a hug from a baby, and clear enough for aliens to understand what was being played. Many of you who read this weren't even alive when this amp would play songs that had a great deal of reverb or Tremolo. As a teenager in a rock band, you should have heard how this amp sounded when I would kick off the lead to Johnny B"Good playing my Fender Strat, The Stones-This could be the last time, Louie, Louie, Yardbirds-For your love, and the song most requested: "Last Kiss" (Not by Pantarea) There were no DJs in those days, every school dance had a live band made up of students within the area. If the band was good, there was a Fender Twin or Deluxe in the group. Today, I have a studio (small one), and many guitars hang on the wall for recording purposes. No matter which one you go for, Fender, Gibson, Carvin, etc, they all sound great over this amp. The 85watts will carry any venue most of you play. If not, then mic it and it will be heard. Having a normal channel, and a Vibrato, allows you to come up with some good tones. It is pedal friendly, but this amp is not one you should destroy it's purpose in life and attempt to play metal over it. That is why I have the Marshall JVM410H half stack. If I want Ozzy, then I use the Gibson LP with the Marshall. For all those motown, blues, country, and oldies, there is no better amp than the Fender 65 reissue Twin Reverb.

Still Mourning the loss!

By Steve Swinton.

from Bolton Lancashire England.

Comments about Fender Vintage Reissue '65 Twin Reverb 85W 2x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

I Bought a new original 72 silverface Twin reverb. Sadly sold it when kids came along. God I miss it so!!! Still love the Kids, it wasnt their fault. But now they have all grown up and flown the nest I am keen to replace it. Would buy a new one like the ones advertised here, but I really do want a vintage original. Only people who have owned a "Twin" will understand the feeling of loss that I have suffered all this time. One of the Finest guitar amps ever produced. Did I tell you? I play a Gibson ES335 Dot. If you want to hear your Gibson sound as it was truely meant to sound, plug it into a "Twin". Steve Swinton. Bolton, England.

Twin, I love you!

By steve

Comments about Fender Vintage Reissue '65 Twin Reverb 85W 2x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

This amp is very sweet. You can play any style you like with the right pedals. It shines using it clean or with a TS-9. Its shines playing country, Reaggae, ska, oldies. It fills any size room with ease without a mic in front. Just use stage volume in any bar room. Sounds best at volume on 4 and higher so set it on at least 4 in smaller rooms and set your guitar volume knob. (Thats what I do and I use it without pedals, just clean most of the time) The reverb is the best there is and throws it out in the crowd so a little goes a long way. The bright switch is perfect for those crowded rooms when you need to cut through or with other guitarists playing. The controls work nicely with a noticable difference with each number to fine tune your sound. My amp is a 2002. Bought used,Ive had it over a year now and works fine. Tubes get very hot I use a fan behind all my tube amps. The pilot light flickers, but oh well. Its cool. I put JJ tubes in it but Im not impressed and will go back to Sovtek or GT's when ever. Dont buy into the JJ tube hype. The amp sounds awsome, just saying. This amp is heavy, buy a flat cart at Tractor Supply, the 4 wheel kind or a hand truck(dolly) or buy casters at Home Depot like I did. I would buy again if need. Hope your back can lift it.

A Job Well Done

from Austin, Texas

Comments about Fender Vintage Reissue '65 Twin Reverb 85W 2x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

To be honest, I was terrified of purchasing this amp. I had grown quite fond of my Hot Rod Deluxe II, through which I'd been playing for the better part of 8 years, and I genuinely thought it would never end. Sure, the distortion channel was laughable and the volume knob was more sensitive than Sarah McLachlan's dog commercials, but I just need an amp to do a great job at being authentic and resonant. When it came to raw tone, I think the Hot Rod series will go down as a modern classic, and I wouldn't be surprised if in 40-50 years, we're seeing "vintage reissues" of those. Enough about my old buddy, though. I knew I wanted to stick with a Fender tube, because 'Merica (okay, maybe it's Mexico), but that didn't narrow my choices down much now, did it? I, like many of you out there, came to the realization that I'm a consumerist snob, and when I buy new gear, I can't just buy something that costs less when I know I'm just going to keep wanting the real deal--that horrible "what if?" feeling. Trust me--you know what you want and you will always want it; do not try to appease your inner demon with a plan B. So I did it, I bought the blackface, the amp we've all heard about and drawn comparisons to for decades. It arrived today. Plugged it in, got a nice whiff of what smelled like heated silicon, and began to play. Unbelievable. Superb in every sense. It does not let up. It's like silver butter bathing over you while electricity flows through your bloodstream. She lets you take her home and gives you more than you asked for. And as with any fine piece of audio equipment, it wasn't just the amp that made me smile, but the fact that every piece of the system from my strings to my pedals felt liberated and heightened. Beyond the sound, the construction and finish of the amp itself is dynamite. I can tell there was a lot of love put into the creation of this reissue, and I can't wait to see where we go together.

Comments about Fender Vintage Reissue '65 Twin Reverb 85W 2x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

I've had my Fender Twin Reverb for almost a year now and it's an amazing amp! Playing through it with my Fender Cyclone brings out really warm tones with bright highs and low lows. I really love the vibrato, it's really smooth. The reverb is top quality and sounds huge! I would highly recommend this amp!

Comments about Fender Vintage Reissue '65 Twin Reverb 85W 2x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

Everyone knows "The Twin" is the industry standard but I found it hard to lay down the cash, yup this amp is expensive. I was in the market for a new amp that could keep up with a band and the Twin was the only choice. Doing some research I considered the Super Sonic Twin but by the time I was in the market for one Fender discontinued it. I was pretty bumped but working with the GC staff we got the amp I really wanted from the beginning. The moment I plugged my guitar in and stumbled that first chord it was like heaven. This amp sounds amazing, and yes it can be loud, almost too loud! Clean and dynamic, beautiful tube tone, perfect for blues and takes on a Tube Screamer and Wah well. Funny, I think it helps me play better too :D Best amp I've ever had, highly recommend...

Comments about Fender Vintage Reissue '65 Twin Reverb 85W 2x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

Bought this amp strictly to be used for clean with my Vox AC30H2 (for dirty). This amp sounds amazing! Beauitful tone that doesn'y break up, just like everyone says. If clean is what you're goin for then this is for you. Though im not a fan of its dirty side, even with a decent distortion pedal running through it, but that's what my Vox is for. Buy it now for the love of GOD!

Simply Incredable

Comments about Fender Vintage Reissue '65 Twin Reverb 85W 2x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

When i went to purchase this amp i looked at Mesas, Bad Cats, and Dr.z's only to find that the tone i was looking for was in the 65 Deluxe reverb. Nothing and i mean nothing can hold up to the clan tone this beast puts out and the reverb as well as the tremalo is the best i have ever heard. if you want a little dirt throw some pedals in front of it and you still wont loose youre guitars tone, and its loud. I play in front of abought three hundred people on a rgular basis and ive never pushed the volume past four. Truly an exceptional amp for an exceptional price.

The perfect amp.

By Bryon Staats

from Greenwood IN

Comments about Fender Vintage Reissue '65 Twin Reverb 85W 2x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

I picked this amp up used a few months ago. I've primarily been a solid state guy for 25 years, aside from an ADA MP-1 tube preamp that's been the staple of my rack setup. Not necessarily by choice, but more of a function of money. Hard to justify the price of a tube amp when supporting a wife and child. Anyway, I finally got one! This beauty is what clean guitar should sound like. I play heavy rock mostly, but feel inspired to play clean more and more, now that I can actually hear what my guitars sound like. I mostly play a Jackson DKMG with EMG 81/85s, an ash bodied Tele with vintage noiseless pickups, and an '87 Charvel 1A with upgraded Seymour Duncan stacked pickups. All 3 guitars have their own beautiful sound, but it's no surprise the Tele sounds best plugged straight in with no pedals. The Jackson and Charvel both sound awesome straight in and with pedals. This amp takes pedals very well. I run through a Fulltone OCD, MXR Fullbore Metal(with gain and treble turned very low), and MXR EQ. I really only use the EQ in conjunction with the metal pedal to smooth out the high end harshness. I've only plugged into the Normal channel once, to insure it worked. Since then I use the #2(low) input on the Vibrato channel. I always use the reverb, typically on 2.5 or so. Never really use the vibrato other than to play around and experiment. It is very lush sounding. I can't imagine a better sounding reverb anywhere. Volume-wise, this baby has more volume and clean headroom than you will ever need. If this amp is not loud enough for you, you're insane. Bottom line: Sounds crystal clear, takes pedals well, sounds good playing any type of music, and has more power/volume than you'll ever need.

You Won't Regret It

from Choctaw, OK

Comments about Fender Vintage Reissue '65 Twin Reverb 85W 2x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

I have to say this amp is perfect for clean warm sounds. It's the perfect "pedal" amp, because it's so clean and unadulterated. I love the vibrato and reverb. I feel like I've stepped back in time to the first time I plugged into a twin reverb, at the recreation center at Clark Air Base, but never though I could afford one. I wish I had bought one then, because they're very expensive now. I Love it!

A friend of mine purchased a Fender 65 Twin Reverb Amp and it is truly amazing. The original twin reverbs were the ultimate in fender tube amps. This reissue holds true to original amp. The clean tone of this amp is unlike any other. The vibrato sounds awesome as well. Crank this amp and you will the perfect mount of pure tube driven overdrive. Fender made some of the best tube amps in history and much hasn't changed.
