Having had a Vibro King since they first came out I can say with love in my heart and music in my bones they are the very best of the best of amplifiers that I have ever played. Recently I started working with a Dr. Z and though it was a remarkable sounding amp. That reverb in the Vibro King is as good as it gets. Sweet Sweet tone for days. Nothing can touch it and together with my RI 59 Bassman running in tandom I have blown the doors off many a stage. The earlier cat who gave this amp a 2 just does not know tone. These amps are not cheap and I just bought another one here in Nashville and it sounds better than my first one. I'm a recording artist and have tried just about every amp and configuration of amps and nothing beats the tone of a good hand built Fender. I love Marshalls, SLO Soldano's, Dr Z's, Fuches and a few other amps but I make a living with hand built Fenders. Thanks to Guitar Center for your friendship. Rick Perry
I read the two reviews and I agree with "Best of the Best" review. Sometimes when you buy a "used" amp it has some problems with it. I bought the Vibro King Brand new because when you buy the top of the line Fender hand-wired Custom Shop amp you want it to be a great experience. One of the big worries I have seen is people buying a used amp and then having it delivered in a manner that is not my idea of acceptable. My new Fender Vibro King that I ordered from a reputable dealer arrived about a month after ordering. I told them I wanted a new amp and not a used one. The new amp came double boxed and safe. I opened the box and the amp looked and sounded flawless. My gamble paid off. The amp is a pre-CBS blackface white knob style with the familar silver grille cloth and Fender logo. The transformer in the amp is so huge no wonder there is only room for three speakers. Since I am getting the accompanying 2x12 closed back extension cabinet for punch to complement the shimmering clean crunch of the 3x10 combo I will have a full sound like Pete Townsend does with his Vibro King. The amp shows you how to play beter by delivering sonic detail never heard in any other amp I have played. You hear all the stuff you play, every nuance, good and bad, so it forces you to become a better player. The tone controls can be used like gain controls if you turn up the volume and use it like a master. The amp is self contained with amazing reverb control, Dwell, Mix, Tone. The Vibrato/Tremolo gives you subtle and more pronounced effects, all use-able and musical. You don't need any effects with this amp to sound good. In fact, the best you could sound is by plugging directly into an amp of this quality. Stand close to the amp when playing in your bedroom, practice hall or gigs. You want to feel those speakers as well as hear them plus you can twak the controls as you play different songs. This is a professional guitar amp for people seriously interested in the best tube tone imaginable. You are buying more than a guitar amp when you buy this amp, you are buying history, quality, workmanship, magic by way of even order harmonics and non-negative feedback. Fender provided the opportunity and Bruce Zinky gave Fender a choice, we benefit from this flash of genius that was born in 1993, and is still in production today. Read the Soul of Tone and you will see this proabably is the best guitar amplifier ever built because the reason for building the Vibro King was pure tone from people who live and breathe guitar amps at Fender. I will buy another one because this kind of hand-built product does not happen very often in this mass-produced disposable society. For those about to rock, I salute you.
Cheap P10 r Jensons...a Ticking Vabrato and a horrible reverb. Flabby bottom end...Just a real piece of trash. I should have bought a Bassman and a Reverb Pedal. This Amp is all about Hype!
