I have owned about a dozen or so practice amps over the past year or 2, I have a 60's champ that I dont want to beat up too much. I just came back from puttin this little wonder thru its paces with a tele. WOW I love the sound of this and the price is great as well. I used the reverb and delays and was very pleased with the sound. a must have!

I just got the Vibro-Champ a couple of days ago. I like the Hybrid design, although I am noticing a Consistent AC HUM........... I don't think I can live with this. Maybe a fluke, but I'm seeing this on the internet as a problem. I'll probably return it for something less Humming.

Great little amp!

By Mark

from Fairfax, VA

This is a terrific little amp for practice, or for plugging into a house system. I needed a small, lightweight amp with a "line out" feature and this fits the bill. My other amps are too heavy (old Fender Pro Reverb) or lack a line out (Roland MicroCube). I love the tube sound as well as the digital effects. This is worth the money.

Great Amp while it worked

By J.

from North Haven, CT

This was my first tube amp. Loved this amp when I played it in the store. Loved it whenever I played it at home. About a month in, I started getting crackling sounds, but only intermittently. I assumed it was part of tubes. About 4 months in I turned it on, played a few minutes, and it died completely. Wasn't the tubes, just some faulty electronics. Still a great little amp for the money, and better than any of Fender's small solid state amps by a mile.

Fender Vibro Champ XD Review

By Jim Burgard

from Monclova, OH

I am mostly an acoustic player, but was looking for a small Amp that I could mic (my Taylor T5) and bring through my sound system that way for a change of pace on some songs. I was convinced that I wanted something with a lot of bells and whistles but without the huge price tag. I went to check out a Line 6 Micro Spider, but wasn't happy with the tone or the cheap feel of the knobs. I also checked out Peavy's Vypyr 15, but again was disappointed by what I heard. Then one of the guys at Guitar Center pointed me towards the Fender Vibro Champ XD, and I was amazed by the tone and simplicity of use. It was exactly what I was looking for in the way of tone and portability, and was easier to use than either of the other models above that I looked at. I've had it for a few days now and am extremely happy with my decision. Try one of these before you buy what you "think" you need, you won't be disappointed.

Perfect for me

By Steve H.

from Tempe, AZ

I've always been a keep-it-simple tube amp guy with a particular disdain for modeling amps. The previous DSP amps I've played with just don't sound like tube amps. So I was a little skeptical at first, but this thing sounds amazing. What sold me was the realistic breakup with low gain and high volume. Just like normal Fender tube amps! It captures the Fender brightness with the Blackface model, and the warm fat tone of Tweeds and Hotrod DeVille's. The British models are spot on too, at all gain levels. They even modeled the "boom" of the cabinet! By the way, 5W is PLENTY unless you're playing a large gig. Great job Fender!

Great Amp!

By Trashton Porter

from Seffner,Fl.

If you need a great amplifier, this is it. I am 53 & have been playing & recording since I was 10 years old. This amp is excellent in the studio, as well as small venues. I use "line out" to run directly into a Tascam, DP-01 digital studio. The tone & overall performance is very good. The voices & effects options will keep you busy trying out all combinations. My neighbors called the cops when I was playing on my patio. It proves that a TRUE 5watts RMS is more than sufficient in most cases.Anybody giving this amp a bad review, must have a defective unit. Guitar Center, beat other store's prices by a mile..Buy it! You won't be disappointed.....

tube steak

By jeswah

from true north strong and free

its the first real tube amp i have purchased, and i can tell you now for certain i was throwing away money on anything else..have a road worn telecaster..perfect match for each other..i'm still finding new sounds i can tweak out of it with the different voice channels. loud enough for my house, not sure how it would gig but thats not really what its for. can't say enough about the one this thing makes, and for 5 watts i was pleasantly surprised, still louder than any 20-30 watt standard amp i have owned. brings a smile to my face.

Great...When its working :(

By Rob

from Harrisburg, PA

This is a great amp but i have had the same issue with 2 separate amps. I still don't even know exactly whats wrong with it. The amp still produces sound, but at a much lower volume. For example, The volume level of a very high gain channel(lets say #12) is as loud as the quieter clean channels. You can barely even hear it on the quieter clean channels(lets say #1). Once again, its great when its working, but i have had 2 faulty products and im not sure if i will exchange this one for another.

Amazing Amp

By John L.

from Orlando, Fl

I just bought this amp the other day. The tone is absolutely amazing. It has that beautiful, warm tube tone to it. Crank it up and it just oozes killer tube overdrive. I will NEVER go back to solid state amps again! The effects are fantastic. My favorite is the Reverb. I was worried about it not having enough power, only being 5 watts, but let me tell you this amp is loud! You probably could play a small gig, but it is perfect for rehearsal, practice and recording. I have been playing for 8 years, trying all sorts of pedals, amps, etc. I wish I would have picked up this amp sooner. I would've saved a ton of money.

Ultimate grab and go!

By Smokey the cat

from Reno, NV

This is a excellent practice amp. Warm sound with digital magic. The ultimate grab and go, for bedroom, garage, and even mic'd up for a small venue. I would be deeply sadden if it came up missing however, it would be immediately replaced.
