Based on Tim Armstrong's beat up old '60s Fender acoustic on which he writes all the songs for the legendary punk band Rancid, the Fender Tim Armstrong Hellcat left-handed acoustic-electric guitar is ready to slam its way into the mosh pit. Tim has given his acoustic some modern flair and style with pearl acrylic "Hellcat" logos on the 3rd, 5th, and 7th frets while a couple of skulls adorn the 12th fret. Other features include Fishman Isys III System with an active onboard preamp and tuner, strap button, scalloped bracing, solid mahogany top and a look that will have you singing "Roots Radicals" till your Mohawk is ready for its next trim. Fender includes Tim's custom "Let's Go" guitar strap that perfectly complements this acoustic's edgy visuals.

Comments about Fender Tim Armstrong Hellcat Left-Handed Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Being a lefty in the music world is difficult, especially with the minuscule choices of instruments that are available. Being a true lefty, and playing guitar for 13 years, this is one of the best semi-budget guitars I've played, while having a good build quality. The look of the guitar is unique, and the inlays are what people see first. The .12 gauge strings are a little big for this guitar, considering the right handed version comes with .11 gauge. I put a set of .11 D'Addario Nickel Bronze on and it made the guitar sound a lot better. Don't try to record unless changing the pickups/pre amp. They are only good for a small venue that needs a little more sound.Personal use, they do the job. Overall for what I wanted out of it, it came through very well.

Comments about Fender Tim Armstrong Hellcat Left-Handed Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This guitar has killer looks, stays in tune, and was well set up right out of the box. Mine is a lefty 12-string, which is no longer being produced, but the 6 string also has an earthy tone you would not expect....the full mahogany body is a treasure at this price point. Great job, Tim Armstrong and Fender!

    Lefty Guitar

    By tony payne

    from Alabama

Comments about Fender Tim Armstrong Hellcat Left-Handed Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I got this Hell cat to take on a South America tour. I wanted something that was tuff and if it got beat up it would be ok because it did not cost much. I really like the small size and the look. it sounds Ok and when pluged in it will get the job done. if it makes it thru the whole tour it will be one tuff Hell Cat with a nice history.

    armstong fender

Comments about Fender Tim Armstrong Hellcat Left-Handed Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

this was the first semi-expensive guitar ive purchased. played it all day with no complaints really. the only problems i have is that the color of the wood is not nearly as light as picture, and the tuner is a little wack. other than that, easy to play, and great sound.

    Hell Cat: Hellava Good Buy

    By C6

    from Highlands, NJ

Comments about Fender Tim Armstrong Hellcat Left-Handed Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I was in the market for an inexpensive ax to do classes with, tote around for writing and an occasional solo gig. Its never easy for a lefty to find reliable, affordable instruments but for the money, Fender nailed it. Though I like the band Rancid, I'm not usually one for artist models. Like 'em or not, this guitar is unique. It has an edgy, retro 60's appearance, cool neck inlays and a rich dark finish. That would be enough, but included is a built-in Fender pre-amp, chromatic tuner and signature strap. Its smaller size gives it slightly less fullness in the lower register than a standard dreadnaught, but the tone is crisp and has character. I've already played it on a few recordings and look forward to writing our next album on it. Stays in tune and looks cool... An excellent value.
