I purchased a white Fender TC90 a few months ago and I couldn't be happier with the guitar. The set neck and Seymour Duncan P90s make it an atypical Fender guitar, but it still has the 25.5" scale and a Tele-ish body style. With the scale, the set neck, and the semi-hollow design, this guitar has just the right amout of snap to match perfectly with the P90s. It has a more defined tone than the Gibson SG Classic that I used to own, which the TC90 replaced. The neck on the guitar is extremely comfortable. It's similar to a standard Telecaster neck with medium-jumbo frets. The Seymour Duncan P90s are fantastic - just the right balance of P90 grit and mid-range definition. This guitar is a tone monster and it looks fantastic too!
I tried out the tc 90 in a local guitar shop through a small fender pro junior amp, it had a volume and tone knob. The tc90 ripped open that amps potential and made some very music tones with its two seymour duncan p90 pickups. I bought the guitar and took it home and played it through my fender hot rod amp, it gave me a huge sonic palette to work with! The p90s break up with great clarity and the neck pickup made a reverb'd amp haunting and dark, but melodic and whole. The smoked chrome hardware along with the vintage white finish really make this a beautiful, distinguished guitar. The finished neck plays smooth and fast, you don't have to worry about your fingers getting stuck by a blotchy finish. This is an all around great guitar, it is very musical and a fun change for a tele-buff like myself.
I picked it from the wall, played a few licks, and I was sold. I found the neck so much more playable than classic Strat or Telecaster styles. The semi-hollow body adds personality and uniqueness to the sound. I can get 50's raunch, 60's psychedelic, and clean blues from those beautiful Duncan pickups. I like the classic blonde look, a tribute to pioneer instruments and players, and the modern versatility in sound.
