I have been playing guitar since the mid 1960's but have taken time off from time to time, so I'm not a newbie to guitars. I got a gift card to GC and wanted to put this gift card towards the price of a new amp, but I wandered into the acoustic section and I was taken away since I wasn't prepared to buy a new guitar, let alone an acoustic-electric. I must have played six different guitars in a two hour span, and I tried the Fender T-Bucket (Sunburst). Out of all the ones I tried, the T-Bucket stood out in terms of playability, looks, and sound. Quality was outstanding unplugged and plugged in, and the onboard tuner was handy to have although it does stay in tune pretty well. The neck is thin and feels very comfortable, the Fishman Amp works just fine, and the action is pretty darned good. I have gotten several compliments on the finish and the looks of the guitar and of course the price. While the price didn't break the bank and there are more expensive guitars out there, the T-Bucket is a great sounding, reasonably priced guitar. The T-Bucket compliments my other Fender acoustic guitar well. If you are a beginner, this one won't intimidate you, but if you are a seasoned veteran this is also a great guitar to have.

The headset hasn't come yet. Of all eight guitars I've got from you over the years, Fender should be ashamed to shell this poorly crafted junk. I bought on line without trying one when I ordered my Gretsch. I got it on a whim and I'll never do that again. Love my Gretsch.

Very Rugged Guitar

By Dan Boren

from Roscoe, Texas

Comments about Fender California Series T-Bucket 300CE Cutaway Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I purchased this guitar 1 1/2 years ago off of the Guitar Center website. I had been playing for about 4 months when I purchased this guitar, and it has helped me identify what kind of music I love to play; the purpose of a beginning guitar. This guitar (in my opinion) has a very balanced tone and sounds very nice when plugged in. I found it to be a little too quiet for what I like to use it for (Heavy strumming/heavy finger-picking). For most finger-pickers/aspiring finger-pickers, this may not be your dream guitar. However, I found that I love finger-picking on this guitar, and find it to be very competitive to guitars twice its price in this area. I also found that this guitar's sound begins to break up relatively quickly whenever I begin to strum with large amounts of force. Therefore, there isn't much to play with in the mezzo-piano and mezzo-forte sound range. But I really do like this guitar when I want to strum pretty heavily. The reason I didn't award this guitar with five stars, is first of all, even for the price, there are better instruments available made with better materials which make them sound better. Another reason is that there was some fret buzz on a few strings for the first few months I owned it (at first it was very annoying, but after a few string changes and some slight adjustments, it is hardly existent). I suggest sticking with medium strings on this thing, and I personally suggest Dean Markley Helix strings on it (they sound great). This guitar is very tough (I've dropped it a few times) and will last anyone several years. Perhaps one of the reasons for this ruggedness, is that it weighs quite a bit compared to other acoustics I own. Overall this guitar met my high expectations that I set for it, and has impressed me thoroughly. Ideas of songs it sounds good with: Good Riddance by Green Day, Layla (Acoustic Version)by Eric Clapton, Blackbird by The Beatles

Love this guitar

Comments about Fender California Series T-Bucket 300CE Cutaway Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I wanted to wait and play this guitar more before I wrote a review. When I went to GC to buy a guitar, I had a different one in mind, the Epiphone Hummingbird. Before I bought any, I decided to play all the ones at the same price as the Hummingbird. This included the T Bucket (Sunburst), an Ibanez Artwood, and an Yamaha FSX700SC. All of them looked great. I wanted the Ibanez just on looks. However, I thought the T Bucket sounded the best. I just love playing this guitar. The more I play it the more I enjoy it.

Excellent guitar

By Stephen King

Comments about Fender California Series T-Bucket 300CE Cutaway Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

For the price you will be hard pressed to find one better. Acoustically it sound is a little bland, but plugged in this thing shines. I bought this for my wife who actually thinks the opposite of the guitar. She likes it allot acoustically but doesn't like plugging it in. Its all a matter of opinion. Either way Fender is making some great sounding, great priced accoustics. If you are looking for a straight Accoustic take a look at the DG-8S pack. You won't find a better Electric-accoustic than the T-Bucket for the price they ask for it. And the finish is perfect right out of the box. The action was set very low and it is very easy to play. Check it out :).

Awesome Acoustic/Electric!

By Greg

from Arkansas

Comments about Fender California Series T-Bucket 300CE Cutaway Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This was the first acoustic I had ever owned. I have played the fire out of it for the past couple of years. It sounds amazingly good and the tuners hold extremely well. It is a very pretty guitar too. The tuner is really handy. Though I just got a new acoustic/electric, I'm never going to sell my T-bucket. This is a great bang for your buck.

Faulty Electronics

Comments about Fender California Series T-Bucket 300CE Cutaway Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This guitar is by far one of the best ones out there in the price range. Good tone and the feel of the guitar makes it just easy to play with. I would strongly recommend this guitar to any beginner. There is one flaw though. The electronics gave out on me about a year after my purchase. Other than that, greatest guitar for the price

Great guitar for the price. Definitly not made cheap... Feels good. Neck slides real well. Strings that came with it also sound great. Built in tuner works well. Sounds awesome on a Amp. I wish there was more color choices. Shines very nice.

Comments about Fender California Series T-Bucket 300CE Cutaway Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This was the first guitar I ever purchased. I love it. It sounds good it was easy to play, but you should get it set up when you get. Out of the box the strings were a little high and the neck had a slight bow. That was part of my learning process I thought you could just play guitars out of the box.

If you are a beginer like me and trying to decide on your first guitar you wil not be dissapointed with this one. I made a video of my first year so you can see how it performs.
