Killer tones

By Anthony Vincent

from San Diego, CA

I have a 62 reissue Strat bought in 1988. I'd never messed with the pickups bought decided to give these a try and swapped out the originals for them. They're phenomenal. Great vintage 'bell' tones that are soft and clear and far from being too quacky. They allow just the right amount of saturation and compression on a good tube amp. Over the years I've played everything from the original vintage PUs, to newer noiseless PUs, Texas Specials, etc, and these offer the best tone I've heard. Paired with my Matchless it's like tone nirvana. But they also sound really, really good on my $90 Line6 spider. Couldn't recommend them more.

How low can you go ...

By JT

from Boulder, Co

Ever play a vintage strat at a store and walk away wondering why yours doesn't sound like that ... These pickups deliver amazing low end crunch without overdriving the speaker and washing it out. I chose these because I was looking to get that vintage sound of a 5000 dollar 63 strat and get away from the Mid to High frequencies of most newer strats. These also have balanced tone throughout all six strings, so very little adjusting volumes on stage out of need to compensate when in leads. They are consistant ... and they are hot. I was surprised at how much gain these pups pump out. These are the strat pickups to get if you want to wake up your Mexi-Standard or any strat really. They push a tube amp to the breaking point effortlessy. Upgrade your pots as well and you will have control over tones that you never new your strat could deliver. Get these, your strat will thank you and your friends will be jealous of the vintage sound.
