I looked at a few strap locks before buying these fender ones. So just to compare a little, these use a similar pull mechanism to the Hennessey locks. However, the fenders are a few bucks cheaper. The dunlop design uses a press button, which could be pushed by mistake. The pull design of these fender locks requires you to reach to the inside of the strap to release them. I liked this because they cannot really be unlocked any other way. Also, compared to the dunlop and schaller designs, the fender lock is larger. The male side is wider than the schaller and longer then the dunlop. The female end is larger, respectively. However, I do not feel like they are "too" large, but this is a matter of my opinion. I believe the ernie ball locks are even bigger (not completely sure). The lock is not as easy to operate as the schaller because the schaller can be operated with two fingers, and the fender can be operated with three at the least. The only downside to these is that they rattle slightly when the weight of the guitar is not pulling on them (which is basically never). The locks seem very sturdy and Im not at all worried about them coming out. I am currently using them on my schecter 4-string. When attaching them, I realized I got more screw engagement by using the existing screw instead of the ones supplied with the locks. Overall awesome product.

    Comments about Fender Strap Lock:

They are to big to fit into my strap hole. Really liked my strap so I tried to cut the hole bigger to make them work & now they're no different than what I had(standard). My strap holes were pretty tight and never felt like I was going to drop my bass but got a new Fender J Bass for Christmas & just wanted to add these but now I need another strap!!!

The strap locks was a great buy, they are very sturdy I got them because my guitar kept slipping off the strap and now I do not have to worry. I've had them for three years, what a deal.

    Great Locks!

    By Matt Peterson

    Comments about Fender Strap Lock:

I've been playing with these strap locks for 3 weeks now and they are awesome. The only complaint I have about them is the screws they shipped with were smaller than the screws in my bass - which wasn't a huge deal because I was able to use the screws from the original pegs just fine. They look sharp and have not failed me yet. Also, I love having the Fender f on the locks. It is a personal thing, but I think it looks sharp! I'm using a thin Fender strap, but it felt like I could have at least doubled the size of the strap with no real issues - in case that is a concern for some.

    Work Great and Look Great

    By Deaner

    from Kansas City

    Comments about Fender Strap Lock:

I bought black pair of these to go on my Olympic White American Strat. I know strats are not the heaviest guitars, but recently it started coming off the strap during play. Installed in 10 minutes with no hang ups, they work perfectly, plus look very cool with the "F" logo. The guitar feels so much more secure, it really allows me to get after it, without the slightlest worry of the guitar dropping mid solo.

    Good, but could be better

    By Kevin

    from St. Cloud, Fla

    Comments about Fender Strap Lock:

This is a good product, but I do have one complaint on it. The top cap should have some teeth or way to prevent the cap from slowly unscrewing as the strap and guitar is moved around during playing. I move my guitar around a lot as I play (it's called showmanship) and I have to frequently re-tighten the cap so it doesn't completely unscrew and fall off (followed shortly by the strap and then my guitar).
