This is my main guitar...

By David Oakes

from Lewiston, ME

Comments about Fender Standard Telecaster Electric Guitar:

I'm a gigging musician that plays almost every weekend. I bought this guitar 3-4 years ago because my les paul wasn't cutting it for clean country. With that being said, my background is in classic rock and 80's era heavy metal. This one little unassuming guitar does it all!! The action, by far, is my favorite of any guitar i've used...the pickup sound amazing and the sustain goes on for YEARS. Great cheap guitar to gig with....my favorite!

Excelent Guitar!

By Kurt Stadtwald

from Chicago, IL

Comments about Fender Standard Telecaster Electric Guitar:

I bought this as my first electric guitar. I will tell you right now that this also won't be my last guitar from Fender. I have the Brown Sunburst, which has a beautiful wood grain. The quality is excellent(although I suggest that you buy the one that you try, as MIM's can have mixed quality.) The bridge pickup is bright, as you would expect from a telecaster, and the neck pickup has a dark sound. They do have a fair amount of hum, if that bothers you though. The neck is a breeze to play, and supports many different types of playing styles. The guitar sometimes falls out of tune frequently, but that can be fixed by tightening the tuners. Overall, an exelent guitar!

The Right Choice!

By Robert

from Monument Beach, Massachusetts

Comments about Fender Standard Telecaster Electric Guitar:

I recently purchased this guitar. This follows purchases of a Gretsch 5122DC and a Fender Stratocaster, both of which I love. However, since I opened the box the Telecaster has been in constant use! As others have said, it plays "like butter". The neck action is very smooth. The standard pickups are adequate. Workmanship is excellent. Your guitar can be made in a foreign country, or made in the USA by foreigners. Either way, it's a Fender in this case, and the quality of workmanship is very good. I echo comments of others who gave this guitar five stars. It's an excellent instrument for the money.

AMAZING!!!

By Josh Fish

from Harvard, MA

Comments about Fender Standard Telecaster Electric Guitar:

Before getting this guitar, my pride and joy was a custom Ibanez AX120 with EMG pups on it. I can't say this guitar replaces the Ibanez, but I can say it's just as good! The action is amazing, it stays in tune perfectly, it looks amazing, it's fairly cheap, and lastly: these pickups can SCREAM! Another thing about this guitar is how many different styles you can play with it. I play RadioHead and my band covers Escape The Fate, this Tele works fine in both areas. I would also like to add that I don't see much of a difference between Mexican and American made Fenders, other than the price. And my last thought is: This guitar smells good, completely serious...

Great & Versitile Instrument!!!!!!!!

By J. CHEEK

from London, Kentucky

Comments about Fender Standard Telecaster Electric Guitar:

I've owned my Fender Standard (Midnight Wine) for five months now and I absolutely love it. As anyone should expect, I had to adjust both the action and intonation after I received it but I haven't had any problems with the instrument. It stays in tune very well and frets easily. I'm still blown away at how sliky smooth the neck is and how easy it is to shred this baby. However, if you're looking for a metal guitar this is NOT the guitar for you. You just can't get the heavy growl with this baby.... Nevertheless, if your into blues, southern rock, alternative rock, country and jazz then look no further. The pickups are really crip and clear and provide a great platform for performing with clean channels. I've played several American Tele and honestly there's very little difference between the MIM models and American models. Actually the only notice is the feel in the urethane coating on the American models. I love this guitar and recommend it to anyone looking for a good Tele.

Beautiful in sound AND craftsmanship!

By Matt

from Oregon City Oregon

Comments about Fender Standard Telecaster Electric Guitar:

I just bought this model in the Midnight Wine/Maple fretboard.Absolutly an amazing sound quality. I am not affraid of playing or buying a Made in Mexico Fender guitar. My guitar is set up perfectly! The ONLY adjustment I had to make to it was the hieght of the bridge p/up. Other than that, this thing was dead spot on!!! If you want a full on metal guitar, pass on this one. Any other sound, BUY THIS MODEL!!!! I already have 2 Strats, and 1 Epiphone for all the other sounds I want. This guitar IS country. Be ready to get your country mojo on with this axe. As always, Guitar Centers service to me was excellent! Thanks to Zach @ Clackamas Guitar Center.

Made in Mexico - get over it!

By Charles Stanley

from Indianapolis, IN

Comments about Fender Standard Telecaster Electric Guitar:

Mexican Fender Guitars are made in Mexico by Mexicans. American Fenders are made in America by Mexicans. Get over it and buy a great guitar and then get $500 worth of pedals! I bought this Tele in midnight wine. My friend owns an American standard Tele. You can't see or hear any difference, at all. They look, play and sound the same. With today's laser-guided manufacturing systems, it no longer really matters which country the guitar is manufactured in. If this is your issue, don't worry about it. Like all telecasters, the single coil pickups (which you want because they sound better) can be subject to hum. You can get rid of that with a EG Humdebugger. Then you have a powerful classic with more punch than it's cousin the Stratocaster. Buy this guitar and enjoy the savings!

Great Guitar! BUY IT!

By Mikey Rodriguez

from Austin TX

Comments about Fender Standard Telecaster Electric Guitar:

This is an awesome guitar and incredibly versatile. I can play crunchy punk rock riffs to twangy/clean country leads. This tele does it all. This is the first Fender I bought and I am in love with it. It feels great in my hands and plays incredibly. It's also a really good looking guitar! It's a must in your instrument collection. If you're looking for a great sound and reliable guitar buy this one.

Amazing Guitar

By Gabe

from Florence, NJ

Comments about Fender Standard Telecaster Electric Guitar:

I had seen that one of my friends had bought an American made tele and he loved it. I was looking for an upgrade, this is deffinatley an amazing guitar. It is only my 3rd guitar but I do not regret it one bit. I got the Arctic White and it is so nice. It has a clean look to it...Also the pickups give alot of tone and the strings have great action. I was scepticle about the bridge pickup at first but I have come to realize that it is amazing. I dont have 1 bad thing to say about it. I heavily recommend this guitar to good beginners or solid intermediates. I would go and see which style or look you like the best at a store before ordering online. I also love the versatility of it. I use it for a lead in my band. I use it often to tab and also for rythmic stuff and its solid all around. DO NOT be fooled by the single coils...just because they are single coils does not mean they cant put out a beafy sound! The can put out rock and hard core sounds just like the humbuckers. All in all, its a great guitar for players everywhere.
