I have owned MANY guitars in the 31 years I have been playing. I have never been in a position financially to afford the high end American guitars (or even substantiate the cost). But Fender has found a way to bring it's quality to a middle-class income. This Stratocaster is "top notch"! I love everything about it...the looks (Arctic White w/Maple), the sound (playing any combination of pick-ups), and the feel (this guitar feels like it was custom fit to my body and hands). And to have what seems to be the perfect guitar for me, at an affordable price for the working man---all equals ABSOLUTE SATISFACTION! I play through a Fender Ultimate Chorus, and a Fender Hot Rod DeVille (these amps were used deals I got for cheap and on trade), and with this guitar, through those amps---I defy ANYONE to debate that they can tell the difference between this Made In Mexico, or an American Strat. I wanna thank Guitar Center in Cedar Rapids, IA. for setting me up with this beauty. They were more than helpful, when I explained what I was looking for was not in the store, so they ordered this one and had it shipped directly to my house---and their "price match" policy saved me about $40.00 as well. There were no issues with the guitar out of the box; of course there was some set up involved as with anything coming from a warehouse (they are in the business of SELLING guitars, not tuning them). This guitar will NEVER leave my collection. And what's more than that...I plan to ask Santa for a Midnight Wine w/Rosewood fretboard Strat for Christmas, to add to the collection as well.

I have had it a few months now. It's OK, I was expecting a leap from my old guitar to this one but that was not the case. I ordered it online, should have went in and tried it out. My Epi LP 100 was less than half the price of this one and it sounds, plays and feels way better than this strat in my opinion. Hopefully this will grow on me!!

Comments about Fender Standard Stratocaster Electric Guitar with Maple Fretboard:

This guitar wasnt that appealing to me at first because i had my eyes on an american standard, but i decided to take a shot and get this. Ive been playing Gibson, LTD and Ibanez electrics for 15 years. Always felt like single coils werent for me because they were too noisey. I'll admit the stock pickups aren't the best in this guitar, but since i put 3 emg active single coils in this thing it shreds. I havent played any of my other guitars since i had the emgs installed. The neck feels really nice and the maple fretboard is easy to glide up and down. The real reason im writing this review tho is for the people out there going back and forth between getting a mim or american made. I promise you that with the $600 you save by getting this instead of an american standard you can add some hot pickups, locking tuners, and a better bridge and make it sound better than any american made. Ive went back to guitar center and played the american deluxes even and i still preferred my guitar with the modifications ive done to it. Overall this was a project guitar, but now i couldnt be happier with it.

I purchase this fender guitar because one I've always wanted a fender but really couldn't afford their higher end models, two I always thought they looked cool and three I liked I really like the color that I chose which was Lake Placid Blue with a maple neck and fret board.

Comments about Fender Standard Stratocaster Electric Guitar with Maple Fretboard:

I wanted to try a Strat for a different sound and feel than my Les Paul. I played the American Standard and then picked up the Mexican Standard expecting to see a big difference. To my surprise the MIM guitar had a nicer feel, played nicely and sounded the same (to me). To be fair the American Strat had likely been on the floor for a while and probably needed to be restrung and maybe more. I play through a tweed Hot Rod Deluxe. I loved the feel of the neck with the satin finish and I chose the maple fingerboard. My only disappointment was it doesn't come in Olympic white. I bought the Artic. It needed a very slight truss rod adjustment which the helpful sales guy offered to do for me and I dropped the action down just a hair. The original strings on it took about an hour or so to settle down but after that the guitar has stayed perfectly in tune. I'm enjoying playing it and for my level of playing it is perfect/

Comments about Fender Standard Stratocaster Electric Guitar with Maple Fretboard:

It's been almost eight years since I have purchased this guitar and it still plays close to, if not as good as new. I have played American-made Strat's before and they are phenomenal, if you have the money to spend, by all means go get an American-made one. But you really can not go wrong at all with this guitar if you don't have a good grand or two to spend on the American-made one or if you wanna choose this one over the American-made (either way, you can't loose). I guarantee you that you'll get WAY more than your money's worth with this guitar. Nothing but good things to say about this guitar.

Comments about Fender Standard Stratocaster Electric Guitar with Maple Fretboard:

I've been playing Teles for about four years. I'm a working adult musician. For some snob reason I thought buying the more expensive models was the way to go over the years. I spent a couple days going back and forth form a few of these and useing an American Standard Strat as a guide line. Finally came to my senses and decided that for a bar room guitar this price point will work. I liked the brown burst color. Got it home and plugged it into my Blues Jr Tweed NOS and cranked it to bar levels. Tell you what, this could be the most impressive guitar out of the box I have ever bought. You have five different tones to work with. If you like jazzy and mellow just knock the tone knob down a few clicks. There is not the slightest blemish on the finish anywhere. The neck, frets, and setup is excellent. I thought maybe later I'd put different pickups in it. There is nothing wrong with these pickups. They can crank and keep their tone.
