This guitar is great I have the 3 tone sunburst with the maple neck and let me tell it feels awesome! When I play the neck feels so smooth and it's easy to switch between pick-ups and such. I play all kinds of music, My band plays heavy metal/thrash, and at school I play Jazz and Blues but I also love classic and hard rock, and this guitar is perfect for any of these. Plus if you turn up the volume all the way up on Bridge pick-up it gives you cool distortion!! It's also light and the whammy bar is great for playing Iron Maiden and Van Halen type stuff. I wouldn't change anything about this guitar it is A-MAZING!!!!!!!

Now, I had heard a lot of hype over the difference between USA and Mexican Fenders, but I never fully bought into it. So I was still debating on whether to get the Mexican or American Standard Stratocaster. I picked up one of these Mexican made ones and it got knocked out of tune in less than a minute of playing. I re-tuned it, and it happened again. The thing just could not stay in tune, so I returned it. It's a shame too, because the action was great, and it felt nice, but it just couldn't do its job. I don't know if I just got unlucky, but I returned it and I'm going to save for a USA made Strat instead, I'm not going to take the chance of getting another lemon. And American Fenders are pretty much a sure shot. If you're feelin' lucky, get this guitar.

Comments about Fender Standard Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

I have this guitar as a christmas present. The neck is so much smoother than the other strats i've played. It sounds great for anything from jazz to metal, it is a great upgrade from a squier. I Would recommend to use different strings like ernie balls super slinkys instaed of the fender strings. This guitar is great for no matter what style you play!

An Amazing Guitar

By TommyStratman

from NY New York

Comments about Fender Standard Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

Picked up this guitar today. White with a maple fretboard. It is lightweight, the neck is just so comfortable playing. The fit and finish are excellent! Whether playing through my Marshall Half Stack, or my Line 6 spider amp, the sound is just amazing. I would recommend this guitar to anyone looking for a first guitar, or a backup guitar. For the money, you can't go wrong! This one sits beside my Fender Deluxe Players Strat guitar.I am a big fan of Fender and will, in the future, add too my arsenal! Fender Rocks!

This is Great Guitar!

By RockStar94

from Washington D.C.

Comments about Fender Standard Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

Well, I had been playing guitar for a couple years, and i knew it was time to upgrade from my Epiphone Les Paul that I got as my first guitar. I picked it up at the store, and the sales reps where really helpful. At first, playing it in the store, it felt a little awkward because it really feels different from a Les Paul. But I decided to get it. I picked a Lake Placid Blue HSS one with a maple neck, and everyone keeps telling me how great it looks. It's a really pretty looking guitar once you see it in real life. Once you get a chance to play it a lot, it really starts to grow on you. Everytime I play it, live or in my bedroom, I like it more. If you are concidering this as an intermediate player i would definitely recommend it. It feels good, and it sounds great through all the pickups. But get a hardshell case, the gig bag wont give you enough protection for this.

Best $500.00 Guitar Out There!

By Jeffo46

from Woonsocket,R.I.

Comments about Fender Standard Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

I happen to own a 2006 60th Anniversary Commemorative USA made Strat and one of these in the Sunburst finish and I'll be honest with you, for the price this is the best $500.00 guitar out there today! This would give any American made Strat a run for it's money IMO. Ever since Fender institued the new upgrades back in 2006, the quality of the MIM Standards have vastly improved. The edges of the neck do not have any frets sticking out like some of the earlier models would, and the shielded compartments do a outstanding job of preventing pickup hum in pickup postions 2 & 4. The sustain that the thicker trem block allows is excellent while the jumbo frets allow for easier string bending, especially if you're a shredder like I am. I know some people complain about the ceramic pups on these but as far as I'm concerned I think they sound great and pack quite a punch, especially if you play hard rock and metal. This guitar can handle any style of music from Country to full out Metal, and is definately worth the price. Just make sure that it's setup properly and you're ready to go. You won't be dissapointed with this guitar, trust me!

Comments about Fender Standard Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

I play this guitar at every show. It has never let me down! Action is great! everything about this guitar is slick.. I've had MIA strats and the only difference I can see is the one fret. and the bridge. the bridge on the mim is slightly different but overall my mim strat plays just as good if not better than any strat I've played. no lie

A MUST HAVE!

By alexfenderhales

from Stamford, CT

Comments about Fender Standard Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

i have owned many guitars in my time. a Gibson Les Paul custom, Gibson SG, paul reed smith, american telecaster, and others. none of them compare to the sound and price of this straocaster. The pickups are very good, although i suggest replacing them with some seymour duncans. anyway, the pickups are very good for clean tones, and they are responsive to their tone controls which is always good. unlike their squiers, these have top of the line hardware, which makes tuning not a problem. The action is superb and it creates smooth playibility. Although, the distortion that can be made can be better. ive played it through MXR stompboxes and BOSS distortion pedals. the distortion is OK but lacks the raw cruch of double humbuckers like the les paul. Overall, this guitar has amazing clean tones and an adiquite fuzz tone, and very inexpensive! a must have

The New 2010 Model

By Mike Reynolds

from Marysville, WA

Comments about Fender Standard Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

Fender Mexican Made guitars have made a HUGE leap in quality over the last few years which now make them the BEST value for a quality guitar for a guitarist at any skill level. Here's why: Fender is now using higher quality hardware than every before. The quality bridge with the larger tremolo block and better wood body all give this guitar more tone and more sustain than you have expected from the Mexican Made Fenders. If you compare the new models from 2008 until present with the year 2000 model you can easily hear and feel the difference. The tone and sustain are on a new level. The pickups are also a huge upgrade from earlier models. These pickups are the most versatile pickup that I have ever heard from any Strat, mexican or american. They certainly have a very full sound with all of the Fender character. They are clearer, they are less noisy (the shielded pickguard helps immensely.) These are not thin, noisy or cheap sounding at all. They have plenty of body and heft. The clean sound is very glassy and full (which is also helped by the better sustain that the hardware gives you). If a dirty gritty rock sound, you will love these pickups played through an overdriven amp. I play the blues and am a pickup snob. Before I bought this guitar, I was prepared to have to go out and pay $200 for some really great pickups. After playing this guitar at the store and now bringing it home, there is NO WAY that I will want to switch these pickups out. There is more character in these pickups than I had dreamed was possible in a guitar that cost this much. The only flaws that I found with this guitar are with the Poly finish. I wish that Fender would market some of their Mexican guitars with a Nitro finish instead of the Polyurethane. The poly will keep your guitar looking new for years and years, but I like a more satin, matte finish. I personally decided to sand the back of the neck down with 100 grit paper, and added a linseed oil treatment which I finished off by buffing with steel wool. The neck now feels like a satin American made neck. (this took no time and no expertise at all.) Without a doubt I recommend this guitar to ANYONE who is looking for a quality instrument at a great value. There is no manufacturer that is making a higher quality guitar at this price point. This guitar could easily be played by a professional musician recording or gigging, and would also be a dream guitar to learn on. I am already planning to sell an American Strat that I have because this one is simply better.

Very, very pleased!

By Mark

from Sacramento, CA

Comments about Fender Standard Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

As a father on a budget, I wanted to promote my son's playing, but couldn't pop for the US-made Strat right now. He's an intermediate player and is starting to gain discerning taste when it comes to his guitars. He has 4 other guitars that I fear are going to collect dust as the sound the Strat produces is nothing less than stunning. This guitar is like a chameleon; regardless of the style you play, it can be as warm or crisp as you need it to be. The action is great and the look is classic. Rock hard, son!
