This is a great guitar for the beginner or intermediate player who wants to just grab a guitar and jam. It has the depth of an electric with a crisp and clean acoustic sound. Quickly throw it into the key of choice with the built-in tuner and plug it into an amp for an electric sound. For the price, there is nothing better. I play it every day and highly recommend it!

this was my very first guitar ever. i thought it was the best acoustic ever when i bought it. it turned out to be a good solid guitar, but it sounds a lot different than the regular-shaped acoustics. so im saying if you want a different sounding or good begginer guitar, you would like this. but if your looking for something more on the classic acoustic side, don't get this.

Love the Stratacoustic

By Bruce Glaze

from Wichita, Kansas

Comments about Fender Standard Stratacoustic Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I recently purchased the Stratacoustic in black. I am very pleased with it. Sounds great! Love the Stratacaster neck and styling. The thin body hugs you like a glove. The built-in tuner is handy. I'm overall very happy with it. I would recommend it for anyone that wants a cool looking and great sounding acoustic guitar.

Great

By Rob

from NJ

Comments about Fender Standard Stratacoustic Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Ive had this guitar (though my version doesnt have a built in tuner) for 3 years now, and its still my main writing guitar. It plays very well, it isnt too loud so it doesnt disrupt everyone in the house when i play it acoustically, its small, light and it never lets me down. the only downside is when you compare this guitar's sound to another acoustic, the fiberglass doesnt really mimic the sound wood very well. it has an almost plastic sound to it. Other then that, i can say i'll happily have this guitar for years to come.

love at first sight

By chubby

from cheyenne, wyoming

Comments about Fender Standard Stratacoustic Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

i recently purchased the stratacoustic and have used it for a gig so it allready paid for itself. i like the armour coating on the back it gives it a nice sound and limits feedback...the onboard tuner is handy...and the sound is great...i like everything about it. i had been shopping for a new elec-acoustic guitar and have tried many and was willing to pay up to 1k for it but when i saw the fender i was infatuated by its good looks and sound unplugged so when i heard it on an acoustic amp it was love so i didnt even ask how much it was..ill take it i said....so for the money this is a great buy and a great guitar. it allowed my 20+year old kramer teleacoustic to retire...i think ill go play it right now....

Awesome Mix!

By Ricardo

from Fresno, CA

Comments about Fender Standard Stratacoustic Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

just like everyone says it plays well and sounds great, this guitar is awesome I play it acoustically and electrically,... whether I make sense or not the guitar itself will prove valuable, I have a guitar class and they only want acoustics and I wanted electric so I looked for a little of both and found this...Love the feel of the electric and the sound the acoustic...very versatile...

Love the compact design

By Rodney

from Eugene,Oregon

Comments about Fender Standard Stratacoustic Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Great versatility with this guitar. Really love the compact design and the weight. The sound when plugged in is awesome and is fairly noticable when not plugged. Dreadnaughts can overpower this guitar when playing acoustically in groups. The strings should be replaced with better quality,if you bare chord a lot there is a lot of string sliding noise. Overall a very nice guitar for the money.

Great Guitar

By Abby H.

from Aurora, CO

Comments about Fender Standard Stratacoustic Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I recently bought the Stratacoustic, and I am really impressed with the quality of the guitar. It stays in tune really well, and the built-in tuner is wonderful. The frets are a little high, so soloing is hard to do on it, and the back of the guitar scratches eaisly if it is exposed to my belt buckle, or the zipper on my jacket. All in all, great beginner and intermediate guitar.

Worth more than the price!

By Andreo

from Hempstead, Ny

Comments about Fender Standard Stratacoustic Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I have been playing guitars for fourteen years and I own three acoustic guitars. My best acoustic/electric guitar is the Fender Acoustasonic Stratocaster, I have been looking for a new guitar to replace it(play with alternately). I bought this Fender Standard stratacoustic a week ago at the Guitar Center. I was very satisfied and this guitar supassed my expectation. My Acoustasonic Strat costs $1k and this one costs just a quarter of it. The best thing is this guitar sounds just the same as my expensive ones (plugged). I was suprised with how loud this guitar plays unplugged, these types of guitars are usually not load when unplugged because of its slim type body. I replaced the stock strings with D'Addario EJ15 extra light acoustic guitar strings and it produced a more warm crisp tone. The built-in tuner comes in handy for begginers. The equalizer (hi/mid/low) helps a lot to produce the tone desired (plugged). My dad wants to buy one for himself (Who is by the way a Pro/musician by trade). All in all, this guitar can be enjoyed by begginers and pro.

Great Guitar!!

By Jen

from Aurora, CO

Comments about Fender Standard Stratacoustic Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This guitar is awesome for any style guitar. It plays bright but sounds so warm and clean when you plug it in. Its light and easy for travel but can take any type of beating when you play it. I love how it plays like an electric.

Good for the right job

By Erik

from Midvale, UT

Comments about Fender Standard Stratacoustic Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I've had this guitar for about a month now. I noticed that most of the more negative reviews of this guitar either expected it to perform like a regular acoustic or even a regular electric and were disappointed. Of course it doesn't have the depth and volume of sound that an acoustic does, the body is only half the size, though a lot more volume than an electric. It sounds great plugged or unplugged. Although the neck has a more electric look to it, the action does react a lot more like an acoustic. It is a pretty sick looking guitar, which is one thing I do love about it. Fiberglass body seems pretty sturdy. There is a slight rattling issue on the low E string, but from my experience with this guitar, it is always remedied by better form.

awesome first guitar

By Kat

from La Plata, MD

Comments about Fender Standard Stratacoustic Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I asked my guitar playing husband to buy me a guitar because I wanted to learn (I am actually a drummer). He bought a Stratacoustic for me. It it great for a female player or anyone with small hands. I have only played my husbands Kramer ac/elec which is nice and thin. This one is thinner. I love it and the built in tuner is great for me because I can't quite tune it by ear yet. The action is awesome, though we put thinner strings on it. It is also awesome looking, and the back cannot be scratched up. It is a great guitar to learn on from a beginers perspective, and from an advanced players perspective it is a great little guitar that is fun to play and has great tone.

had to get used to

By guitarthingy1234

from personal

Comments about Fender Standard Stratacoustic Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

When i played this guitar i had to really get used to it because it actually felt like a electric guitar, and it was a little weird because on acustics i mostly play chords, and on electrics i mostly play notes and that kind of stuff,so i had to also get used to how skinny it was, but the sound was incredible! THAT'S WHAT I LOVE , plus its light this is a great guitar and i highly recommend it trust me its worth the money you just have to get used to it.

I love anything Fender, but....

By Craig

Comments about Fender Standard Stratacoustic Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Its an electric guitar that can double as acoustic, but really only in a pinch. On electric, you are playing with the big boys and the built in Fishman preamp (at least on my model) really delivers. If you play in a band, you can fire your bass player (!) if you crank the bass dial on the Fishman. Fun to play. Acoustic---I'd give it only a C (plus the fact that you can't play silently, such as on headphone amp). It sounds, acoustic, like a toy, something out of a box at ToysRUs. No power. No real voice. On mine the action was way too high (though I realize that the acoustic aspect makes the action higher than on my Stratocaster). The fiberglass body is a blessing and a curse---blessing in that its durable (and lightweight...half the weight of my American Custom Strat), curse---just sounds bland, even muffled. Even laminated pressboard would sound better. (I dunno...maybe I should swap out the strings). Be careful what you wish for. I wished for an acoustic with the thin neck I was used to on my Strat (hard for me to do barre chords on a dreadnaught acoustic), and I got it. The price to pay was very mediocre performance as an acoustic. Its dynamite on the Amp, however....but if you want to play electric, you really should consider a Strat or a Telecaster. Still I can never bad mouth a Fender so she gets four stars. Plus my Guitar Center price (slightly used) was attractive. I paid $189 and while its not quite what I had in mind, I wasn't cheated, either.

Great

By Kevin

Comments about Fender Standard Stratacoustic Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This guitar has a great acoustic sound and the quality is exellent!! Bravo fender, but i would only recommend this guitar to a beginner only ,this guitar is good but it doesnt have wut it takes to perform like a pro guitar( this was my first guitar ) overall here are my grades for this guitar: sound: 5/5 quality: 4/5( could use a touch up around neck areas) frets: 4/5 (instead of 21 try to make it 22) weigh: 4/5 (kinda heavy for an acoustic) electric guitar: 2/5 (when plugged into an amp with full tremble, it just sounds like a louder acoustic!) Overall: 19/25 not bad

stratacoustic

By BobDaBillder!!

from idaho

Comments about Fender Standard Stratacoustic Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

i dont own this guitar but i have been wanting it for awhile so i went into GC in boise idaho and was dink'n around with a bunch of guitars. i went into the acoustic room and there it was right in front of me. i will usually play most of the guitars that are in my price range but the two-three hours i was in there i was playing the stratacoustic. if your looking for a graphite back guitar this is the guitar for you. im an acoustic player most of the time so take it from me. buy this guitar if you want something that looks and sounds awesome, but if you have the money go for something different if you can and no this guitar isnt the best sounding guitar unplugged but in an amp this is a dream!!

good beginner guitar

By achantel

from dallas, tx

Comments about Fender Standard Stratacoustic Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I bought this after I had only been playing for a couple years. It was my first decent brand acoustic, and I bought it mainly because I thought it looked cool. (crazy right??) I still think it looks pretty cool and it makes transitioning from electric to acoustic easier. The thin body and neck make it super easy to play and it's a sturdy guitar..the only reason I put 3 stars is because of the sound. now that I've owned a ton of acoustics, I realize that the sound on this isn't too great. it sounds way better plugged in than not. I don't like the way any fiberglass back acoustics sound though so it's just my opinion. was a fun guitar to play around with back then!
