This is a great guitar for the beginner or intermediate player who wants to just grab a guitar and jam. It has the depth of an electric with a crisp and clean acoustic sound. Quickly throw it into the key of choice with the built-in tuner and plug it into an amp for an electric sound. For the price, there is nothing better. I play it every day and highly recommend it!

this was my very first guitar ever. i thought it was the best acoustic ever when i bought it. it turned out to be a good solid guitar, but it sounds a lot different than the regular-shaped acoustics. so im saying if you want a different sounding or good begginer guitar, you would like this. but if your looking for something more on the classic acoustic side, don't get this.

I bought this used for an electric guitar playing friend who can't seem to bond with an acoustic guitar. When it arrived i took it home to run it through it's paces and make sure everything worked properly. To my surprise it sounds fairly descent for a shallow body ovation/applause style instrument- AND way easier on the pocketbook. I plug into my all tube 12w. amp and (holy-smokes)this little guy steps up and rips some great acoustic tone. I don't say this offhand- i've been playing live for 40yrs and i myself roll acoustic L5 gibsons through 12w. tube amps- you really can't get more tone than that. SO, in conclusion, everybody that whines about the sound not being full acousticly, please, this is NOT a full bodied handmade martin, gibson, or the like, it is a hybid acoustic/electric and meant to be played through an amp- and this is where the instrument shines- while YOU are struggling with feedback and notch filters and all the other accompaning outboard gear to make your 3,000 dollar handmade flattop stop behaving badly on stage, the guy next to you playing his fender stratacoustic is tearing it up and sounding great doing it with none of the accompaning acoustic nightmares most of us acoustic players struggle with. BUY one and rock out bro, you will be surprised!
Remember, this is a made in China product...but it is really slick. Strat neck and body style: a great practice guitar at a really low price that one does not have to worry about. Plays OK acoustically; not very loud, but that is expected by the chamber volume. Action came very high...that is fixable by sanding the bridge nut on a flat surface; if you screw up, an extra bridge comes with the Stratacoustic. I learned how to fix the bridge on youtube...it worked perfectly. Sounds great through an amp; just be aware that acoustic resonance and feedback can be a problem...works great with Flanger, Phaser, Chorus pedals; not so great with reverb or delay through a conventional "hot" tube amp. Get one today..Fender Rocks, as usual.
well iv had my stratacoustic for about three months now it was my first guitar i really like it but the strings are way to high its hard to press and learn to play chords it takes a lot more effort to press the strings down on this guitar than any other guitar i have played but the sound is really beautiful that this guitar produces i give it a 4 out of 5
this guitar is ok. it is hard to srtum. the tuner is off. also a few days after i got it the nut to the amp plug fell off. so it is an ok buy but really for beginners.
I knew I'd be giving up tone given the thin body but this one's got more issues than that. I made the mistake of ordering this online instead of checking it out at my local Saginaw GC. This will never happen again. Understanding the body was fiberglass prior to ordering, I figured that having the Fender emblem meant their people in China convinced them it was worth putting on the market. BTW... Kudos to the engineer that had the idea to include the equivalent of a spray-on truck bed liner in order to cover up whatever flaws would have been apparent in the finish of the one piece back and sides. You go, boy! At best this should have been going for roughly 60 bucks. Sporting some sorta Disney theme on the front might bump it up another 20 I imagine. Actually, when I returned it the following day to GC, I purchased a big boy acoustic that Drew had just finished putting new strings on. I ended up walking out more than satisfied with my "new to me" Ibanez EWC30 that appears to never have been touched. I give it 3 stars mainly for the amazing timing it provided me to grab this gorgeous Ibanez.
the feel and the balance are good as a travel practice guitar, My job requies travel and I dont want to haul around one of my stage guitars or a collector model. My Gibsons are my favorite but too valuable to travel. My standard strat is too quiet to play without an amp, and I don't want to haul that too. At practice tonight all the players wanted to play this stratacoustic and all commented that it felt great.
This guitar needs a set up by someone that knows their way around. Fortunately I'm able to do my own work. From the box, it was "Meh" but sturdy, balanced nicely and fit my needs for a travel acoustic. I took it to my home workshop, put a shim under the neck to increase the angle a little, lowered and shaped/intonated the saddle. Strung with d'Addario 10's phosphor bronze. Plays like a champ now, even unplugged it's got quite a remarkable sound all the way up the neck and the action is now the same as my Strat or Telecaster at 5/64 on bass side 4/64 on treble. I was able to get this with a coupon and paid much less. It's the best travel and couch guitar I own, but even better plugged into a decent acoustic amp with a little reverb and it's a stage winner that feels like your playing a Strat!! Don't be afraid to give this one a shot, it's better than you think!
I have been playing guitar for about 10 years now and this is one of the best that i have gotten. I play mostly country and this guitar gives off a wonderful sound. The tuner on the top of the guitar is excellent. All in all this is a great instrument for both beginners and pro's.
I've had this guitar for about a year now. It was my first guitar ever. It lasted great for awhile and then I replaced the strings with Ernie Ball Super Slinky Acoustic strings and it sounded great. But as another reviewer said I have a problem with the buzz on the Low E string. I also have a problem with the B string always getting out of tune but other than that string this guitar stays in tune great. The acoustic sound doesn't compare to other acoustics, but this guitar wasn't made just to be an acoustic. It sounds amazing plugged in, and sounds great with distortion, recommended for any beginner or even an expert.
The fender strat acoustic is an amezing guitar. It doesn't sound like most acoustics it has this sort of ambiance to it's sound.
