Great Buy

By BassBoss

from Philadelphia, PA

Comments about Fender Standard Precision Bass:

Got a wicked deal on this bass. Ended up picking it up on clearance for $299, with a $60 gig bag thrown in for free. I own a 1975 Rickenbacker that is undergoing a major refurbishing. I was looking for a steady bass to rock in the mean time without breaking the bank. I plugged into my rig and hardly missed a beat with this thing. This bass is incredibly playable. At a regular price of $424 I would say that this bass easily holds its own against many double the price. The tone is great, the action is great, and it looks great!

THINK TONE

By ShirleyURJoking

from Madison,WI

Comments about Fender Standard Precision Bass:

To begin with there are only two basses that matter...a Fender Precision or a Fender Precision. This is an excellant example of a MIM P bass. Mine plays smooth and the intonation was right on straight from the box. Only crit. was that the tone knob was loose but that is an easy fix. I picked up the Arctic white along with an Ampeg B2-RE w/6x10HLF classic. Just truely a beautiful sounding rig. At this this price point you can't loose. Going to stop writing now so I can play. Think Tone.

great bass

By Bassdude523

Comments about Fender Standard Precision Bass:

I recently bought this bass and so far I am very impressed. It is much better than my old one (Kramer). It is a very standard bass with nothing flashy or special about it, but it definatley gets the job done.

Worlds better than a Squier

By GuitarDude14

from Murfreesboro, TN

Comments about Fender Standard Precision Bass:

I tried this bass out at my local guitar store and it sounded amazing, even on a little 15-watt amp! I compared it to a Squier precision bass and this bass sounded much better. I ended up buying the Squier because I was low on cash. I deeply regret my decision, and I should have just saved a little more and bought the Fender.

Great Bass that will fit your budget

By Oxfan

from Rochester, Pa.

Comments about Fender Standard Precision Bass:

Picked one up this past Saturday at the Robinson store. I had decided to "settle" for a Standard but, was extremely satisfied with the the bass I purchased. The finish was awesome and, it plays like a Fender. If you're on a budget, check it out, I,m completely satisfied. This is the second bass I've purchased from Guitar Center, it's just too easy, the only hard part is making up your mind. ask for Glenn, great person!

A Solid Bass

By Eric

from Lansdale, PA

Comments about Fender Standard Precision Bass:

I have been a guitar player for years and recently started to play bass. Fender has always been a trustworthy company and the value on this bass was hard to beat. Mine is the chrome red color. The color and finish quality are great, the pictures really do not do justice. It is a traditional passive Precision Bass, so there are not a lot of features, but it works very well for what it is intended. The volume and tone knobs are very responsive and work smoothly. The tuning keys work well and stay in tune. I have heard complaints about the stock bridge, but I haven't had any problems and it has been solid. The sound is just what a passive bass should be, nice and punchy, and the pickup has relatively high output. Out of the box this bass played well, with only very minor adjustments to the action. The frets were well done, no sharp edges and no buzzing. Overall I am very satisfied with this bass and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a solid bass.

Comments about Fender Standard Precision Bass:

This is one of the best basses out there, simply due to its simplicity. If you do not feel like buying one of those active basses with 5 different nobs, this bass is for You. Roll the knob forward=phenominal rock tones. Roll The knob backwards=phenominal finger grooving, RB tones. Your can't go wrong with this one. But can somebody please tell me, WHY DONT THEY MAKE THESE WITH MAPLE NECKS!!!!!!!!!

Awesomeness in a Chunk of Wood

By Steve

from Chicago, Illinois

Comments about Fender Standard Precision Bass:

This bass is awesome. My last bass wasnt so good and this was such a step up. It's a great second bass or amazing first bass. The tone is richer than Chuck Norris swimming in gold. Take it from me that this is a great buy.

Great Bass

By nick

Comments about Fender Standard Precision Bass:

This is a great beginner's bass. I have it and have had it for a while. It is still a great bass. I have a few friends who toured with one and it lasted through all his crazy stage antics. He eventually got a new bass, but he still keeps this one as his direct back up.

A Classic Bass

By Buddha

from The Woodlands, TX

Comments about Fender Standard Precision Bass:

Fender P-Bass, a bass that every bass player has or at least has played one. It has the perfect sound that every bassist wants. Everything on this bass is perfect except there are just a few minor problems due to it being made in mexico but they are only cosmetic and it doesnt affect the sound.

Good Bass

By Josh

from Anoka, MN

Comments about Fender Standard Precision Bass:

I don't own this, but my drummer has one so I use it all the time. It's put together very nicely. The tone that you can get out of it is incredible. I wish it had a bass knob too, not just a volume and a tone. This is a nice bass.

Fender? Standard Precision Bass

By Chris A

from Walla Walla, WA

Comments about Fender Standard Precision Bass:

Well I read about this guitar when Guitar Center interviewed MIKE DIRNT. And I thought that I'd get it.. so I did! and well, here is what MIKE DIRNT said about this great bass: "On this record [Nimrod], I used Precision basses because my old Gibson G-3 didn't sound good with the new songs. I used a '66 and '69; they have a real warmth on the low end. For this record I knew we weren't going for the huge guitar sound; this gave me more room to get in there. I needed to play a real punchy bass on the old records because the guitar frequencies where everywhere and I needed to get right in the middle. I recorded Dookie with a Percision bass too. I use Mesa/Boogie amps, MB 2000's. They're half-tube and half-solid state. I wanted to custom-make my own sound , and Mesa/Boogie was really willing to work with me. They made me 6x10 cabinets, and we put those on top of a 1x18. I think i'm nailing it. I have an MB 2000 running each one of my 6x10 cabinets and then a MB 2000 running both of my 18's."

Comments about Fender Standard Precision Bass:

This is the first review for me but I thought this bass is worth it.After trying several basses at a store, this one shined through them all.If you play country mixed with a little rock and blues this fills the bill. For the cost and resale value you cant loose.Go try one for yourself.I bet you will buy it.

If you have a bass already don't bother

By Uber Moose

from Rockford MI

Comments about Fender Standard Precision Bass:

Its not bad at all... for beginers. It was my first bass and it performs well. Its pretty durable.(been droped a few times. most NOT my fualt...Mark!)If you Play metal (a.k.a. Drop-c Or lower)I would not suggest it because the E string tends to hit the fret board a lot in lower tunings even with firmer strings. Also if you like to jump around and such when you play it will be hard cuz the bass isn't balanced well and the neck will tip lower and lower making it hard to play. All in all it has a good sound and is great for beginers.

A solid bass

By A solid bass

from Kentland, Indiana

Comments about Fender Standard Precision Bass:

I've had mine for about two years and strings are the only thing you worry about when you own one of these little workhorses. She's not exotic in looks or color but she's dependable night in , night out. You bring 'er to the gig on saturday, the open jams on thursday. It's funny now that I'm older and I can afford to buy what I want without starving like when I was a kid all these affordable, great sounding basses are out on the market. Then you can buy more than one bass, huh?

One of my first basses

By Blinkfan08

from Princeton MN

Comments about Fender Standard Precision Bass:

I got this bass a few years ago it was my first bass that wasn't a walmart custom model . I bought it and ordered almost a hundred dollers or more in parts the day i bought it at guitar center . I got stings , black tuners , Seymore Duncan SPB-3 quarter pound basslines pickups , black pickguard , the usual strap and hardshell case , i even bought strap locks for her cause i don't want it to fall at a gig . What can i say the tone is amazing so fat and punchy . I run it through an ampeg BA-115HPT . It sounds amazing . I get comments on it at gigs for the sound and the overall visual apperance . I have always liked Fender and they haven't let me down . Great Bass .
