Comments about Fender Standard Precision Bass Guitar:

I'm a guitar player that deep down inside knows I should have been a bass player. I really love this bass because as picky as I am about tone, this one nailed it. The action is the best you can get, and this thing plays as good as $1,800.00 basses in the blindfold test. Tone is on the same level, extremely sweet mid-punch and thundering lows. Even if I had two grand to shell out on a P style bass, I don't see why anyone would waste the money, put the difference in the amp and cab because this bass is righteous on its own. The alder body is comfortable, moderate in weight and sounds amazing. The neck is smooth, frets are finished nicely, and zero buzz anywhere with the action set to the lowest Fender Spec's 1/8th" at twelfth fret and about 14-15 thou of neck relief at 9th fret with 1st fret and 14th fret capo'd. After spending a lot of time searching for my 'guilty pleasure', I found the right thumper. I'm running it through a 1 x 15" cab with horn (defeat able) and I like the well rounded bottom end. If I had to say unsupported on the neck strap which way the weight leans, I would say towards the neck but you almost have to help it drift down so I don't see it as a problem. I let go of it on the strap and it's stable where I leave it. Tuners are just a bit sensitive but I've gotten used to coming up to pitch a little easier than with a guitar. The volume, and tone pots are smooth as silk and responsive proportionately to the turn. I will have this bass in my collection for a long time, I don't see any reason to second guess my purchase, and neither will you. Fender (F.M.I.C.) scores big with this bass!!!!Sunburst finish is beautiful. Thank you Fender for such a great value.

Comments about Fender Standard Precision Bass Guitar:

What more is there to say? It's a time-tested design. There were basses at lower price points that I liked, but when I started playing this, it just felt like the bare minimum for something I'll keep for years. So glad I got this one.

Comments about Fender Standard Precision Bass Guitar:

After going through many basses I finally found the one bass that provides me with the tone and flexibility I need to play in different genres of music. The setup right out of the box was perfect. I changed the strings from round wound to TI flat wound strings and the neck did not need an adjustment. I'm very very very content with the Fender P bass. I will have this bass for long time.

Comments about Fender Standard Precision Bass Guitar:

I originally purchased the J Bass, which I really liked. It had wiring issues from the factory so I went to my local GC after only having it a short time, and they said go grab a new guitar!!! I played this and really liked the "punchy" classic Fender bass sound so I got one in sunburst. Call it fate, but I got a second chance to rethink my original choice.

Like all instruments, it's the heart and soul you pour into them that make them come alive. Down the road I'll prob upgrade the pick ups at some point. My advice is go with what feels good and don't feel like you have to spend a fortune in the process. I have ran it through my Acoustic 30w and Fender Rumble 500w amps, it rocks through both of them.

Also, props to GC for always taking care of my needs. It's your people and customer service that keeps me a customer for life as I have bought a ton of stuff with you over the last 15+ years. Keep it up!

            Great bass

            from roseville ca

Comments about Fender Standard Precision Bass Guitar:

this bass is amazing. their are many great qualities to these basses for starters the "modern c" shaped neck is just a dream, its not really even "C" shape its more "D" shaped which is wider and not so baseball bat shaped like the ones from the 90s. another great feature of this bass is the tuners, they are very reliable ive never once had them fail me on stage.this bass has amazing resonance and sounds fantastic acoustically. this bass is gorgeous and i receive compliments on it all the time. the pickups in this bass are ok, nothing spectacular nothing worth talking about if you really want to make this bass sing you can swap out the pickups for some seymour duncan quarter pound pick ups like i did. one thing i didnt particularly care for on this bass were the strap buttons, for me they were always coming loose and making me worry that i might drop it so i replaced them with the dimarzio clip strap locks and now i know longer have to worry about it. my final complaint about this is the standard nut when mine was still in it was completely deteriorating it was chipped everywhere for some reason but its a simple fix just slide the nut out and replace it with a brass one and that problem will be fixed. so all in all this bass is excellent for the money and if you want to put more money into it and make it a great bass this bass is super easily modifiable.

            Great Fender Bass

            By Raul Ortega

            from Miami,Fl.

Comments about Fender Standard Precision Bass Guitar:

I bought this bass from a young man in a private sale. Originally it had green neon strings, which I didn't like. I had them changed. Last month I tookk my bass to GC Doral Center trying to sell it. I didn't get another bass I liked, as their sales staff tried to sell me a Squier Bass made in China, which I wasn'thappy about. I decided to keep the bass, and had the neck straightened and tuned. They did an excellent job onthe bass. I like this bass guitar, even though I find it a little heavy,as its a long scale bass. This bass is an excellent bass for beginners, and for seasoned players. Fender has made an excellent bass for the price and of good quality.

When I decided to learn to play,I wanted to keep it Simple. This bass does just that. Its got great feel and sound. And it's easy to move about the fret board.MIM,Is great for starters as well as seasoned players. The action was off, at purchase, GC did the set up for me and its been Flawless ever since. I also went online and picked up "teach me bass Guitar " Lesson plans, which have kept me busy..For me 5 stars. No issues and easy playability.

            Almost perfect

            By Sir Gorney Weaver

            from New York, NY

Comments about Fender Standard Precision Bass Guitar:

These Mexican builds are pretty solid. I bought the Lake Placid blue and have received several compliments on its looks. I don't think it has the same super huge, earth-rumbling bass sound that you'll find in a classic Precision, but it still punches, and the action / comfort of the neck is actually better than the two American-made Precisions that I own.

Comments about Fender Standard Precision Bass Guitar:

Wow! What more can I say about this amazing bass? This has to be one of the best basses I have ever played. The neck feels amazing. It stays in tune very well and the neck never has to be adjusted. The quality and reliability is amazing! Mine is over 10 years old and it sounds and looks just like the day a bought it. The pickups sound great and have that nice punchy low end, but also keeping the snappy highs as well. The weight is perfect for any kind of player and if you are a beginner or an expert this bass is perfect. You cannot go wrong buying this bass!
