this bass is amazing. their are many great qualities to these basses for starters the "modern c" shaped neck is just a dream, its not really even "C" shape its more "D" shaped which is wider and not so baseball bat shaped like the ones from the 90s. another great feature of this bass is the tuners, they are very reliable ive never once had them fail me on stage.this bass has amazing resonance and sounds fantastic acoustically. this bass is gorgeous and i receive compliments on it all the time. the pickups in this bass are ok, nothing spectacular nothing worth talking about if you really want to make this bass sing you can swap out the pickups for some seymour duncan quarter pound pick ups like i did. one thing i didnt particularly care for on this bass were the strap buttons, for me they were always coming loose and making me worry that i might drop it so i replaced them with the dimarzio clip strap locks and now i know longer have to worry about it. my final complaint about this is the standard nut when mine was still in it was completely deteriorating it was chipped everywhere for some reason but its a simple fix just slide the nut out and replace it with a brass one and that problem will be fixed. so all in all this bass is excellent for the money and if you want to put more money into it and make it a great bass this bass is super easily modifiable.
I bought this bass from a young man in a private sale. Originally it had green neon strings, which I didn't like. I had them changed. Last month I tookk my bass to GC Doral Center trying to sell it. I didn't get another bass I liked, as their sales staff tried to sell me a Squier Bass made in China, which I wasn'thappy about. I decided to keep the bass, and had the neck straightened and tuned. They did an excellent job onthe bass. I like this bass guitar, even though I find it a little heavy,as its a long scale bass. This bass is an excellent bass for beginners, and for seasoned players. Fender has made an excellent bass for the price and of good quality.
When I decided to learn to play,I wanted to keep it Simple. This bass does just that. Its got great feel and sound. And it's easy to move about the fret board.MIM,Is great for starters as well as seasoned players. The action was off, at purchase, GC did the set up for me and its been Flawless ever since. I also went online and picked up "teach me bass Guitar " Lesson plans, which have kept me busy..For me 5 stars. No issues and easy playability.
These Mexican builds are pretty solid. I bought the Lake Placid blue and have received several compliments on its looks. I don't think it has the same super huge, earth-rumbling bass sound that you'll find in a classic Precision, but it still punches, and the action / comfort of the neck is actually better than the two American-made Precisions that I own.
Wow! What more can I say about this amazing bass? This has to be one of the best basses I have ever played. The neck feels amazing. It stays in tune very well and the neck never has to be adjusted. The quality and reliability is amazing! Mine is over 10 years old and it sounds and looks just like the day a bought it. The pickups sound great and have that nice punchy low end, but also keeping the snappy highs as well. The weight is perfect for any kind of player and if you are a beginner or an expert this bass is perfect. You cannot go wrong buying this bass!
I got this as my first bass when I was 12-13 in 2006, and I love it. I modified mine with new pickups, bridge and heavier strings, and it sounds and feels amazing now. The neck feels just right all around, the weight is perfect, I honestly judge all other basses by this bass. I suggest trying it out, then taking it to a bass-specific luthier to have a look-see. Never regretted this bass.
I've owned a Fender Precision Bass for about 2 and 1/2 years now and it's definitely paid for itself in quality. These guitars give out great tone and are really easy to play once you adjust the action. The only downside is they are Mexican-made guitars and i had to re-solder a few wires and replace the volume pot. Other than that, it's a must-have for beginners.
