Got this guitar about two weeks ago and it was definitely worth the investment. It definitely needed to have a good set up done on it but once it was set up it was way better than it was in the store (which wasn't bad mind you). I, unlike some others, actually liked the strat headstock on it and I chose the black finish. The black matching headstock with the gold Fender log on it is really sharp. I usually play electric so this having the ability to plug in was an added bonus. Tuner and EQ work great. It seems to be well made and the bindings look really nice, not cheap at all. The guitar sounds really nice and has a good deep tone, very warm. I, like anyone, played some of the $600, $1000 and above to see the difference and where yes there were some nicer guitars but for the money this one suited my needs. Like any new guitar, you'll definitely need to set this one up (the first one I had tried had a hump in the neck so bad they took it off the sales floor) but once you do I think anyone would be happy with it. If you buy online check the neck but GC is always VERY helpful with returns, etc. I have bought from them many many times with only a few returns and when I needed to they were awesome.
I needed a new acoustic-electric for my studio, and wandered in to guitar center's acoustic room to check out some models. This thing was on a floor stand, and although it looks silly with the strat headstock and pearl binding, I picked it up and gave it a try. As I was trying out everything else in the room, I kept coming back to this one. The sound is very appealing, and the action and set-up were as good if not better than the $1,000+ gibsons and others in the room. I decided to look past the looks (it is a studio guitar, so who cares what it looks like?) and take it home. I've only had it a day but I've been very happy. The in-line tone responds well to processing and the natural sound comes through very well when mic'd. I would definitely recommend this guitar to anyone looking for a good recording instrument.
I found one of these in Sea Foam Pearl at guitar center, When I first saw it I thought it was ugly, so I gave it a try. I immediately noticed how cool it sounds. It has a very melodic, almost creamy tone. I slowly fell in love with the color and I ended up taking it home. I'm a big fan of the Fender style, and the painted Strat style headstock really gives this thing a classic look. On the Sea Foam one, the pick guard, neck inlays, and all of the binding are pearl which looks amazing. The fingerboard and bridge on mine are a very dark rosewood. I really dig the classic look of this thing. Sounds good looks good, great guitar for the price.
