Of all my guitars which include a couple of very nice Jacksons, an American Strat and Tele, an awesome Schecter, an Aria and my Showmaster. The SM has really become my favorite. It can do eveything from blues to metal. A fantastic all around guitar.
Today I went to my local Guitar Center, and I played the Fender Showmaster QMT HH Electric Guitar, and I have to tell you...I am thoroughly impressed! I have always liked Fender products, but unfortunately have never owned one. Some of my friends do, so I play theirs when I can. I have many custom shop guitars and one, one of a kind guitar, and over all this guitar suits my purposes thoroughly. In my 12 years of playing I have rarely picked up a guitar that I just fell in love with, but in this case...I think I have. I actually had them put mine on hold, so I can come back tomorrow and pick it up. So, during my 2 hours I spent playing it in the store today...my hand never got tired or cramped. I venture to say that this is my favorite Fender guitar that I have ever had the pleasure of playing. So, thanks Fender and Guitar Center, I am thoroughly pleased.
Ok Guitarists, I own 2 guitars right now one is a Jackson RR3 the other is a Taylor BigBaby Electric Acoustic. I was at GuitarCenetr January 13, 2007 and I was looking around for about 1 hour. I picked up a couple guitars that looked nice neck-thru style. Finally it was time to go. I was walking out the door when I turned around I see this Fender Guitar staring right at me glowing. It was kinda hidin. I picked this Guitar up and it was light weight and a neck-thru at that. I plug this guitar in on a Fender Amp Oh My God. I Instantly started jamming out the tunes. The feel of this Guitar is really really amazing. I played for about 30 minutes and that was all I needed to make the decision. She was going to be mine. I got the last one. 8-). The tones that came out of this Guitar in all five switching positions is incredible. I really dont mind that it is not American made. What really got me was what you could do on this Guitar. The action the feel the whole package ROCKS 2007. P.S. They are limited So have fun finding one.
Very nice guitar for the price. has a very solid sound to it. nice bright sound when playing clean and a hard crunch on distortion. it took alot of tweaking with the hardware to get it set up the way i wanted it though.
I bought this bad boy! I didn't buy it yet but I played it for a few hours at my friends house (he owns five guitars including this baby). This is a great axe for people who play different styles of music. It's specialty though, is metal. 'Enter Sandman' sounds great on the Showmaster as does 'Hysteria' by Muse. The only thing I gripe about is the tremolo. I could stand paying a few hundred bucks more if it had a Floyd Rose Trem. But it still is a great guitar and of course you can't miss the look of it. It's probably Fender's most radical design to-date.
I've had this guitar for the better part of nine months now and I've never regretted buying it. I played it through a 120w Crate combo amp for most of the time I've had it and got a great metal sound from the pair and also a great clean sound. I've recently upgraded to a Marshall MG100 Half-Stack and it sounds even better. This guitar can pretty much do it all.
I have been waiting a long time for this guitar. To get the black cherry burst finish, it seems like i had to look all over the country. Some people told me they aren't making them right now but i don't know. Any this is simply an amazing guitar. It looks amazing and plays accordingly. The weight is really just perfect. I held a lot of guitars while searching and the showmaster really just seemed to feel like it "fit" above all the others. I'm currently playing this out of a vox valvetronix 30w. I can honestly play ANY kind of music i want from Cash to Slayer. The action is great as well. If you want a guitar that can do it all and look sexy all the while, but you're on a smaller budget...go for the Showmaster(cherry burst, good luck finding it)
