I paired this little monster up with the 4X10 and 1X15 RUMBLE stack...Talk about "pushing air"! The tone goes from a crisp, brilliance (BRIGHT SWITCH in the tone pallet) to a deep, throaty, tube sound (VINTAGE SWITCH in the tone pallet). There is also a CONTOUR SWITCH (almost like a compressor) that gives you a soft, mid-range cut that's great for jazz. The OVER-DRIVE is the best I've ever used and offers a wide range of effects. The unit is feather light and comes with a sturdy, padded, gig bag. As far as power; you can play just about any gig short of a "stadium". So far I've found no faults with the head, though I think a "clip" indicator would be helpful. I've been playing bass for 45+ years and have never been disappointed with Fender.

Excellent Value

By Mark Pawelski

Comments about Fender Rumble 500W Bass Amp Head:

I am very happy with the new Fender Rumble V3 bass amp that i purchased. I can get any sound that I may want out of it, and the 500 watts of power is plenty of power. I also purchased two Fender speaker cabinets.........the Rumble 115 and the Rumble 410. The sound I get from this combo is great. I would highly recommend this set up to any bass player looking for power and quality tone. FIVE STARS from me.

Way to go Fender!

By Mike

from Clinton, IA

Comments about Fender Rumble 500W Bass Amp Head:

The new Rumble series is just what millions of us weekend warriors have been asking for. While Ampeg trudges along getting their updated BA-series out, Fender has beaten them to the punch with an excellent dollar-to-performance product. The head offers a ton of volume, compact size, and enough versatility in tonal options to satisfy the majority of its users. Mine is coupled with the Rumble 115 cab and it's a great combination. Old school vibe, especially with the vintage button pushed in. The padded case for the head is an added bonus, but is great when moving it. I'm looking to adding a second 115 for outdoor gigs, but 350 watts into the single cab should give you plenty of bottom end for most shows. It definitely should be put on your shortlist.

Almost 5 stars...

Comments about Fender Rumble 500W Bass Amp Head:

But... all the screws were loose on the head when I bought it. I plugged it into my new Fender Rumble v3 4x10 cabinet and the head rattled and rattled! Before returning the whole thing I figured I would check all the screws on the head- and everyone of them was loose and needed tightening. Really? Is this Fender quality control??? I know I didn't spend a thousand bucks on my rig, but c'mon! After tightening all the screws the rattling and buzzing went away. Other than that I'm happy with it. It sounds good and looks cool. But a big thumbs down to Fender. If you buy this head have a Phillips screwdriver handy.

Comments about Fender Rumble 500W Bass Amp Head:

I got this head along with the rumble 410 cab. It sounds great! I really enjoy the different settings as far as bright/contour/vintage. They really make a difference and you can really focus your sound/tone the way you want it. It's lightweight and comes with a gig bag to carry the head along with cables you need.

      It's Perfect

      By Conan

Comments about Fender Rumble 500W Bass Amp Head:

I just received it yesterday and love it. I paired it with the 410 Rumble cabinet. I was worried it wouldn't have enough bottom end without a 15" speaker, but it has plenty. It has great tone and all the power I'll ever need. It fits together nicely with grooves for the head that are magnetized to keep the head from moving around. It's quite handsome looking as well. I'm not a huge fan of the overdrive, then again I've been spoiled by having a Musicman all-tube head, only 75 Watts though.

              Does what it should

              By David

              from Corona, CA

Comments about Fender Rumble 500W Bass Amp Head:

Received this amp a few weeks ago and plugged it into a new Bassman 115 Neo. Plenty of power for the money and size, can always add another cab if need a bit more volume I suppose. Handles the lows of my 5 string P-bass and sounds like a P-bass should. Was tempted to buy an expensive tube amp, but it was not in the budget. Plus I appreciate the light weight and simple set up. If nothing else, grab one as a backup for your expensive and heavy 65 pound tube amp that you don't want to risk at church bazaars and rowdy venues.

Comments about Fender Rumble 500W Bass Amp Head:

For the price, weight, size, and options, this is a great head. It's as loud as I'll ever need and with the Vintage, Contour, and Bright presets plus the 4 bar knobs, it's very versatile. Overall, pretty fantastic. The reason I give 4 stars instead of 5 is that the overdrive doesn't overdrive as much as I'd like. Even with the level all the way right its just noticeable. But, silver linings, if I turn the overdrive level to zero and use the footswitch to activate it, it becomes a mute switch, something this head lacks. So there you go. I'd buy it again for sure but I may have to shop around for an overdrive pedal.

Comments about Fender Rumble 500W Bass Amp Head:

This amp is amazing. I was going back and forth between this and another 500 watt light head. I thought this was more pleasing to my ear and the music I play. I was replacing a heavier head that I had used for years and was starting to fade and give me problems. I was looking for a lighter head with tons of power. This head sounds powerful especially with the fender cabs. I use it with 2x12's (Genz Benz and a Avatar) and it sounds punchy and warm as heck. It has a D.I in the back which is great when you are playing bigger venues and the soundman wants you to go through PA. I was worried about volume but I have used it with a 1x12 and it was more than loud enough to hear over my hard hitting rock drummer. I had the dial at 6 (maybe even 5) and it was more than enough. The only thing I wish it had was speakon connections. Just because that is what my cabs had. I was able to purchase 1/4 to speakon and I was good to go. The amp comes with a bag so its easy to carry. I only have to make one trip from the van (cab in one hand, bass in gig bag around shoulder and this bag on other shoulder) so that in itself is huge. I am not sure if it fits into a rack but it is so portable that its not really warranted. I am eventually going to build something so it attaches right to my cab so it'll be even easier. Do yourself a favor and purchase this amp you will not be disappointed.

To date, this amp has the tone and feel I like best of all amps I've ever used. I have a Fender Super Bassman that was a $1000 more and I like this amp better. The overdrive hits the upper middle and highs while leaving the bottom punchy without resorting to biamping. The built in limiter gives it that slight compression that feels like a cranked up tube amp. Even with tone controls at 12 o'clock it sounds perfect.
