Overview

The 150W Fender Rumble 150 Bass Combo Amp lets you rule stage and studio alike with unrivaled impunity. That's because it pumps 150 watts through a 15" Fender Special Design Speaker and a piezo horn (for highs), and you can blend adjusted-to-taste overdrive with pure, clean bass tone for first-rate Fender bass sound. Other useful-in-real-life features include a horn on/off switch, XLR output, four-band active EQ with "punch" and "scoop" presets, spring-loaded side handles and removable casters, all in a ported, rugged and easily portable enclosure.

The full-featured Rumble 150 bass combo features a professionally voiced pre-amp and a high efficiency digital power amplifier, a vented cabinet design for enhanced bass response, quiet variable speed fan cooling, and a piezo horn with on/off switch. Get a killer overdrive effect with the help of the gain and blend controls (footswitchable with optional footswitch), optimized for bass to give mellow warmth or heavy distorted tones. The Punch and scoop preset EQ shapes are ideal for finger and slap style tones. The 4-band active EQ delta comp adaptive compression circuitry gives you even tone, without losing the finer details of your sound. The included line out is great for direct recording or live use, and the combo also features a headphone jack for silent jamming and practicing. An included auxilliary input works great for CD/MP3, tape or drum machine to help you get into the mix and work out your rhythms and tempos. Black vinyl covering, rugged black metal grille, and nickel corners round out the sturdy shell to this combo.

One of the best deals I ever did despite "service"

By David

from Saint Clairsville, Ohio

Comments about Fender Rumble 150 150W 1x15 Bass Combo Amp:

I'm a guitar player who also plays a mean bass, having been playing guitar and bass since the 60's. I have been looking at bass amps off and on for years, but when I saw the Memorial Day sale, (actually, it's a Fender Rumble 150 close-out), I jumped at the chance. The first day of the sale, I chatted online with a GC tech who said it was only available at a store. I usually go to the Pittsburgh GC, but they told me that they had sold out that morning...bummer! They said the Youngstown, Ohio store had three in stock. I called them and told them I had quite a drive to get there, but the guy said that he would reserve one in the back in a box for me. After driving close to two hours, I got there and the guy who I had talked to on the phone had left for the day. The other salesman said that he was not aware that there was any units back in the stock room and said that he only had the one on the floor that he had put out that day. He said the box had been crushed and that there was no paperwork ("Everything's on a pdf file, nowadays, Brother"). It just so happened that another salesman overheard the conversation and told the guy that there was indeed one in the back waiting for me! After transacting the sale, got it home, unpacked it, and there was a manual, warranty information, and other goodies that the salesman said would not there. Just goes to show you...besides, why don't the GC people put the accompanying documentation in a folder for the customer after they destroy the box? This has been a constant irritant to me since I have been shopping at GC for years. There needs to be a better, simpler way of doing this other than these folks just not caring. If I ran the store, there would be a system! Anyway, the amp is GREAT, especially for the money and I highly recommend it. Special thanks to the salesman who overheard the conversation with the condescending salesman whom I originally dealt with in the store and for taking care of me. He saved the day!

Nice amp

By Charles Ball

Comments about Fender Rumble 150 150W 1x15 Bass Combo Amp:

I bought the Rumble 150 when it came out. I use it regularly and have no problems. It has plenty of power and sounds great. I started with a Bassman amp when I started playing in the early seventies. I like the sound and quality of Fender products. I play a Jazz bass and the combo sounds great. I would recommend this amp. Love the features.

Fender quality - great sound

By EasTexSteve

from NE Texas

Comments about Fender Rumble 150 150W 1x15 Bass Combo Amp:

I've been playing pro for over 35 years, and I've never been a big fan of solid state combo bass amps. My main rig is a Mesa Boogie Bass 400, so I'm a tube amp guy. But, I was looking for a smaller rig to use in smaller clubs, then I found this. I've played through a bunch of compact combo amps, some with 12 inch speakers. Well, some were overpriced or low quality, and the 12 inch speaker amps sounded like, well, 12 inch speaker amps. However, this amp sounds great. It's got a great sound, and has plenty of features. I have no problem playing small clubs with it. It has a low-Z out if I need to pipe it through the PA. I play a variety of basses and everything from progressive country, R&B, top 40, and classic rock. This amp always delivers. (Tip: This amp can have a fatter sound with the wheels off and sitting flat on the floor on some stages. Try it both ways.)

Great amp

By Ron

from Kissimmee, FL

Comments about Fender Rumble 150 150W 1x15 Bass Combo Amp:

I own a Rumble 350 as well. With the 15" speaker, the sound is deeper and richer on this amp. It is plenty loud for small/medium gigs, yet small enough for practice and carrying around easily. Love the amp.

Quite unique

By RM

from Pleasanton, CA

Comments about Fender Rumble 150 150W 1x15 Bass Combo Amp:

My daughter was playing electric guitar for some time and now she wants to add some bass skills. Because the regular amp can't do well with a bass guitar, we needed a new bass amp. So we went to a store to do a try out. Apparently, the size really matters in the bass world. This amp has something unique (at least for the price range) - a very large 15" speaker, a separate horn for the highs and quite large cabinet. Apparently no amp in 75W-350W amp could deliver the same sound as the 150. Some could go louder for sure, but this one had an amazing range and tone, just above anything else we've tried. It is quite big and heavy and probably a lot of people would think they want something smaller because they'll never need full 150 watts. That may sound logical but it's not. Even if you never crank up the volume, it can still deliver much better tone, so you should consider that amp.

Amazing deal

By Dillon

from DFW, Tx

Comments about Fender Rumble 150 150W 1x15 Bass Combo Amp:

I purchased this amp for my freshman year in college to play with the University Jazz Band, and was blown away by the volume, on-board capabilities, and most of all the price of this amp. I've owned other much more expensive amps over the years and still wish (10 years to late) that I had not gotten rid of it for food.... But overall the functionality of this amp surpasses expectations easily.
