Having both played out of Fender Rumble 100 Combo and heard people play out of this amp I would say that it is much more than a beginner amp. The Fender Rumble 100 has an amazing tone and a full sound, good high end with an amazing low end. Not to mention that this amp helps the bass cut through into the music. I have used this amp with a Mark Hoppus Signature Series Fender, and a Fender 5-String American Jazz Bass, both of which sound amazing. I also have the Fender Bassman 400 Head and 4x10 Cab which I use for most gigs, but sometimes we don't have the space to take it along, or you are playing a smaller venue where you do not require a stack, and the Fender Rumble 100 Combo is my amp of choice then. So, for me the Fender Rumble 100 Combo fit the mold perfectly with a complete package of quality, tone, and bang for my buck.

I bought this amp at list 2 years ago and was told by sales rep it would be enough to keep up with the rest of the band. Alas,... it doesn't, although a good practice amp it just doesn't have what it takes for live shows and loud rehearsals. Woulda shoulda spent an extra couple of bucks and gone with a mesa boogie half stack, oh well, live and learn. Also, it's a pain to move around as it weighs a ton. Pared with a eq and pre-amp along with the active electronics in my bass give it a better sound but it is just not loud enough. A good amp for what it is,... I blame myself for trusting a hungry GC sales rep. as I bought it at the list of $599. It might be a deal at the sale price on line of $399.

Great bass amp

By John710

from Los angeles, CA

Comments about Fender Rumble 100 Bass Combo:

This is a great bass amp, It is very durable and rugged. The volume is pretty loud, Has a great sound for my bass guitar. It has adjustable options as effect loop, mid scoop, passive settings. I use it for all my practice sessions/small gigs. Theres red lights on the bottom and its pretty cool they flash as you play. For the value this is another fine amp by fender.

Low End Rumble.........

By TwigBassMan

from Cincinnati, OH

Comments about Fender Rumble 100 Bass Combo:

I've had the Rumble 100 for over a year now, and I can say everyone who hears the Fender Rumble sound is quite impressed, as well as I. It can easily be heard among two guitars and a loud and crazy drummer. I've turned it up to almost max many times with no problem. Excellent sound, easy to tote and fun to play for small to medium sized gigs.

Fender is good.

Comments about Fender Rumble 100 Bass Combo:

When I bought this amp I needed it bad. We were running the bass through our PA. It was horrible. As far as I'm concerned this AMP is all you need for Medium sized shows. I've had it for 3 years and have played many shows from it. I even used it as a speaker for my computer! Good AMP!

Comments about Fender Rumble 100 Bass Combo:

I've been playing bass for 41 years and looking to downsize my amp since we run everything through the sound system, I don't need a lot of stage power. I've had this amp for about 3 years now with no problems, however, to get the sounds I wanted, I had to add an eq pedal to the mix. I like the adjustable line out feature, and the headphone feature for silent practice. I would recomend this amp to anyone for it's guality and value.

Couldn't be happier

By Robert

from New Orleans, LA

Comments about Fender Rumble 100 Bass Combo:

I bought this amp a little over a year ago. It sounds great and is pretty loud. It kept up nicely with the rest of the band. I have since purchased a halfstack as our venues have gotten bigger, but I hung on to the Rumble. I use it at practice and still break it out at smaller gigs, and it is always on standby as a backup amp. Very happy with it. No problems. Very good, full sound. And, yes, the red lights are cool!

Pretty good

By Eric

from Milwaukee

Comments about Fender Rumble 100 Bass Combo:

So after I got my bass and went to jam with my drummer friend, I realized my Fender 15 watt amp would not cut it. So I went to the store and the guy recommended this to me. It was great because I could actually hear myself in practice, however in our auditorium at school, it was barely loud enough. Also, it sounded a little thin to my ears, not the huge shaking bottom end I needed. Also, I was not cutting through with this at all. So, I would say this is a great step up from a tiny amp, but once you get better, I think you will want to step up to something with a little more volume, a few more tone options, and a better tone. A really nice amp though.

This thing kicks

By Noodles

from Graham, Washington

Comments about Fender Rumble 100 Bass Combo:

I bought one of these at a local guitar center used for 200 and it shakes my house at 2! I got it because i needed something that could stand up to the drums and my behringer bxl450a just wasn't cutting cutting it. So i got this and its louder than a randall 75 watter and a crate 120 watter and with power to spare! i'm gonna start doin gigs soon and this thing is definately gig worthy and with such a clean sound too. Get it and you definately won't be sorry.

Comments about Fender Rumble 100 Bass Combo:

i got this amp for christmas and it shook my whole house with loudness, the size is great, it just seems like there is no real tone for this amp, no real over drive, or effects. i did not like it at all.

theres better

By Bassist

from slc, UT

Comments about Fender Rumble 100 Bass Combo:

Its an alrite amp, but i think anyone looking for a good combo amp should save $30 and get the Ampeg BA115, the ampeg is much better, and not much more expensive. this fender doesnt get nearly as good of tones and is much quieter. Ampeg is the way to go for bass amps

Fender Junker 100

By CHILIPepper99

Comments about Fender Rumble 100 Bass Combo:

This thing hisses so loud I can't hear myself think. Try turning up the treble more than half way and it sounds like someone left the sink running. Not only that but, the one I got atleast, distorts like crazy when actually playing at the high end. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!!!!!

Well built amp

By Anonymous

from Undisclosed

Comments about Fender Rumble 100 Bass Combo:

I've used this amp for two or so years now and haven't had any problems with it. I've used it during shows and it gives a nice, deep sound. I've used it for four shows over the years and it performs great. I was hesitant because I have had trouble with Fender products in the past but this amp proved me wrong. Very durable, you could kick the front of it and it wouldn't be affected. Very good beginning bass amp.

Great Amp for small shows

By Mike

from Ohio

Comments about Fender Rumble 100 Bass Combo:

This amp is perfect for small to medium shows. I used it for our show with about 250 people and it was great The bass can be heard clearly even with 2 guitars, drums, and vocals going on. It is very durable too. I also use it to plug my acoustic electric guitar in and it works great!! I would recommend it to anyone looking for something that wont empty your wallet and is great for small/medium shows

Fender Rumble Amp

By Jape

from Pittsburgh, PA

Comments about Fender Rumble 100 Bass Combo:

I've owned this amp for more than 3 years and not once has anything gone wrong. For the price and size you wouldn't think it would have features like "Passive/Active bass" switch or a "mid scoop" switch and high and low mid control knobs. I've played with many bands and sometimes the guitarists have half stacks or full stacks and ive never not been able ot hear myself. Not the loudest amp on the market, or the lightest one for that matter but you cant beat the price.

Powerful package, small price

By T13bass

from Charleston, SC

Comments about Fender Rumble 100 Bass Combo:

I have owned this amp since August 2005, and it still sounds as good as the day I bought it. I love the fact that when I want to play with EFX it has a conveniant input jack on the front that allows the pedals to control what the bass sounds like. I have never had to max out this amp before. It also has great lows, this amp has yet to crack or pop when I play a low B. THis amp has everything a beginner would need plus more. This small combo has the sound of a small/medium size stack without the hassle of size.

Let your notes rumble

By ramlax13

from NJ

Comments about Fender Rumble 100 Bass Combo:

This amp is great for not only full band practices but for small and medium sized gigs. It has great tone and you can really control how you want to sound. This thing also gets loud fast with the 100 watts pumping out of that 15" speaker. The lights underneath are also a cool added feature, which look great on stage. Has a really nice slap sound also. I reccomend this to anyone looking for a solid amp to do small gigs with.

Great Amp for the Price!!!

By Fen2482

from Lincoln, NE

Comments about Fender Rumble 100 Bass Combo:

I used this amp for awhile before I got my stack, it was perfect for practice or to play small gigs if you have a sound system to mic it up. For the price it was a great amp. If you are starting out or just need a practice amp that's easy to move this would be the amp for you.

Great Amp

By Bassin

from Southbury, CT

Comments about Fender Rumble 100 Bass Combo:

This is a good solid amp. I can hear myself fine at band practices with my volume only half way up. It has a mid scoop, effects loop, and a passive/active select. The lights at the bottem are also pretty cool. This amp is pretty heavy and it is probably not the loudest amp on the market. However, this amp has never given me any problems and I have to say that fender did a good job with this amp.
