So I decided to get this amp today after hearing nothing but good things about it. I'm new to bass and I looked for an amp versatile enough that I can use for late night practice and not disturb the neighbors and powerful enough that could be used for small gigs once I learn to play. I chose fender for its reputation of durability and sound. What I love most about this amp is how light it is, it's surreal the power it puts out compared to its small footprint. My "no name" inexpensive passive 5 string bass guitar sounds really good through the Rumble 100 that I'm starting to appreciate it more. This amp puts out 100 watts at 22 lbs and the guitar amp I was using to practice bass (I know it's not recommended lol) puts out 15 watts and it weighs 18 lbs. Guitar Center did a price match and the salesperson was very helpful. I would recommend this amp to anyone looking for a great overall value.

I was very excited to purchase the Rumble 100 as a practice amp and for potentially small gigs. I like the fact it was 100 watts, light weight, had an xlr direct out, and had a headphone jack. Overall it sounded good, had great tone, and had a lot of power. I'm a "Fender Guy" so I was disappointed that the volume of my Fender J-Bass deluxe kept disappearing on me while practicing on it. I took it back within the 45 day return period and ordered another one.

The new one did the same thing so I returned it within the 45 day return period and ordered another one. I thought this was very strange an at this point I thought the problem could possibly be my bass so I had it checked out by a qualified Fender tech who told me I had a dirty volume POTS which may or may not have contributed to the "amp problem" (Guitar Center initially checked it out and couldn't replicate the issue or find any problems with my bass).

I received my 3rd rumble 100 and just after the 45 day return period it stopped working altogether. No sound would come out from the auxiliary input or my bass. I took it to GC to show them it didn't work (it wouldn't work on their instruments or cables either) and I plugged my bass and cables into a new rumble 100 which worked fine.

Bottom line, I had 3 Fender Rumble 100's and all three of them were defective. Even with a dirty volume control on my bass I have a hard time believing this was the issue with the first two amps, especially since the 3rd one stopped working completely. It may have been just my bad luck but I wasn't impressed by the quality or durability. I'm not a fan of the new Fender Rumble series. They don't see as durable as the previous series.

Awesome Sound and Quality.

Comments about Fender Rumble 100 1x12 100W Bass Combo Amp:

I have been playing bass for over 35 years, and have owned Ampeg, GK, MarkBass, Traynor, and Fender bass amps. I purchased this unit to play music with a 4 piece rock/blues band for practicing purposes, but was blown away with the sound quality this little powerhouse has to offer. This amp is so much better sounding than any other amp in the price category, and it performs better than many that cost twice as much. If you do not believe this rating, go to a GC and play one for yourself. This 100w combo with the 12" is also powerful enough to play at clubs. I was not expecting this combo to be this loud, but believe me, it is. I was going to buy another MarkBass which is a very good brand, but this Fender is less than half the price, half the weight, and every bit as powerful!

Comments about Fender Rumble 100 1x12 100W Bass Combo Amp:

At 65 years and half a century of professional playing, I believe I'm more than qualified to comment.
I've had this amp for a few months now (after having to return a dead one) and it's the smallest, lightest best sounding amp (in this size range) that I've ever owned !
The 1st amp I took home sounded good when it sounded at all, so I decided that I had just gotten a lemon, I was right.... this 2nd amp is amazing ! At 22 lbs it's (relatively) weightless. The cabinet and speaker work in such good harmony that the sound produced by the 12" speaker is, without a doubt, jaw dropping good.
With my 4 string Jazz Bass Satin and 5 string PJ the sound is so full and strong (even the low B string) that I believe that if I was still gigging, I would have no problem with small to medium size venues.... and it has the direct out so I can jack into the PA and just use the tiny lightweight bomb for a stage monitor.
If I was gigging still I [might] go for the 200 with the extra watts and speaker out... it would be worthy of all stages big or small (only bring the 2nd cab for BIG stages) but my 100 is as fine as it gets for this size and price range.

Comments about Fender Rumble 100 1x12 100W Bass Combo Amp:

At 64 and a bad back my days of hauling the heavy amp and lifting it into my car were OVER. Thank You Fender for the Rumble 100! At 22 lbs I don't even use a dolly. My only gig these days is with a 20 piece Big Band, and the amp sounds deep and LOUD at 1/4 volume. With my Precision Bass, I EQ all the tone controls straight up..which is nicely notched. If I need more bass, there is plenty at my disposal with no distortion. I use no overdrive, set the gain at 10 o'clock (who needs an active bass?), and engage both the Contour and Vintage. These last two are the key to getting the sound I want.....without any hassle ...in 3 seconds. If you NEED a different sound this amp Will Deliver. Check out all the features and sounds on the videos on youtube. For the price....this amp is hard to beat. Thank you Laura at the Coconut Creek FL Guitar Center for a great buying experience. I'll be back........

Comments about Fender Rumble 100 1x12 100W Bass Combo Amp:

I've been using this amp for about a week now, so I think I've got a few weeks to go before I really know whether this was a good value or not, but so far it sounds really good. I used the di for recording with the group I'm in straight through a toneport ux2, and it sounded really good and balanced in the mix; was able to cut through that crunchy orange powered guitar so that you could still hear the bass, but also rounded out the low end as well. Overall, sound quality is really nice.

As far as weight goes, I can't believe how light this thing is. I'm used to lugging around at least 50lbs amps, but this comes in at an unbelievable 22lbs! Obviously this is a huge plus for older gents or little guys, or really just anybody who hates having to lug tons of equipment up and down stairs and into and out of vans and the like. Not only that, but It can actually somewhat hold it's own in a live setting. Of course, if you have 2 or more guitarists or other musicians, you may want to look into the 200 model, but for me, this is just enough.

That brings me to live gigging. I havn't had a chance to try this at a gig yet, but on it's own it holds up fine to our little vocal pa, my guitarists 30w tube amp, and the drummer. I should mention though, that pushing the volume to about 9-10, you start to hear the speaker break up a bit, but I don't really think that will be a problem for me. Most of the places we play have a sound guy, so I'll be able to give him my di signal, and just use my bass amp as a monitor, which mean's this will probably be good enough for me for gigging as well.

Verdict? This is a great sounding, versatile, easy amp to use, and I don't regret spending the money one bit. Hopefully it holds up to some abuse and remains enough bass amp for what I'll be doing. If it isn't, I'll just upgrade later :P

Comments about Fender Rumble 100 1x12 100W Bass Combo Amp:

I like this amp overall. I skeptically traded in my fairly new Rumble 75 for this amp. I wasn't horribly impressed with the '75 but thought I'd give Fender one last chance. What a MAJOR upgrade! More power, less weight, smaller, better features and better tone. I do wish the amp had some integrated way to tilt. I also wish the controls were on the top-forward instead of on the top-rear. If I add tilt legs, the controls will be next to impossible to see/reach. Sounds great with my Zoom pedal and Steinberger 5-string. A nice package for the money.

Comments about Fender Rumble 100 1x12 100W Bass Combo Amp:

I've owned them all. Hartke,Fender,Ibanez,Ampeg,Orange,Genz Benz you name it.I've had some good amps But NONE of them have compared to this amp in particular.Recently I fried the mother bored on my Hartke A70. I had around a $300 price range so I went to the local GC and bought an ampeg. After about a week of playing it I just couldn't take the distorted sound when it was turned up.So imused my 30 day "happy" clause and returned it.I was about to buy a 300 watt peavey when I plugged into this amp.The sound quality, the tone, and how loud this amp is is just unbelievable for a 100 watt amp.Its clear sound when turned all the way up with great low end is what sold me. Then the overdrive and all your tone control options this is the best amp I've ever owned.Has a 12 inch speaker that sounds like a 15 inch.I love this amp as it also is only maybe 10 lbs.BUY THIS AMP

Comments about Fender Rumble 100 1x12 100W Bass Combo Amp:

I'm an aging rocker and have a music studio in my basement with the instruments that are my love and hobby. I just bought a Fender Jazz Bass, and needed an amp.
This was less than 300 dollars, and I used a holiday discount pass for an extra 15 percent off. It's a little weak using the master volume. Hard to buy it's a true 100 watt head. But when the boost channel is engaged, it can get quite loud, but with a little distortion, which I didn't like on my bass.
I was able to clean it up and for my uses it's plenty loud. It would be good for someone who is using it as a home amp, home studio, or is playing out but microphoning the bass amp.
They make slightly stronger wattage versions of the same amp. The speaker, 1-12 inch speaker, kicks a whole lot more than I expected. My PA has 15 inch bass speakers, and my five string bass when playing the top B string was pushing the coils. The 12 inch speaker in the cheaply priced Fender didn't even hitch. No noise, or trouble handling the deep frequency. I'm glad I bought it. I didn't need a Cadillac amp, just a good one. This is a good one.

On the way to a gig I found out that the PA system that I was going to be playing through was crapy (I prefer to have control of my sound)so I stopped by guitar center and found this Bad Boy! I did zero research and put my trust in Fender. Wow! What an amazing unit! Sounds great! Easy to operate and very very light! May not be the loudest but sound quality makes up for it!
