Roger Waters. What can you say. This bass is as straight foward and simple as the man himself. The Seymor Duncan pickups provide a very solid gut thumping bottom, as well as giving a punchy mid and ear burning high end at the same time. I was very surprised to see that this bass was made in Mexico. It is constructed very well. The finish on mine is virtually flawless. I love the contrast between the all black body and hardware with the natural finish of the hard maple neck. I will probably play this guitar sparingly as fender necks are just a bit thick and wide for my stubs. But will fight to play any Floyd on it. The monster head stock and open gear shamrock tuners contribute to this greatly. As for durability, I'll have to get back to you on that. Have only had it a short time. But it has the feel of an instrument that will take a beating and keep on repeating. If you have wanted a nice Fender bass for a really good price, I would suggest that you pick this one up. It is a no frills, great looking, solid feeling, great sounding bass.

I've purchased two basses online in the past month, and they've both gone back because of quality issues. It seems that buying guitars sight unseen is not a good idea, and that quality control is a problem with both American and Mexican manufacturing. In this case, the neck was drilled out incorrectly, and is badly misaligned as a result. It is not repairable. The brass nut is also cut incorrectly, and doesn't grab the strings firmly enough. The tone on this guitar is adversely affected by a cheap bridge and an off-center string tree. The only good thing about this bass is the finish, which I admit is very nice. This bass is not worth the money, or even half what I paid. I'm not that hard to please really, I just want a guitar that is free of manufacturing defects, and so far that has proven impossible. Shocking.

Great Bass

By Elvis

Comments about Fender Roger Waters Precision Bass:

The Fender Roger Waters bass is light, very attractive, fast neck and sounds awesome. I like the smaller vintage frets. The Duncans are well defined and loud. The neck has made it through two seasons with no change. I love this bass!

Great Bass

By Scott

Comments about Fender Roger Waters Precision Bass:

This is everything that I have been looking for in a bass. The feel, the tone, to me what I want in a bass. I can't get over how well it plays and sounds. For me there is no other bass that even comes close to this. I think Fender did an awesome job and would recommed this bass to anyone from the beginner to professional.

Great Bass Low Price

By DAVE HANSEN

from Orland Park, IL

Comments about Fender Roger Waters Precision Bass:

Ive had this bass for almost a year now. I must say that it certainly makes its presence known in the band Im in (I play it through a B200 ACOUSTIC half stack). This bass can take a beating too. Im constantly jumping around with it at shows and its been knocked into a drum symbol on some occasions by mistake and still not a blemish. Im surprised at how well it stays in tune as well. (I always see the guitarists tuning up every couple songs). With this bass I just have to check the tuning before each set and Im good to go for the night! I have gotten many compliments on how the bass looks as well. The only problem that I have ever had with it is that the saddle on the E string came loose twice during transportation. Bottom line, if your looking for a solid bass with balls in the low end and great presence in the mids and highs, this would be the bass for you!

Comments about Fender Roger Waters Precision Bass:

Although this bass is crafted in Mexico (MIM), it is a step up from the "Standard" series/line of offerings. The Flea Roadworn, Mark Hoppus, Roger Waters, and Nate Mendal (all signature models) use better parts and the craftsmanship is top notch.

I wanted this bass mainly due to the fact it has a "baseball bat" style of neck (very thick front to back) and the only other bass that offers this at a similar price point is the "Classic 50's Precision" (MIM). This bass comes stock with "aftermarket" Seymour Duncan "Quarter Pound" pickups (SPB-3), which are slightly mid-scooped and high-gain ("hot"). I like the black on black with maple, the bass is "no frills" but performs great as a "workhorse".

A little expensive IMO, but a great bass nonetheless.

The action on this bass is just awesome. The sound speaks for itself. The pick guard has a removable Rodger Watters layer. Its kinda too cool to remove but I will eventually. This bass truly does replicate the Watters sound with the right set up. (strings) It can be looked up on Google. Don't hesitate if your looking at this instrument, it wont disappoint.

This is a nice looking bass and very well priced fo the quality of a vintage P bass. Nice wide neck for us big handed player. Ordered online and got to me within 3-5 days unscathed and ready to go. Had three people ask to play it before I got out of the store. Great service from the store. Came with gig bag but had to go hard case for precious cargo.

I mostly use this in my small jam band that i go around the midwest with. Never needed to be adjusted once. Great feeling thick neck, adds to the stability. Got some fresh strings for it and it sang like a bird. This is by far my go to in my selection. (out of 6 masses)

Comments about Fender Roger Waters Precision Bass:

I have had this bass for a while now and I give it 5 stars all around with the price involved. I can say the price pushes it to 5 as an instrument on its own I would say 4 stars. I love playing this bass. It is fun, was fun out of the box and I am impressed at the build and the great and long lasting nature of this bass. I did have some slight fret issues, very minor, and the overall feel was a bit lower than some other basses I have played or have. With that said this bass is amazing. There are some online that have issues with the low end. YES it is VERY bassy. I had a string break at a gig once and put a different gauge, maker and type of string on my bass. In a punk band I had sweat on the strings i had on the bass for years. They were a bit dead. The new string was MUCH brighter and more low end. So with that in mind, and being in a acid rock band now, I got some EB Slinky 100 cobalts. Well now the bass is AMAZING. Those evened out the low end, along with a slight tweak on the pickups, and it rocks. The stock strings are really great strings and I am putting them on another bass. I love this bass as a daily player and I have already recorded with it and it sounds full, warm and deep.

Comments about Fender Roger Waters Precision Bass:

I just got this bass this week so I am still in a "new bass" mode with it. My main is a 73 P and I got this so I will stop playing it 5-8 hours a day. This is meant to be my daily play machine. I love this bass. The neck is a thick C and it is wider at the nut than my 73. It is not as "fat" as my 73 and it does not hti my hand the same way. That is the only real gripe I have about it. Some have said the SD QP SB3 pickups are too bassy...well my band LOVES the too bassy feel. The pickups are not as warm as my 73 BUT the footprint of them and the electronics is MUCH wider. This is a bass that can go from punk to motown easily. I am thinking about slapping a set of cobalt flatwounds on it just to see.
