Very pleased

Comments about Fender Robert Schmidt Mandolin:

I recently purchased this Mandolin. I was a total beginner in the whole mandolin experience but a long time guitar player. I have been thrilled with this great playing unit. It is odd looking, but has a beautiful finish and is very well built. The single volume control pickup sounds good in an amp and outstanding when run through a nice tube pre. In fact while recording I used the on-board pickup and a nice condenser onto two tracks and it sounded absolutely incredible. As a beginning player it was very easy to set the bridge and intonation. It is very accurate now up the neck and is easy to play with nice action. This wasn't the cheapest mandolin available nor was it the most expensive; but for someone who will play it everyday it certainly was worth the price. Cases may be hard to find and I ended up doing a very slight and free mod to a Gator and it fits nicely. The is a stout instrument and you do not have to handle it like a "dainty little princess." Glad I bought it 100%
