Comments about Fender Road Worn '60s Jazz Bass:

When you lower the tone knobs for the separate pickups you get a little buzz. Only down side.

Action can be set nice and low with minimal buzzing and it really has an amazing feel.

      Great Bass

      By T-Bone

Comments about Fender Road Worn '60s Jazz Bass:

I just got my Fiesta Red RW jazz in the mail and couldn't be happier with it. The distressed look is done very well, and the sound is top notch. From the worn-in feel of the neck down to the cracking on the nitro finish, it definately gives the vintage vibe for gigging money. There are a couple of minor things to be aware of though. First, the pickguard doesn't look aged like the rest of the guitar. And second, if you prefer to play without the pickguard installed, the letters "ROAD WRN" are stamped into the wood under the pickguard area. Those minor things aside, I'm on the RW bandwagon!!

Fender Road Worns are an incredible value!

      By Thinline

      from Motown

Comments about Fender Road Worn '60s Jazz Bass:

Man some of guys need to set back and chill out. I have collected high end Master Built Fender for years and for the money these Road Worn guitars are an incredible value. True, they are not aged to look as good as a custom shop guitar but they are not supposed to either. Compare apples to apples and things blow away the Highway 1's, Epiphone, or anything else in their class. Some people have a stima about Mexican Fender and while there were some inconsistancy problems years ago they are making a high quaility guitar now. The bodies are cut, painted, and assembled in Mexico but the necks are still made in the USA and shipped to Mexico for finishing and assembly. The pickups are made in Mexico and the hardware is Fender/Ping brand that it is imported probably from China however the Fender Gotoh hardware that is on all the USA and custom shop guitars is imported also and made in Japan. I have played dozens of these Road Worn guitars and each one is as different as a dozen Fender USA guitars. Some Road Worns are incredible killer guitars that are even better than their USA counter parts, some are good, and some are just ok. Just a luck of the draw how they all come together. I would reccomend buying a road worn in the store that way you can play many of them and pick out the killer one. If you mail order it you dont have anything to compare it to so you wont know the difference. There seems to be less of a variance in the Tele's than the Strats for what ever reason and all Bass' I have played were great. Also do a search for Fender Mexico and take the virtual plant tour and you will be amazed at what you see adn read. Believe it or not I have a Road Worn that I would put up any day against my team built 62 Custom Shop Strat for tone and playability.

Road Worn 60's Jazz Bass Is A Real Beauty!!!

      By Tom

      from Des Moines, IA

Comments about Fender Road Worn '60s Jazz Bass:

I purchased a 50's RW P-Bass a few months earlier so I knew it would be good, but this J Bass exceeded even my own expectations! The finish job is great! I would say near custom shop quality. The wood is select, it's not cheaper wood. They don't scrimp on these except in one area, the electronics. The wiring is cheap and the pickups are cheap. So I ordered some Seymour Duncan Antiquity II's for it and rewired it with cloth wrapped wire and this bass purrs now! But for most people the electronics would be just fine. I am used to playing pre 1965 Fender Basses, so I expect a certain tone and I had to do what I needed to do to accomplish that, but the tone out of the box is workable. Whether you're a pick player, finger player or slapper, this bass will give you everything you want and it feels like it's a 40+ year old bass. Just wonderful!

Comments about Fender Road Worn '60s Jazz Bass:

I personally own an american jazz bass and i gig with it every weekend and im telling u when i went into the music store and played this bass i was amazed at the tone and how well it played.the feel of this neck is unbeleiveable like it has a thin coat of nitrocellulose laquer on it.sad thing is this bass isnt american made.but im telling you that u cant tell the diffrence in this and the real 60's jazz bass with my friends father owns...BUY THIS BASS you will like it better than the american standard i promise.
