Overview

Fire up this little 9-watt beauty and you™ll be storming the ramparts of Fender' pure tube tone, with real, usable power and performance. With the use of dual "Hot" and "Cool" input channels, you™ll have great tonal flexibility when pushing that classic, crystal-clear Fender sound through the 12" Special Design speaker or through the 1/4" speaker out. The œCool channel is voiced from warm and clean to some slight breakup with use of the independent volume control; while the œHot side of this easily portable tone machine ranges from mild to wild. And tinkering with your sound doesn™t get much more basic than the Ramparte' layout of just two independent chicken-head volume knobs, coupled with your guitar' pickups and tone and volume controls.

Around the back of this two-tone chocolate-and-copper offering from Fender' Pawn Shop Special line, you™ll find the tube complement of two 12AX7 preamp tubes and single 6L6 power tube ” the heart and soul of that unmistakable tube-driven vintage Fender sound.

The Ramparte is ideally powered and voiced for use in practice and studio settings to be able to get rich tube breakup at bedroom-friendly volume levels.

Comments about Fender Ramparte 9W 1x12 Dual-Channel Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

Great tube amp with a distinctive tone. I hesitate to knock one star off merely for lack of a tone control (considering the vintage amps the Ramparte is styling itself after lack tone controls also)... but it would be nice to have one.. everyone should own an EQ pedal anyway.... While I reserve five stars for the legendary amps like my Princeton Reverb, 59' Bassman RI and Supersonic, the Ramparte should get 5 stars considering it's price point and hitting its mark for intended use.
Just for sake of comparison, I own a BJR NOS, Princeton 68' Custom Reverb, 59' Bassman RI, Pawn Shop Vaporizer, Pro Junior, Superchamp XD and other non-Fender amps. The Ramparte is most comparable to the PRO Junior and Vaporizer. The Ramparte lack tone control but that just eliminates another variable which takes away from just playing.. The Ramparte has GREAT tone. It is LOUD though. To get to the beautiful overdrive tone, you need to turn the Cool channel past 3 -or- the Hot channel past 4, which puts this amp past bedroom volumes and gets into neighbor hearing territory. But when you do, the creamy papery overdrive sound is one of the best on all my amps. The pro junior is very similar as far as power/volume and tone but the Ramparte has a bit more vintage breakup tone to it which I really like,..add to that the looks of the amp and I am quickly thinking the Ramparte will be a keeper and some others will have to go. While the Ramparte does not get a variety of tones, it does what it does very well. I find myself favoring my Ramparte and Vaporizer amps over my Superchamp XD and all its built in effects. If you need tons of clean headroom, this is not your amp. But if you want an incredible papery blues breakup tone (with some volume) get the Ramparte. I will say the Vaporizer gets an awesome similar overdriven sound but at lower volumes and has built in true spring reverb. In my home, I find myself increasingly turning to my Ramparte, Vaporizer and (princeton for cleans). Buy this.

Comments about Fender Ramparte 9W 1x12 Dual-Channel Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

This amp lacks EQ (preamp) and reverb features. Although this amp has internal overdrive tones in the cool and hot sections, it's hard to reach the overdrive gain that I want, because it's too loud...!! I might be able to do it in the place like hall, but for home recording, you need to put the volume in a low level. SInce it's 9W tube, the sound is really huge. While it has its simplicity, the amp has a great sound playing, which covers the lack of eq and reverb. I think if I get the eq pedal, this will be covered well. This is really decent one, so you definitely need to get it if you want the tube amp which works great compared to the money that you pay for.

Comments about Fender Ramparte 9W 1x12 Dual-Channel Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

although this amp lacks Eq and reverb,it sound great as a small combo amp. This amp if miked is good 4 clubs and venues or pure if the club or venue is not to big (then mic it). this is different that yo traditional tube amp (no standby button). It gets instantly warm and ready to play with. On the cool side it is jazzy when u play an arch top or semi hollow guitar through it. On the hot side u get a bluesy sound or rock crunch. But if u add a reverb or effects it works well with pedals Thanks guitar center 4 selling it to me then. It still kicks and sounds great 4 the size and weight and 4 a 1 x 12 and 9 w amp wow it is loud.

Comments about Fender Ramparte 9W 1x12 Dual-Channel Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

I really thought this was going to be the amp for me -- I've always been hapy with Fender amps, and lately wanted somethinbg smaller than the 60-pounder I'm lugging around now. I'd been pleased with the Vaporizer, but wanted something even smaller than that, and this lovely Ramparte was sure to be the last stop in sound & simplicity.

Well, it got the last part right. I bought mine second-hand right here on GC, and I was elighted to get it ... until I plugged it in. The sound was dull, even when it was the bridge pickup on a Strat. !!?? A Fender Strat through a Fender amp should be ice-pick bright. OK, you say, an amp can't be bright and full; how about the low end. But it didn't have either. Basically it just sounded the opposite of full or breight. Too bad, because it looked great!

        Excellent Little Amp!

        By ROBERT

Comments about Fender Ramparte 9W 1x12 Dual-Channel Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

This amp looks amazing and sounds amazing. For only being 9 watts, it goes quite loud. I have it in my living room and I usually only have the volume in the cool channel on 3. The tone of this amp is extremely warm and mellow, almost relaxing enough to put you into a comatose state. If you are looking for an all tube amp that doesn't look like an amp and you have been chasing that warm tone, look no further, you just found it.

        Excellent tone and quality

        By Jay Clark

        from Long Beach California

Comments about Fender Ramparte 9W 1x12 Dual-Channel Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

There isn't much to this amp in terms of options but I'm very happy with the tone I'm getting out of it. I'm going for a dirty Fender tone and I found that if I attach an A/B box and run both channels at the same time it sings. Andertons did a youtube video review showing the A/B trick and it works as expected. The amp hardware and coverings have very nice detail and even nice to the touch. It looks like a much more expensive amp. It just has volume controls, so don't expect to change much of anything and of course it has no effects loop. I just play mainly for myself and mostly at home so I've detatched the provided speaker, which sounds fine, but because I want to drive the amp a little dirty at non ear piercing volumes I changed the setup. From the amp I attach to a weber 25W attenuator and use the 6db switch to keep the highs at the low volumes. From there I run it into an open back 1x12 cab that has an Eminence red coat FDM speaker. The FDM is key in that model, it allows you to adjust the speaker cone distance from the magnet letting you get an additional volume drop. So between the weber and the FDM speaker I can drive the amp actually way past dirty if I want and have very reasonable bedroom volumes.
