I bought this case to hold my Butterscotch Blonde Telecaster since it is kind of retro and I thought this case would go well with it. The case is very nice on the outside and seems to be put together well. The leather on the corners may wear over time, but that probably will only add to the retro feel. It gets instant notice when I walk into a building with it. People start to look over your shoulder, waiting to see what it is going to reveal. It also looks great in the room, just waiting to be taken out on a trip. So why four stars? Just a couple of minor things, and if I could, I would have given it four and a half stars. First, the inside compartment lids are a little crooked on mine. They don't really close all the way. It's hard to tell from a distance as the plush interior helps it all blend together. But you can push them down to close them flush and they kind of pop open and to the side a little. Second, it is a little big for my telecaster. The guitar can slide both sideways and front to back. Not much, and the padding is there to protect it, but you can hear it as you move it banging around. Just seems like for that price they could provide you some options to secure your guitar a little better. To make a long story short. If you are looking for something that provides protection for your guitar, looks really cool, and is pretty sturdy, this is your case.

I wanted a fairly inexpensive hard-shell tweed case for my '17 LP Tribute T and this was the only one available at my local GC, so I tried it out. Snug and a bug in a rug around the body with absolutely no movement at all. The issue (not the fault of the case, since it IS meant for a Fender) is that the headstock rests on the back of the case, without being cradled by the neck saddle. However, this issue was completely mitigated by laying a twice-folded cloth in the neck saddle. This lifted the head-stock off of the case, and now my LP is completely secure within this case. No movement whatsoever.

Craftsmanship is so-so. I agree with other commenters that the tweed material shows marks rather easily, and does not appear to be glued well to the substrate material, as there is some bunching and gathering of the tweed material. The lid wobbles a bit when opening and closing, indicating that the hinges may not stand the test of time.

For me, this was an on the spot purchase because I did not want my LP in the gig bag it came with, and needed a case immediately. The price at my local GC was around $99 as well....maybe it was a leftover or something. And it sure beats the $200 price tag of a Gibson hard-shell case. Works for me because I'm only carrying it around once or twice a month. I would have reservations about this case if it were meant to be a daily user as I do not believe it would hold up. But for occasional use, it's serviceable, and aesthetically pleasing.

Love the look, cheaply made

By Thomas McAllister

from Indianapolis Indiana

Comments about Fender Pro Series Stratocaster/Telecaster Tweed Guitar Case:

I LOVE the look of this case. I have owned it for a month. But scratches, dents, everything shows up easy. The outside bubbles up, and it's VERY noticeable. The spring broke on both sides, so you have to pull up on the latch. Disappointed.

OK, but disappointing

By craig maxey

from Alexandria, VA

Comments about Fender Pro Series Stratocaster/Telecaster Tweed Guitar Case:

The good part of this review is that this case does what it is supposed to do -- protect my left-hand MIJ Fender Strat, even with the strap attached. The foam underlayment has some give to it, so it forms around the strap pins and keeps the guitar snug. There is ample room for storage. Others have commented on the so-so latches, but mine appear adequate. The inside of the case appears well made. The bad part of this review is the outside of the case. It arrived with two small (1/2") cuts in the vinyl end protection, and the outside covering looks like lazy-workmanship-meets-indifferent-quality-control. There are several areas of air bubbles where the covering was not glued adequately and has pulled away from the substrate. I've seen this bubbling on other cases (Gibson, Martin), but not to this extent. It detracts from the appearance of the case, and for the price, I expected better. My advice is to inspect thoroughly, and keep returning them until you get a good one.

Tweed Disappointment!

By Jeffrey Buergler

from Royal Oaks, CA

Comments about Fender Pro Series Stratocaster/Telecaster Tweed Guitar Case:

Inside the case is what you would expect, a safe place to keep your guitar. Outside the case, the brown vinyl on each end comes unglued, and the tweed covering bubbles up. So disappointed, the tweed looks awesome in the ad. Unfortunately it's cheaply made, and a waste of hard earned cash.

Not completely happy

By M

Comments about Fender Pro Series Stratocaster/Telecaster Tweed Guitar Case:

The case arrived and the binding is not stitched, but glued on the case. I had to re-glue it within a day of receiving it so that it would not come apart for a gig. Not great quality for a Fender Case. I'll stick with the SBK cases from now on.

Its Just OK

By Silvio Ruvolo

from Carmel, NY

Comments about Fender Pro Series Stratocaster/Telecaster Tweed Guitar Case:

Just picked up this case from GC for my MIM Standard Tele. Its just OK, a small step up from a deluxe gig bag. Not much padding inside. The guitar moves around a little from side to side. The latch closest to the headstock was off center a bit and the case would stay about a 1/4" open. Straightened the latch by resetting the screw a little up on the right. IMO this case should be priced at under $100. I probabaly would have returned it but special ordered the black case. Spend the extra $20 and get the Fender/G&G, USA made version of the Strat/Tele case. I have one for my Amer. Spec. FSR Strat and its perfect.

Great Case for RG!

By Ed Sanford

from Murfreesboro, TN.

Comments about Fender Pro Series Stratocaster/Telecaster Tweed Guitar Case:

The description for this case is wrong. It is just like the pictures; tweed exterior w/ gold hardware and a brown, hard plastic handle. Interior is soft orange plush w/ 2 compartments. I bought mine today @ Guitar Center Nashville. I have an Ibanez RG3XXV 25th Anniversary w/ Dimarzio pick ups and reverse headstock and this case is an almost perfect fit! There's only 3/16" difference in the length and 5/8" difference in the width so an Ibanez RG just barely moves when case is closed and the neck stays in place when carrying case. The case is sturdy and should last w/ normal use.

Comments about Fender Pro Series Stratocaster/Telecaster Tweed Guitar Case:

The guitar case is good for the money spent. The things I don't like are few but should be noted. First the case is large for my fender telecaster. however a small towel placed between the bout and case takes care of the problem. second the inside compartment lides just don't close properly. Lets face it the case is made in Vietnam. No it is not an American made Fender Telecaster case but it will most definnely protect your Tele.and consider the cost deference. To myself a lot of money. Thanks Guitar Center.

Comments about Fender Pro Series Stratocaster/Telecaster Tweed Guitar Case:

I bought this case a few months ago. I wanted to use it for a while before writing a review. First, I like the case. It fits my strat very well. It looks good and the pockets have enough room for everything I need. The issue I have is the absolute poor quality of the locks on the case. One lock functions properly until you actually try to lock the case, then you have to keep turning the key over & over until finally,,,it locks. The other lock sticks in the open position so you have to work with it to get it to stay closed. The second lock is also loose and is probably close to coming off the case. I doubt I'm the only one with this problem. Some customers will pay a higher price to get good quality. I am one of those customers.

After having my strat fall out of a gig bag, I decided to get a hard case. I read some reviews on other cases and decided to get the tweed Fender case. First of all, it looks great. My strat fits snuggly into place, doesn't slide around or move in any way. So far I'm really statisfied with my case. This was a good purchase.

We got lucky, and found a great deal on a used Mexican Strat without a case - The guitar doesn't budge in this case - Not too tight - Perfect fit - Excellent for local gigs.

Sorry, but whoever invented gig bags should be put in the corner - I just had my second student in a year experience serious damage to a good student guitar ($500 price range) while using a gig bag.

                Buy a good hard case!
