I bought this case to hold my Butterscotch Blonde Telecaster since it is kind of retro and I thought this case would go well with it. The case is very nice on the outside and seems to be put together well. The leather on the corners may wear over time, but that probably will only add to the retro feel. It gets instant notice when I walk into a building with it. People start to look over your shoulder, waiting to see what it is going to reveal. It also looks great in the room, just waiting to be taken out on a trip. So why four stars? Just a couple of minor things, and if I could, I would have given it four and a half stars. First, the inside compartment lids are a little crooked on mine. They don't really close all the way. It's hard to tell from a distance as the plush interior helps it all blend together. But you can push them down to close them flush and they kind of pop open and to the side a little. Second, it is a little big for my telecaster. The guitar can slide both sideways and front to back. Not much, and the padding is there to protect it, but you can hear it as you move it banging around. Just seems like for that price they could provide you some options to secure your guitar a little better. To make a long story short. If you are looking for something that provides protection for your guitar, looks really cool, and is pretty sturdy, this is your case.

The good part of this review is that this case does what it is supposed to do -- protect my left-hand MIJ Fender Strat, even with the strap attached. The foam underlayment has some give to it, so it forms around the strap pins and keeps the guitar snug. There is ample room for storage. Others have commented on the so-so latches, but mine appear adequate. The inside of the case appears well made. The bad part of this review is the outside of the case. It arrived with two small (1/2") cuts in the vinyl end protection, and the outside covering looks like lazy-workmanship-meets-indifferent-quality-control. There are several areas of air bubbles where the covering was not glued adequately and has pulled away from the substrate. I've seen this bubbling on other cases (Gibson, Martin), but not to this extent. It detracts from the appearance of the case, and for the price, I expected better. My advice is to inspect thoroughly, and keep returning them until you get a good one.

Great Case

By Jay Gould

from Hidden Valley Lake, CA

I have read some of the other reviews about quality shortcomings but have not found that to be true for me. It protects my Fender Strat well and there is ample storage areas for cable, pics, etc. Looks great and the latches snugly hold the top in place. Tweed look is classic!!

Not completely happy

By M

from Florida

The case arrived and the binding is not stitched, but glued on the case. I had to re-glue it within a day of receiving it so that it would not come apart for a gig. Not great quality for a Fender Case. I'll stick with the SBK cases from now on.

Love the look, cheaply made

By Thomas McAllister

from Indianapolis Indiana

I LOVE the look of this case. I have owned it for a month. But scratches, dents, everything shows up easy. The outside bubbles up, and it's VERY noticeable. The spring broke on both sides, so you have to pull up on the latch. Disappointed.

It's a case...

By Antonio Aguirre

from Longmont Colorado

I got this case for my Special edition Ash bodied Telecaster. Wile it is a nice case, I think it could be better. I like the two extra compartments to hold stuff, wish they were a little longer.. it's a good case, it just feels cheap. But, it gets the job done.

Tweed Disappointment!

By Jeffrey Buergler

from Royal Oaks, CA

Inside the case is what you would expect, a safe place to keep your guitar. Outside the case, the brown vinyl on each end comes unglued, and the tweed covering bubbles up. So disappointed, the tweed looks awesome in the ad. Unfortunately it's cheaply made, and a waste of hard earned cash.

Happy for the second time!

By Glenn Allen

from West Grove, Pa.

Purchased one of these at GC a while back for my USA Nitro Satin and was happy with the overall outside look and the inside holding power due to a plush two door design. I just bought a second for an American Special Tele, I originally got the black model but returned it. Big difference between the two. Don't know where either is made but they can't come from the same place. Go with this one you won't be disappointed.

Great Case for RG!

By Ed Sanford

from Murfreesboro, TN.

The description for this case is wrong. It is just like the pictures; tweed exterior w/ gold hardware and a brown, hard plastic handle. Interior is soft orange plush w/ 2 compartments. I bought mine today @ Guitar Center Nashville. I have an Ibanez RG3XXV 25th Anniversary w/ Dimarzio pick ups and reverse headstock and this case is an almost perfect fit! There's only 3/16" difference in the length and 5/8" difference in the width so an Ibanez RG just barely moves when case is closed and the neck stays in place when carrying case. The case is sturdy and should last w/ normal use.
