Players continue to praise the Pawn Shop Series for evoking the more eccentric Fender creations of the mid-'60s to mid-'70s while delivering thoroughly modern sound and quality with a wealth of various Fender elements. New for 2013, the Pawn Shop Series introduces yet another pleasingly unconventional assortment of "guitars that never were but should have been," in which new models take the stage and long-vanished classics return in modern form.
With its racing stripe and short scale (30"), the new Pawn Shop Mustang Bass authentically evokes the original "competition" Mustang Bass of the early 1970s. This time, though, you get the huge bass sound of a single humbucking pickup (the original had a single-coil pickup) and several classic Fender finish options.
Other features include an alder body, "C"-shaped maple neck, 9.5"-radius rosewood fingerboard with 19 medium jumbo frets, four-ply white pearloid pickguard, two Jazz Bass control knobs (volume, tone) and a strings-through-body bridge with four adjustable saddles.

Comments about Fender Pawn Shop Mustang Electric Bass:
it's my first time to have purchased a redesigned bass guitar that's a little over a month old in the market. due to past physical injuries i had to find a bass that wasn't heavy, nor long scaled & cheap construction. i had problems with a few basses i've owned in the past i.e. intonation is one. i saw this Fender Pawn Shop Mustang Bass advertised on YouTube which caught my eyes & ears in amazement. my drummer "P" decided to take me to Guitar Ctr in Larchmont, NY. sales rep mr. "R" who was friendly & very helpful to me their showed me the bass & i immediately made up my mind & purchased it. everything was fine right out of the box & i didn't have to do anything to it just tune. played the bass that evening at my church using a 200 w Hartke bass/amp 1x15 cab & i said "WOW, what a boom"! the best choice i ever made. thanks to the folks @ Guitar Center who (including my drummer) made it happen for me, cheers!
