I am a new player, I asked for a ukulele for Xmas, so the wife got me a cheapie and I learned to play. Valentines day I get this item as a gift, I loved it. Three weeks later, the E string starts to flatten out in the second fret, as time goes by, the A string and G string are affected. Now after changing strings twice, and after driving a 500 mile roundtrip to have it looked at, I was told the following. 1. It has a design flaw with the joining of neck and fret placement. 2. Let me use a hammer and a screw driver to fix that. whack whack whack Whack!!!!! 3. If it doesn't stay fixed drive 500 miles again and I will super glue it for you. 4. Are you kidding me????? Spend your money on something else, Fender doesn't stand behind this item, and will do nothing to help you when this happens to you. Lifetime warranty my eye! I have spent more then I paid for this item diagnosing poor workmanship.

Nohea Koa Tenor Uke

By J. Laird

from Las Vegas, NV

Comments about Fender Nohea Koa Tenor Ukulele:

Been playing an OS Washburn concert size for several years -- hands are just too big for soprano. Played lots of tenors before deciding on the Nohea. Can't say enough good stuff -- the unit stays in tune! Fit and finish are way above average. Tone is great. Setup was fine from the box at GC. Comes with a gig bag -- though I may never put it down... Fender does it again!!!

Comments about Fender Nohea Koa Tenor Ukulele:

My First Uke. Im very pleased with the Fender it is worth the price. The neck feels very good, long fret board, comes with gig bag. Ive had this for about two months and just played for hours the other night till five am, non stop playing due to how soothing it sounds. I strum with finger but want to try a felt pic ive used regular pic and the uke really sounds off in a great way. The uke is very light ,looks and finish are great!

My first Fender!

By mike webb

Comments about Fender Nohea Koa Tenor Ukulele:

I'm no professional, but I really like this uke. Stays in tune fairly well, sounds & looks great. Yes , I'm very pleased with this purchase! Only had it a few weeks so I'm trusting Fender built an instrument that will last for years to come. Travel bag is nice too. Now the question is -- can I bring my skills up to the quality level of this ukulele? Thanks to Fender & Guitar Center!!

Comments about Fender Nohea Koa Tenor Ukulele:

I think it's a bit over priced at retail but look for a used one. You can find them between $129 to $149 in perfect shape.

Good build quality, nice wood and inlays. Sounds find. My wife has very small hands but she likes this one more then the concert.

Fender Nohea Koa

By Christina

from Upland, CA

Comments about Fender Nohea Koa Tenor Ukulele:

I recently became interested in the ukulele and searched online and read the reviews of many different ukuleles on this site. The Fender Nohea Koa by far had the best reviews. So I went ahead and purchased it. I recieved the ukulele on 12/25/14 and I was not only pleased with the sound but the ukulele was more beautiful in person than online. Now it has taken some time for it to stay in tune, but after a week it is doing great. So happy I have this little guy and will enjoy playing it for many years.

Comments about Fender Nohea Koa Tenor Ukulele:

I have been playing Gibson and Fender electric and acoustic instruments fro over 35 years. I am a professional musician who has played with some exceptional musicians and has had my own songs recorded by professional singers as well as my original tunes in film. Needless to say I do in fact KNOW a good if not great instrument when I play it. You can "feel" if the instrument has songs in it. Waiting inside it for the right player. This little gem has the "it" factor. I puled it off the wall and picked a few notes, checked the headstock, the gears, the fret board... licked the proverbial tires if you will and then I got "that" feeling. That undeniable sense that there was magic in this piece of wood. I asked to see a new one fresh out of the box and while it too sounded great the original one I played, the "wall" hanger was the shinning star!

Comments about Fender Nohea Koa Tenor Ukulele:

I started ukulele over the summer and for some reason I fell in love with the instrument. This particular ukulele had been recommended to me when I started playing in concerts. It sound and looks very beutiful onstage. I use this ukulele for both practice and preformance for its beautiful and strong sound. I've had minimal problems with the ukulele going out of tune easily, however I bought a tuner just in case. The ukulele itself is for very advanced players. I don't recommend this ukulele for first-timers as well as people not planning on using it very much. I would recommend this instrument for those who are looking to perform and fall in love like I did with the instrument.

Comments about Fender Nohea Koa Tenor Ukulele:

I was blown away when my son asked me to play ukulele at his wedding in Hawaii. I play guitar, but never uke - so I got a starter kit to get acquainted, then decided to go with a tenor size, and I dug the Fender headstock, and bought the base model and played it for a couple of weeks, then decided: hey, it's my son's wedding! (now, yes, there are $1,000 models out there, but hey...) so I upgraded to the koa model. (thanks, BTW, to the friendly folks at guitar center) and got an instrument that is drop dead gorgeous (like Cate Blanchett) plays like a dream, and is a stone STEAL at two fitty. If you want a uke that will put a grin on your face every time you pull it out of the gig bag, THIS IS THE ONE! (condolences to the guy that got the lemon.

I am a novice uke player. I have a concert uke and this was my first tenor. It sounds great. It gives a more rich and full sound. It does not have the high tinny sound of a traditional uke though. I will probably find myself switching between the two.
