I went through an adventure to get this amp. I bought it used, but in excellent condition.

I use this amp as my main rig. No other pedals as this amp has a range of effects on the ready. It is almost overwhelming with how many presets are on the amp. Around 90 different presets, not including 10 based on the amps without any effects. You could end up getting rather lost in picking the sound you want. Which sounds like a con, but its not. In fact, the joy of dialing in tones ranging from blues to the heaviest of metal is without words.

You have two volume controls. One for the effects and the other the overall volume/master volume. You also have a gain knob, treb-mid-bass controls and a reverb control. You have two speakers in the amp and believe me, you will never need to go full blast with this amp.

The ONLY true con about this amp is its weight. It's pretty heavy to carry it around frequently. I had the worst time hauling the amp up a few flights of steps so it is not my recommendation to select the amp if you are just jamming with friends. Especially if there is a lot of transporting. I would suggest the Mustang 3 or 2 for that. I cannot comment on the Fuse option as i have yet to use it.

I knew that I was getting into a modeling amp when I purchased the Fender Mustang IV, and was really excited to have all the different presets, and the effects modeling, and the ability update the amp, and I thought that being a Fender the sound quality would be a step above, boy was I wrong. It is next to impossible to get a straight forward clean sound out of this thing. Even when you have all of the effects and other extras off, the tone is still completely and very noticably digital! It just killed me that I couldn't get a clear tone out of the amp, it has something missing in the fullness of the sound.
As far as the presets go, there are many, but very few that sound good, and of the ones that sound ok, the quality of the tone is mediocur at best. I wouldn't recommend using this amp professionally at all, now if you're a kid jamming in the garage and want a bunch of different noises to play with, and want to be able to plug into the computer and record, or join the on-line community, this would be great for you. But if you're a serious player and want/need a clear and crisp tone, leave this one alone. My advise is know what you're getting into when you by a modeling amp, no matter who it is made by!

Comments about Fender Mustang IV V.2 150W 2x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

The experience in the store was fantastic. Played and played to find out which guitar she was going to use for performance. And after that, she had to have to amp too.

Comments about Fender Mustang IV V.2 150W 2x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

I have had just about every Half Stack,Combo brand out there over the years. Tube,SS ive had them..My band has been playing more and more shows this year in and out of clubs and i wanted to try a all in one amp for shows. This thing is just the trick for me.I have a Fender twin for clean with chorus and delay and a 5150 rock tone for dirty. I use the 4 and 2 buttonswitch for my set up. With those i can do anything.I mic up this amp on stage and have the vol at 3 and rock with the other guitar player in the band and he is using a all tube half stack. No problems hearing myself. And i like the tone better than my last amp the Orange CR120c. Great amp Fender!

Comments about Fender Mustang IV V.2 150W 2x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

I have owned many amps over the years, combo's, heads, SS, hybrids, all tube, from an array of manufacturers. Ever been in the situation where you love the amp, but then you tend to find weakness'so for one reason or another. I purchased a mustang 3 v2, modded it to run a marshall 2936 212 cab, what a fresh breath of air, no loud hissing, sweet cleans, great amp models and no pedals all over the floor, waiting for one of them to play up. Now purchased the big brother mustang lv. So no cab to lug about. Fender have really nailed the sounds out of these amps, they just don't sound sterile like most SS amps, they even react like a tube amp, cleaning up if you roll of your volume on guitar. Imo they are under priced. There defo on a winner with these amps, reliability? Who knows, guess to early to tell with V2s. Some YouTube shootouts with original classic vintage amps, people have been unable to tell the difference. Well done fender.

Comments about Fender Mustang IV V.2 150W 2x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

During several days demoing the Mustang IV v.2 vs.the Mustang III v.2 at two local GC stores, using identical Factory Presets and my customized settings, I consistently felt the MIV v.2 had a noticably preferable fuller and richer tone, than the MIII v.2. They are both terrific Amps! And, sounds better once you get past most of the extreme FX laden Factory Presets 00-82.

The Basic Profiled Amp models in Factory Preset Memories 83-99 are a great place to start finding your preferred tones, as these have no FX enabled. The Advanced Amp settings (tap Amp button 2x) gets you deeply into the Mustang's Magic. Here you may adjusts SAG, BIAS, Cab Simulations, and more. Note: These Advanced Amp settings are individual for each of the 100 Presets - they are not a global adjustment! With the Mustangs a subtle adjustment to any of a Preset's Amp or FX parameters can go a long way!

The Free Fender FUSE software can do a lot for Windows or Mac users. However, if you have an Android tablet or smartphone, the REMUDA App is the way to go! It does things FUSE lacks and makes editing, reorganizing, and using the Amp much easier and convenient!

I bought the Mustang IV v.2 during the 2014 year-end Holidays Sale, soon after buying a Mustang III v.2 because the MIV was temporarily out of stock. I subsequently chose to also keep the Mustang III v.2. Both have been exceptional and flawless ever since. I subsequently added the optional EXP-1 Volume and Expression pedal accessory to significantly expand to the Amp's functionality and enjoyment.

Particularly, as I have two Mustangs and friends with Mustang's, the REMUDA App's automatic .fuse format file create feature helps easily email Preset files to others and configuire both my Amps. REMUDA's Drag & Drop Reorganize Presets and Reorder Signal Chain features are great. And, REMUDA's Preset Favorites Marker and Performance Mode Song SetList Feature really adds to the Mustangs!

Comments about Fender Mustang IV V.2 150W 2x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

I Love this Amp! I just started playing again after about a 9 year hiatus. My gear was in sad shape so I decided on some new stuff. This amp is way more than what I need at this time, which gives me some room to grow. It has plenty of pre-programed tones. The only drawback is navigating through the presets with just he amp and footswitch is minor. The "Fender Fuse" software is easy to use (my desktop way exceeds the recommended requirements). I got a killer deal on a used 2 button footswitch and EXP-1 pedal which also improves the use of this amp. I recommend this product. The features and price make it a great value.

The options are endless and i am having a blast - even with my limited catalogs of songs I know - finding the right amp setting on one of the 100 pre-set settings is proving to be great fun (and practice). This is absolutely the best music purchase I have made.
