I haven't used this amp in a show yet...but the amp I was using was a Fender M80 from 1991...to which many other musicians gave me grief over...until they heard it. This amp is very similar...my guess is anyone that complains about the sound quality probably doesn't understand how to get good, workable guitar tone out of ANY amp.

The first thing I did was replace the default setting using the FUSE software. This is pretty easy to do if you're not a luddite. I took the 65 Deluxe Reverb, cut the gain all the way back, set my Mid and Bass between 8 and 10, and dropped the tone down to 3ish. Volume to your liking. This may not sound right, but trust me...this will get you that nice warm tone. That is my default tone now that I start with when I'm creating a new preset. You can replace any of the preset spots through the software.

I'm almost 45...I love my day job, and gave up on the pipe dream of making it big many years ago. Every place where I live mics amps...so I see these guys bringing in 4x12 cabs with marshal heads...there's absolutely no chance of getting into the sweet volume area with those...and oh, by the way, sound guys HATE those high powered rigs! They see me walk in with a little 100 watt solid state amp, and they love me! I also don't need a large vehicle, or someone else to carry my amp.

This is a great amp, so far...but again...I'll know more after my next live performance.

I hate this amp so much. I originally bought it and was happy with what I can do with all the presets but most of the presets are pretty bad. I found myself having to make my own settings, but I expected that. What I did not expect was the constant buzzing and inconsistency of frequencies. Whenever I wasn't playing or touching something metal on my Jazzmaster, the amp would hum and buzz really loud. I would switch wires but no. I figured I got a bad Mustang 3 because this wasn't happening when I would play the amp at GC. So, I switched amps and got a different mustang 3 in hopes the buzzing would go away, but it didn't. The buzz will even be there on clean channels, with the volume low. It's especially bad on my Jazzmaster, even after a noisegate. Would play my Epiphone Les Paul thru the amp and it would still buzz, not as bad as the jazzmaster though. Would not recommend this amp...

Comments about Fender Mustang III V.2 100W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

Very easy to program with the amp itself. I have added to and changed settings on 10 amplifier default sounds. I'am still learning the 2way foot pedal.

Comments about Fender Mustang III V.2 100W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

got this amp & couldn't be happier. it's powerful (100 watts) , lightweight , very versatile & pretty much eliminates having to go out & spend hundreds of more dollars for effect pedals & a rack. some of the pre-sets are kinda useless , but to each his own ... but , even the pre-sets can be modified & saved. the pre-sets have everything from nice clean sounds to heavy metal sounds ... there's something for every style of music. then you have another 17 amps settings that can be modified any way you like . this amp comes with a 2-switch floor pedal , but to get the maximum out of this amp , go buy the 4-switch floor pedal ($45) which has a tuner & can save 3 of your selected sounds & still being able to scroll through all the other sounds of the amp. it has enough power to play in any size room ... very happy with this amp.

I love all of the many functions that come with this amp. I don't even know how to use most of them since I just started playing, but my guitar teacher absolutely loved it. This amp is worth every penny.

Comments about Fender Mustang III V.2 100W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

I purchased this amp at GC in Killeen to replace my Spider IV Line 6 amp and I must say that I should have stayed with Fender right from the start, would have saved myself many, many months of stress and frustration. This 100 watt amp is right on the money, I couldn't ask for an easier amp to work with and I get a great country tone out of it without having to completely reprogram the amp like I did with the Line 6. Fenders quality control is also much higher, and I have never been let down by a Fender product in 41 years of playing. When I plug in my Gretsch, I get all of the warmth that I need from the amp and don't have to go to great lengths to get the tone that I want. I have a 65 Blackface Twin Reverb, but I don't take it out anymore due to the amp and case weighing a ton! Now I can get almost the same sound without having to mess up my knees and back anymore than what they are already! This amp is very light and does everything that I need it to do and more! I really can't say enough good about it!

Comments about Fender Mustang III V.2 100W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

I am primarily a worship guitar player (both lead and rhythm).
My typical rig is a very sweet sounding Vox AC15 tube amp. I decided to expand for some new crunchy tones and wanted to check out a modelling amp, primarily for practice so I don't have to lug my amp and pedals between rehearsal and service 3 days later.
I did some online homework, decided the Mustang III was for me and then went to my local Guitar Center to pick one up. I told the sales rep what I was there for and they recommended checking out a Line 6 Spider V before purchase because it is a little cheaper, newer, and has some features the Mustang doesn't. So he dropped a Strat in my hands with single coils on neck and middle and bucker in the bridge to cover the different sounds from my guitars. I was not impressed with the Spider. I felt like every setting needed tweaking and didn't naturally produce good tones (I chalked it up to maybe I'm spoiled because my standard rig is a tube amp). I hooked up to the Mustang and it was like magic happened. I played the first setting and liked it, spun the dial and liked it, spun it again and liked it again. That makes a pretty easy sell.
Confused, I asked what the difference between the 2 was to help solidify my decision. Honestly, all modelling amps are designed to create made up sounds anyway right? He said the only differences he could think of were the interface, user tonal preference, and that the Line 6 offers wireless capability. OK, here is what I figured out when I got it home - the Mustang has a Celestion Greenback in it! I don't know what is in that Spider but I can tell you having a Celestion Greenback in your amp is a win.
That being said the Mustang does not quite produce the same type of tube warmth that my Vox does, but it creates a huge variety of decent Fender cleans and LOTS of different crunchy sounds that are awesome! You won't regret purchasing this guy if you are thinking about it.

Played acoustic only for years, and I'm finally getting back into playing electric. This amp was definitely the way to go for me. Great all-in-one package that provides all the effects pedals you could ask for along with a multitude of amp models. Just started using the Fuse online forum to download some of the presets that others have made, and this has been a great bonus. Great tone, and at 100A it's got plenty of volume.

Comments about Fender Mustang III V.2 100W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

I went on an amp buying spree (line 6 spider v60, blackstar idcore 100, katana 50w combo, marshall code 50, and this mustang III V2)

the mustang won without a doubt! sounded the best, felt the best (you guitar players know what I mean), the price was right, the weight was great, super easy to use. I thought I would hate the mustang because of the screen (menu diving), and to be honest, I didn't like the way it looked. But one afternoon with it, I knew the screen was a good thing, and I could get over how it looked because of the sound. I like old sounds (no crazy reverbs or delays). Just an amp cranked up with maybe some reverb and trem. This mustang amp delivered that in spades!! I know I've said this many times already, but this amp delivered the best clean fender sounds!

btw I own a real vintage deluxe reverb and this mustang amp gets too close to it. It's a little uncomfortable how close it can get. In a band context, you'd never be able to tell the difference.

It's 1:30 in the afternoon and I have the Mustang set with a distortion setting that makes me relive my 70's roots as a guitar player. The walls are shaking, my ears are dripping and I cant stop playing. I am in tone heaven with heavy distortion and delay. I suddenly realize I am LOUD and in an apartment. The crazy thing is my Mustang III is only on 4 (master), This amp kicks, I cant wait to see what it sounds like at 6. Buy it, spend some time with it, and I know you will LOVE it.
