I haven't used this amp in a show yet...but the amp I was using was a Fender M80 from 1991...to which many other musicians gave me grief over...until they heard it. This amp is very similar...my guess is anyone that complains about the sound quality probably doesn't understand how to get good, workable guitar tone out of ANY amp.

The first thing I did was replace the default setting using the FUSE software. This is pretty easy to do if you're not a luddite. I took the 65 Deluxe Reverb, cut the gain all the way back, set my Mid and Bass between 8 and 10, and dropped the tone down to 3ish. Volume to your liking. This may not sound right, but trust me...this will get you that nice warm tone. That is my default tone now that I start with when I'm creating a new preset. You can replace any of the preset spots through the software.

I'm almost 45...I love my day job, and gave up on the pipe dream of making it big many years ago. Every place where I live mics amps...so I see these guys bringing in 4x12 cabs with marshal heads...there's absolutely no chance of getting into the sweet volume area with those...and oh, by the way, sound guys HATE those high powered rigs! They see me walk in with a little 100 watt solid state amp, and they love me! I also don't need a large vehicle, or someone else to carry my amp.

This is a great amp, so far...but again...I'll know more after my next live performance.

I didn't like it. I play Harmonica and Yamaha WXT11 Midi Wind Instrument. I often play in coffee house situations, sometimes I run a backing track to play with. The Mustang 111 doesn't reproduce the full spectrum - drums and lower midrange frequencies are dull. I heard good things about this amp from other harp players. I suppose they like the fact that you can replicate the old overdriven tweed "Chicago" style harp. I do too, but I also play acoustic and need a clean sound that includes all of the harmonics of the instrument. In that mode, the Mustang falls short, and it doesn't come close to matching a keyboard amp - strictly a guitar amp for beginners and hobbyists.

The Fuse software is a big plus, you really can dial in what you are looking for. This amp is excellent for studio work at any level, that's why I had to give it a couple of stars - not useless, but not really useful for my purpose. Juke joint harp players . . . you might like it for that high distortion sound, it sends a good signal to the house, but you have to put something like a Mojo Pad between you and this amp.

Amazing guitar amp for practicing, jamming, recording, and gigging.

By Basel Najjar

Comments about Fender Mustang III V.2 100W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

Got this as a birthday present a few months ago, and I can honestly say that I could not be more satisfied with it. Once you get past the learning curve of figuring out how all the functions work, this amp allows for limitless possiblities. The only thing missing is a loop function (which is easily solved by purchasing a loop pedal). The sound is crystal clear at low and high outputs. Extraordinary array of options and settings to create any kind of sound you are looking for. It's possible to play literally any genre of music with the number of options that are available. I love the fact that you can go in and deep edit each individual stomp-box and effect right there on the amp. The display and controls are simple and clear. It's also extremely versatile. Low volumes are still clear and are great for a "bedroom amp," the USB-out is great for home and studio recording, and with 100 watts, it's definetely loud enough to rock out smaller gigs. All in all great product that I am sure I will be using for a long, long time.

All I got to say is WOW!!!! this amp sounds great it has great pre set sounds and of you don't find something you like you could always dial in your settings to your own taste. The sound is really clean and with 100 watts it packs enough punch for gigs and finally for a fender you can't beat the low price I highly recommend it.

Major Performance at a Great Price

      By William Olander

      from Bloomingdale, IL

Comments about Fender Mustang III V.2 100W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

The age of electronics always amazes and this amp is not an exception. It has huge capabilities, works well at low practice volumes, and can punch it out for jamming. With a hundred preprogrammed profiles, it is easy to find most sound profiles that are desired. The profiles also can have volume settings so that a player can scroll from background to lead sound levels. The construction is solid and the feel is of the old quality amps of the past. There isn't any break up at high volume levels. The only downside is that scrolling to the various profiles can be tedious. This problem is solved by re-arranging the profiles with the FUSE software. For a playlist of songs, it is possible for a player to arrange the sound profiles for a predetermined playlist and just scroll as each number is played. Great amp.

Comments about Fender Mustang III V.2 100W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

I have had this amp for a month or so and love it. You can get a lot great sounds and and effects out of it. when you switch effects and channels it is seamless no hesitation at all. Very loud amp I bought the 4 button mustang switch so I can tune my guitar from floor that's a nice feature. I would recommend this amp to anyone from beginner to pro. It is very easy to use and plugging into computer gives you a experience like no other.

Comments about Fender Mustang III V.2 100W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

I did a lot of research. I was looking for an amp that would replace my 65 Super Reverb bc the weight of the 65 was too heavy to drag along to practice in the studio. I couldn't decide between this and the Champion. Both amps are great. I went with this bc I was able to change change the presets to fit all my needs. I read on a couple of reviews that getting a clean setting was next to impossible. I'm 55 years old old school guitar player. After sitting with the amp a couple of hours I was able to get clean, dirty, jazz, blues,... tones. The settings are endless. The 65 preset isn't as warm as my tubed 65 but it is close for a solid state amp. I would highly recommend this amp.

Comments about Fender Mustang III V.2 100W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

Terrific Amp! Sounds Great once you get past most of the extreme FX laden Factory Presets 00-82. The Basic Profiled Amp models in Factory Preset Memories 83-99 are a great place to start finding your preferred tones, as these have no FX enabled. The Advanced Amp settings (tap Amp button 2x) gets you deeply into the Mustang's Magic. Here you may adjusts SAG, BIAS, Cab Simulations, and more. Note: These Advanced Amp settings are individual for each of the 100 Presets - they are not a global adjustment! With the Mustangs a subtle adjustment to any of a Preset's Amp or FX parameters can go a long way!

The Free Fender FUSE software can do a lot for Windows or Mac users. However, if you have an Android tablet or smartphone, the REMUDA App is the way to go! It does things FUSE lacks and makes editing, reorganizing, and using the Amp much easier and convenient!

I bought the Mustang III v.2 during the 2014 year-end Holidays Sale, and it has been flawless ever since. I subsequently added the optional 4 button footswitch and EXP-1 Volume and Expression pedal accessories. Each significantly adds to the Amp's functionality and enjoyment.

This thing is pretty awesome. It comes with a huge amount of presets and allows for a lot of adjustments to be made to the separate sounds to get what you want. It gets LOUD but still maintains itself in clarity. It is perfect for garage band practice or even live shows

Comments about Fender Mustang III V.2 100W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

This is a great amp! If you are interested in one of the top end Solid State amps for a great price check this amp out. This amp has something for everyone. If you are new to amps and or amp modeling there are some great YouTube videos out there and the patches from Fender are outstanding. Check out the guys from intheblues on YouTube for their blind tests and see for yourself why this amp rocks. Also you can download their legit patches.

The only things I would improve on is the ability to add more than one stomp box effect in line for the modeling. This wouldn't be too difficult but right now you can't. Also an EQ would be awesome for the rack settings.

Highly recommend this amp! You will enjoy it.

I use this amp at home for my own enjoyment. I like that there is a headphone jack and aux input. This allows me to practice without bothering the family. Oh, and when I can, about 5 volume will let me dust the house when nobody's home! What a great amp with more tone options and combinations than I can imagine. Crystal clear clean that I wanted from a Fender along with gain that covers what I expected as well. The features this amp has presents an extrodinary value. I wanted a tube amp, but when it comes down to it, the sound coming from this amp makes it hard for me to tell the real difference. Not to take anything away from a tube amp, but the features here made this a no brainier for me.

Comments about Fender Mustang III V.2 100W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

This sucker is pretty impressive for what it is. By the money, it really doesn't get better. Lots of tweak ability to get real fender amp configs figured. If you made a special cabinet for this, you could fool fender buffs its a Princeton or Twin. Really has some good guts to it. Only things I'm disappointed in aren't necessary but being a digital board, I'm curious how they over looked em; no effects loop bypass or mix ( would be very useful and really only a matter of the software not the internal routing) , the software Fender Fuse is pretty useless, the control panel on the amp is much easier to use. Also, I can't seem to crack into amplitude or other IK software to add effects. On the whole, an effects loop volume knob would fix my only issue with this amp. Sounds amazing and blows away all my other players heavy relic amps.

Comments about Fender Mustang III V.2 100W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

After years of having a Peavey 40 watt in my mancave for my personal use of goofing around and trying to get interested in practicing again, I decided to upgrade my gear to this 100 watt Fender. And I'm glad I did.
The things I have learned about the new technology is really astonishing.Integrating this amp in to my home entertainment center, starting with the computer, was a bit of a challenge until I figured out how to change the settings on my sound card. I love the all natural Fender sound this amp has, and with the sound hooked through the computer to my Yamaha surround sound down here it just comes alive! The Fender FUSE is really very cool. Having control of the sound parameters on the screen is really awesome too.The third party software 'IK', was a little intimidating at first because I wasn't sure if I was ready to try this 'Home Recording' stuff yet.But soon figured out the concept behind the 'Amplitube'. I had no idea you could do these things until I started doing them.Simulating amps, stompboxes, microphones and different head configurations along with the ability to record myself through the amp to the computer, through the simulators to the speakers and sub woofer down here is just unreal.I just turned this 100 watt amp into a monster sound system.
I'm still learning to use the 'IK' software for the whole recording thing, but I have figured out that there are so many tonal possibilities with Amplitube that it should keep me interested for a long time to come.

Comments about Fender Mustang III V.2 100W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

I was the owner of a Version 1 model. and just got the Version 2. I had the dreaded FIZZ on cleans with any guitar I put through the amp. They were subtle but I returned it and waited on this amp. This V2, is simply Done Right! The addition of a few amp models and Fx are great, and the Clean sounds are worth every penny. Sorry to Line 6. Fender surpassed all the modelling amps here, AND does it with the Classic Fender style. You can use mostly all of the Presets out of the box. IF you are new to modelling amps, then you will have to learn to tweak a bit. BUT That should NOT deter from getting the V2!!! The sounds and cosmetic changes are very nicely done. Tube Sounds? Yes It does that, Metal? Yup, All Genres? Yes Fender Mustang does that too! Nice open back cabinet with the Celestion makes for a nice High Definition sound. NOW when you start to use the FUSE software? This is where it gets nice and deep. You can change so many parameters I cannot list them. and in real time! If you need a nice lightweight good all around amp.. Get this Mustang V2, Look it up, research it. It is worth more than every penny and every minute spent!

Comments about Fender Mustang III V.2 100W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

Great for rehearsal and small rooms. Forget all the nonsense about modelling amps -- you can tweak up a few favourites in here and you have everything you need for whatever style you're into. The foot pedal configuration, amps and cabs, and overall tweakability mean you have to try out this thing if you are looking for a small combo and are thinking tube or solid state. It really does sound good at low and high volume -- doesn't seem to lack the grunt of a tube combo even when you push it.

Comments about Fender Mustang III V.2 100W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

So far so good...I've always been a "Buy clean" kind of guy. I always felt like it was important to buy an amp that had great clean tone...distortion can be added generally pretty easily. This amp seems to have both! I've played it loud enough to irritate everyone in the house, but have not used it in the studio with other musician's yet (I've not even had it for a full week). I've managed to get some great tones out of it with headroom to spare on settings. The software is very easy to use after about 5-10 minutes of playing around with it. It will teach you the value of subtle adjustments.

Comments about Fender Mustang III V.2 100W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

I'm a tube guy. I still own my very first tube amp, a 1972 Fender Deluxe Reverb. It still sounds amazing.
Because I no longer take the Deluxe Reverb out, I was looking for an low watt, light weight, TUBE amp to use when I perform.
I've heard a lot of good things about these low watt tube amps available today from Blackstar, Marshall, Vox and others. None of them sounded good to my ear. Always something missing. So I started looking at larger amps, Fender Hot Rod III, Blues Deluxe, Marshall 40 Watt...
Now things are getting expensive and weighing a lot more.
One day I was in GC and the salesman suggested the Mustang. So I tried it. Glad I did. For $265 (sale price), it sounded better than any low watt, low price tube I tried. Not only did it sound better, it has 18 amp models (including the Deluxe Reverb!)
Unless you're looking at a high end tube amp, don't waste your money. The modern Solid State (SS) amps have come a long way and sound amazing close to their Tube counterpart. While I'm save up for a really good Tube amp, I'm having tons of fun with a great sounding SS amp. I use it for practice and recording (I use my Deluxe Reverb for most of my recordings).
There's still no replacing a really good Tube Amp, but for the money, This is as close as you'll get.

First off if your a jazz player, I am at times, run from this amp as fast as you can. It has no ability to produce a decent clean sound. Now for the rest of us, mostly rockers. I have had this amp for five days now and I am still trying to complete the programing. I have 15 hours in so far and nothing satisfactory is comming from the amp. It has a large variety of voicings, about 100, but each has to be tuned to your particular guitar and string set-up.It does have plenty of power. If you have your own pedals then this amp is a waste of your time. If you have no pedals then this amp gives you a lot. One last note this amp does not work well with loop stations.

Comments about Fender Mustang III V.2 100W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

After several years of using VOX modeling amps I decided to see how Fender was doing in that arena. I am pretty happy with the sound and the effects available with this small unit. I have read several reviews from others that speak of difficulty in programming and comments that they are only for rock players. I couldn't disagree more. I play many kinds of material and the majority requires a warm, clean sound. Since I have a decade of experience in working with modeling amps I was able to dial in some very usable patches quite quickly. I do prefer hooking it up to my computer to do so though I tweak it directly on gigs. My only complaint is how few parameters are instantly changeable with the footpedals and the several clicks necessary to move through the patches. I bought the additional four button pedal and am using that in addition to the two button pedal which comes with.
