Nice user reviews that helped me make the move to get the Mustang 3. I tried the amp in a local store and all the built in fx were controllable on the LCD display which was practically self explanatory. It let me choose out of 17 amps all of which are famous modeled amps. Then it let me pick up to 5 effects and place any of them in before amp or after amp mode. Nice stereo after amp effects. These fx are filled with controls. Gotta hear it in stereo headphones. I love classic rock music and I was able to select a British 80s Marshall model setting the speaker SIM to 4x12M stack. Place the Ranger Boost in front of amp SIM and It really does a great Marshall with the 4x12M speaker SIM. The fx are hands down best of the modeling amps and many are stereo post rack type or in front of the amp m Just like a real amp setup the order of the pedals changes the flavor of the sound. The Green box pedal effect is even better than Screamer as it lets a bypass blend of fx. This amp does great classic rock sound. The Twin is the best modeler by far with compression chorus and stereo delay. Tubelike for sure. Factory presets are weak because when turning up loud the headroom is to dynamic. Just adding the compressor fx in front of each patch will correct this bad factory programming. This will also emulate what a tube amp does naturally which is nail the sweet spot. Always add half sec delay tad of reverb to give a live sound and there you have it. No matter what a tube snob tells you this amp will record better every time with stereo xlr outputs that are incredibly accurate and noise less. Always use the noise gate. There is also a Studio Amp preset to take pedals into the amp and it really enhances the heat of the sound. Any distortion pedal or booster becomes more dynamic thru this preset. The Free downloadable Fuse librarian editor is a must have. So easy and cool to use. All the amps and knobs visually accurate. The best software on any modeling amp for sure.

This Amp is fantastic for recording. It has tons of pre-amp effects and models other great amps pretty well. I was disappointed with the inability to get a good clean channel out of it. The 2 button switch bounces you back and forth between various amp models and settings. Perhaps others have figured out how to get it clean and make the pedal more functional. It's complicated in my opinion and has left me seeking something much more simple. The amp itself sounds fantastic. It just does way more than I need or understand.

Comments about Fender Mustang III V.2 100W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

I love all of the many functions that come with this amp. I don't even know how to use most of them since I just started playing, but my guitar teacher absolutely loved it. This amp is worth every penny.

I was looking for a modeling amp that could be used for practice or performance with headphone, aux in, lots of presets, especially of the clean variety - also effects loop so I could use my looper pedal. This amp does it all and more! Get it.

Comments about Fender Mustang III V.2 100W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

I hate this amp so much. I originally bought it and was happy with what I can do with all the presets but most of the presets are pretty bad. I found myself having to make my own settings, but I expected that. What I did not expect was the constant buzzing and inconsistency of frequencies. Whenever I wasn't playing or touching something metal on my Jazzmaster, the amp would hum and buzz really loud. I would switch wires but no. I figured I got a bad Mustang 3 because this wasn't happening when I would play the amp at GC. So, I switched amps and got a different mustang 3 in hopes the buzzing would go away, but it didn't. The buzz will even be there on clean channels, with the volume low. It's especially bad on my Jazzmaster, even after a noisegate. Would play my Epiphone Les Paul thru the amp and it would still buzz, not as bad as the jazzmaster though. Would not recommend this amp...

Comments about Fender Mustang III V.2 100W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

I purchased this amp at GC in Killeen to replace my Spider IV Line 6 amp and I must say that I should have stayed with Fender right from the start, would have saved myself many, many months of stress and frustration. This 100 watt amp is right on the money, I couldn't ask for an easier amp to work with and I get a great country tone out of it without having to completely reprogram the amp like I did with the Line 6. Fenders quality control is also much higher, and I have never been let down by a Fender product in 41 years of playing. When I plug in my Gretsch, I get all of the warmth that I need from the amp and don't have to go to great lengths to get the tone that I want. I have a 65 Blackface Twin Reverb, but I don't take it out anymore due to the amp and case weighing a ton! Now I can get almost the same sound without having to mess up my knees and back anymore than what they are already! This amp is very light and does everything that I need it to do and more! I really can't say enough good about it!

Comments about Fender Mustang III V.2 100W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

I am primarily a worship guitar player (both lead and rhythm).
My typical rig is a very sweet sounding Vox AC15 tube amp. I decided to expand for some new crunchy tones and wanted to check out a modelling amp, primarily for practice so I don't have to lug my amp and pedals between rehearsal and service 3 days later.
I did some online homework, decided the Mustang III was for me and then went to my local Guitar Center to pick one up. I told the sales rep what I was there for and they recommended checking out a Line 6 Spider V before purchase because it is a little cheaper, newer, and has some features the Mustang doesn't. So he dropped a Strat in my hands with single coils on neck and middle and bucker in the bridge to cover the different sounds from my guitars. I was not impressed with the Spider. I felt like every setting needed tweaking and didn't naturally produce good tones (I chalked it up to maybe I'm spoiled because my standard rig is a tube amp). I hooked up to the Mustang and it was like magic happened. I played the first setting and liked it, spun the dial and liked it, spun it again and liked it again. That makes a pretty easy sell.
Confused, I asked what the difference between the 2 was to help solidify my decision. Honestly, all modelling amps are designed to create made up sounds anyway right? He said the only differences he could think of were the interface, user tonal preference, and that the Line 6 offers wireless capability. OK, here is what I figured out when I got it home - the Mustang has a Celestion Greenback in it! I don't know what is in that Spider but I can tell you having a Celestion Greenback in your amp is a win.
That being said the Mustang does not quite produce the same type of tube warmth that my Vox does, but it creates a huge variety of decent Fender cleans and LOTS of different crunchy sounds that are awesome! You won't regret purchasing this guy if you are thinking about it.

Played acoustic only for years, and I'm finally getting back into playing electric. This amp was definitely the way to go for me. Great all-in-one package that provides all the effects pedals you could ask for along with a multitude of amp models. Just started using the Fuse online forum to download some of the presets that others have made, and this has been a great bonus. Great tone, and at 100A it's got plenty of volume.

no reason to get a different amp

Comments about Fender Mustang III V.2 100W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

I went on an amp buying spree (line 6 spider v60, blackstar idcore 100, katana 50w combo, marshall code 50, and this mustang III V2)

the mustang won without a doubt! sounded the best, felt the best (you guitar players know what I mean), the price was right, the weight was great, super easy to use. I thought I would hate the mustang because of the screen (menu diving), and to be honest, I didn't like the way it looked. But one afternoon with it, I knew the screen was a good thing, and I could get over how it looked because of the sound. I like old sounds (no crazy reverbs or delays). Just an amp cranked up with maybe some reverb and trem. This mustang amp delivered that in spades!! I know I've said this many times already, but this amp delivered the best clean fender sounds!

btw I own a real vintage deluxe reverb and this mustang amp gets too close to it. It's a little uncomfortable how close it can get. In a band context, you'd never be able to tell the difference.

It's 1:30 in the afternoon and I have the Mustang set with a distortion setting that makes me relive my 70's roots as a guitar player. The walls are shaking, my ears are dripping and I cant stop playing. I am in tone heaven with heavy distortion and delay. I suddenly realize I am LOUD and in an apartment. The crazy thing is my Mustang III is only on 4 (master), This amp kicks, I cant wait to see what it sounds like at 6. Buy it, spend some time with it, and I know you will LOVE it.
