wooow great practice amp for $200 !!! i am a beginner player and bought this about a month ago. For starters I bought this amp at the robinson township store in Pittsburgh, PA. staff was great and the service is outstanding. I bought a mex SSH strat and had a decision between the Line6 and the fender . personally the Line6 is very complicated and there are alot of diffrent settings for it. this Amp has 24 presets that are loaded with he factory settings which i so far have only used half. "WARNING" if you are an old school player who lives in a box and not computer savvy you may not like this amp and may need to stick to the great fender tube amps, reason is you should connect this amp to you computer for customization of all the presets. I hightly recomend the Fender Fuse download , which is the softwear for the amp. this amp comes with a USB and when your set up connect the amp to your computer and registered online (which is totaly free). Then download the driver from the amp to your computer and then the fun begins, this is not hard it is basically plug and play. now you can chose from about 15 or 20 historical amps, including tube amps which sound great, from the fender line and a few extra non fenders(there is a hint of an Orange tube in there). you can program with the guitar pluged in through the computer probably about 1000+ diffrent preamp, reverb, distortions, fuzz, and other pedal combos all on your computer and save them to the amp. unplug and play your favorite settings and cobos you create online. the only down side is when setting your customer amps , turn the volume from the computer setting all the way up, so when you unplugg just need to use the master volume control on the amp, you will see what I mean. i have leared so much about diffrent sounds and stomp boxes from this amp program, great learning tool. there is an optional foot switch for like 20 or 30 bucks and it is not a stomp box and is kinda chincy but i am going to get it just to mess with.you can plug your Ipod with a standard AUX cable and play along with songs. and yes plug any earphone in there with no need for a 1/4 inch plug thats nice. i recomend monitoring headphone to get exact tones ask a store emp for cheap good ones. if you gig small venues (bars, cafes, very small clubs) it can fill the room. if your like touring or in a big hall you will probably have to get a tube amp or the 100 w VIII just to fill a room just because is 40w its still a combo amp may need to test awile. so its a great amp and i may get a tube amp down the road because of this amp!!! sorry for the legnth but some frownie faces out there are knocking this amp, mostly because they cant read the manual and experience all that fender has to offer on fender fuse.
I've played acoustic guitar for years. I just recently bought an electric guitar and the Mustang II amp. It's a good learning tool if you are not familiar with guitar effects. And with the right settings, it makes a great acoustic amp as well. The FUSE software is pretty cool, too. You can create and store your own effects. If you are playing on-stage, you can have different effects for each song. A good tablet computer mounted on a mic stand might be handy for this. I would like to see a "playlist" feature in FUSE.
Wow! This amp is awesome. 40 watts is loud enough and perfect for me and the venues I play at. I have owned, at one time or another, most of the tube amp models that this has. And I must say they are either right on or as close to the tube amps as my ears can recall. It is like having 8 amps in one and that can translate to 24 amps with the turn of a knob. And the 24 effects it has is like having a pedal board with 24 effects pedals. And you can mix or match and design your own great sound. What an amp for under $200 dollars. This is a great all around amp for all styles of music. You can be whatever you want to be with this gear.
I just bought this today at the North Attleboro, Mass. store . I can't believe that this amp is only 200 bucks. What a helluva deal folks. I needed a new amp because my vintage 1989 Peavey bandit 112 died on me yesterday, so I figured I'd give one of these a try after hearing so much about them. I'll admit , there are so many options on here to get the sound that you want, but that is what's so fun about it. I have to say for a 40 watt combo, this sucker is plenty LOUD !!!! I can definately gig with this with my band whether it's miked or not. I'm still getting used to what the pre-sets are on this , so excuse me while I go back to having fun with this.
