To be honest, I'm not the most experienced or skillful players around but this guitar definitely is pretty solid, at least for a first guitar.

It looks great, with a thick gloss finish on the vintage sunburst.

The guitar stays in tune since day one after I got it at the guitar shop and came with excellent strings.

The guitar is quite versatile. The P90 pickup can provide some excellent clean tone. Also, the dirty sounds can be done really well too.

As I've said, my opinion is still one of a beginner. But I'll recommend it to a friend :)

I love Telecasters, I have a vintage thinline with a P-90 neck pickup. So I thought this guitar might make an inexpensive replacement to take to knock around gigs. I just did not care for the sound, too muddy, no crispness. Played well, looked nice, the black transparent finish was a little darker than the pictures, but still beautiful. well made, good quality. I sent it back, now trying a butterscotch blonde solid body Tele.

Comments about Fender Modern Player Telecaster Thinline Deluxe Electric Guitar:

This guitar Is fantastic for light weight & feel. The black transparent finish & looks are outstanding. The bridge hardware & saddles seem wimpy, but they function fine. I did swap out the controls to 500k pots & orange drop caps, similar to another reviewer here and it made a tremendous difference in tone. Before that it just seemed to lack fullness in harmonics and tonal range. I am a big fan of teles & was interested in a '72 thin line but this price point was right for my budget. The p90s have that characteristics attack & growl which I was not sure of initially, but I'm quite happy with it now. It has Tele character, but also a bit of '72 thin line range & resonant body to it, hard to perfectly describe. I would give this guitar a solid 5 if it came with my preferred electronics. It's a very fun guitar to sling & just pick up & play unplugged too. It's a keeper.

Comments about Fender Modern Player Telecaster Thinline Deluxe Electric Guitar:

Every revue was 5 stars. I gave it the same as I carefully looked at it out of the box. I was stunned by the wood that was used, how it was put together, and the finish. You are missing something if you don't get sunburst. Loved the solid Maple neck and the action. Out of box, perfect intonation and no buzz anywhere. Love that you can play it softly acoustically. I knew it would be mellower than a solid Tele. But I could not duplicate sounds like I heard on You-tube. No big deal. This is more my style.

light with great sustain. pickups sound nice but are noisy (p90's)-going to replace with noiseless p90's.
neck is great fret work really smooth. played other teles including a $2000 mia thinline. like the neck on this better. even though it's on the thin side it's very comfortable. also have a prs with a wide fat neck but it's easy to adjust to this neck.

Comments about Fender Modern Player Telecaster Thinline Deluxe Electric Guitar:

I really love this guitar. Decided I wanted to get a Thinline Tele and after lots of research- including among some of the much higher end models- I decided to give this Modern Player version a try. I've been really impressed and love both the feel and the sound. Only a month in, but the build quality feels great and the sound from the P90 pups is great. Incredible value for the guitar that it is. Don't be put off for a second that it's Made in China. You're getting a great instrument at a great price- and NO, I don't work for Guitar Center, Fender or anyone else :-)

Comments about Fender Modern Player Telecaster Thinline Deluxe Electric Guitar:

I bought this guitar to get the dual humbucker sound. Am not disappointed. It came out of box pretty much ready to play. Had to change the strings and adjust the pick ups to my tonal preference. The neck has very nice action. I have played a 52'for several years and I find myself picking this guitar up to play more and more often. If you don't mind making a few tweeks thjs is a great guitar. Also, kudos to GC I have become a loyal customer for their great service. The finish on this product is great.

I purchased the modern player telecaster to get the dual humbucker sound I am not disappointed. A very nice guitar to play with very nice action out of the box. The finish is quite nice (black transparent maple). I have always played a 52' but I find myself picking this up more often than not. I did have to change the strings it makes a world of difference in sound and had to adjust the pick ups to get proper tonal quality . A small amount of work to get a great value in sound. I would highly recommend this guitar to any level of player who doesn't mind making a few adjustments to get the sound their after. I would also like to give kudos to GC. I have become a strong customer because of their quality service and delivery without damage. Thanks

            Wow

            By Josh

            from Southaven, MS

Comments about Fender Modern Player Telecaster Thinline Deluxe Electric Guitar:

Wow is really all I can say to this guitar. I'm by no means a gear snob, and typically play guitars in the five to eight hundred dollar range, so I can't speak for how this guitar would compete with an American fender or something of similar quality. That being said, I can say that this is probably one of the nicest guitars I've ever played, especially given it's price. The P-90's give the guitar a thick, warm sound that doesn't completely ditch the classic Tele twang and the mahogany body gives a nice full but remarkably precise tone. The lows are thick and crunchy on the bridge pick up and smooth and jazzy - if sometimes a little muddy - on the neck. The highs are where this thing really shines. I've played more than a few seven and eight hundred dollar guitars where the highs are thin and shrill, but not this beauty. Even the highest notes are clear, clean and have such a such a full body and bright shimmer that sometimes I could swear I'm playing bells. I would recommend this guitar for anyone looking to play blues, jazz, classic rock, more traditional indie rock (like The Strokes) and especially funk. It's definitely not a metal guitar, but then most metal guitars I've played aren't good for much more than metal. The construction is superb for a guitar at this price point. I used to own a MIM Telecaster that was easily more shoddily put together than this, so don't let the Made in China stamp fool you. The neck is incredibly comfortable. I can move through riffs and licks like a knife cuts through butter and the radius of the fretboard is perfect for bends, but still doesn't make it too difficult to bar. The finish is beautiful. I have the sunburst model and both the gloss and the grain of the wood is amazing. I was a little worried when I initially purchased this, but it's easily proven to be my favorite guitar. I actually have a hard time putting it down to focus on work, and if that's the only con I ever find I think I can count myself as a satisfied customer.
