Comments about Fender MandoStrat 8 8-String Mandolin:
Great little cheap electric mando. I've had an acoustic mandolin for about 20 years and I needed an electric for a new project. Needed tuning up out of the box, but that's about it. The pickup works well. No feedback because it is a solid body unlike most of the others. I find you have to roll off a little treble, but it is better to have too much than too little. Straight neck, good intonation. The main thing I like is the very strat-like cutout in the body. Not terribly traditional, but quite functional. You can lean into it with your right arm and play the thing comfortably. Well done, Fender.
