The Limited Edition Sandblasted Ash Stratocaster features one of the most alluringly unusual finish treatments yet seen on a Fender instrument. After the transparent finish is applied, the ash body is literally sandblasted, leaving the surface grain pattern wonderfully textured with parallel ruts and grooves in which the black grain-filler coat shows beneath the color finish coat. It' a truly beautiful look complemented by a black pickguard, and the œtopography of no two instruments is identical. The guitar is also finely appointed with American Standard single-coil Stratocaster pickups, a œno-load tone control for the middle and bridge pickups (bypasses tone control circuitry when turned all the way up), and much more.

Comments about Fender Limited Edition Sandblasted Stratocaster Maple Fingerboard Electric Guitar:
My wife gave me one of these in the blue finish as a gift and I am really liking it. There are some definite pros and a couple of potential cons though. Pros: The color is awesome on this guitar. Very seldom do you find American Strats with a unique finish unless you are getting a custom shop model. The finish is satin and it has grooves, lots of grooves. The pickups are American Standards. This guitar sounds like an American Strat in every way because it is. The playability is pure American Strat except for the six point tremolo which may be a turn off. This is more like an American Special. The guitar comes with a bag. Cons: The finish has deep grooves that will turn off many. The guitar comes with a bag, not a case. This is not a cheap guitar, it should have a case. This plays like an American Nitro Satin which runs twenty percent less. Simply put, you will get this only for the finish. The playability is classic US Strat as is the sound. The guitar looks awesome played live but otherwise it is just a cool looking Strat and that is a good thing.
