I've owned mine for almost a year now. When I found this one I was actually looking for a Mexican Strat that I could hotrod with Fat 50's. I was torn between the Mexican and US Standard models until the GC salesdude suggested that I give the rosewood neck a try......................

I am glad I stumbled onto this guitar. It could become one of those collector axes that everyone is searching for. It plays that nicely and sounds that good. The solid rosewood neck is AWESOME. Even if you can't afford one, you should at least pick it up at the store and jam on it a bit. It will be an experience you will never forget.

I still customized mine a bit but just small things like decked trem, pearl pickguard, mini toggle switch to turn on the bridge pup anytime. The biggest change I made was the bridge saddles. In my opinion, these bent steel saddles are useless for me. I do a lot of string bends. The bent steel saddles don't have a detent on them to keep the string sitting in the middle. So, when I bend, the string moves along the face of the saddle from set screw to set screw. It made it almost impossible to bend the string far enough to get the note I was looking for. But, after I replaced them with saddles I knew I would get along with, I have fallen in love with this guitar.

The tone is fabulous. That vintage Strat sound that so many are looking for is right here. The solid rosewood neck adds so much to the tone and sustain. I was a bit apprehensive about the longevity of the rosewood neck. Almost a year later, the neck is just a fabulous as the day I bought it. I did one slight neck adjustment about 2 months after I got it home. I haven't touched it since.

Overall, this is a really great axe. I have bought and sold numerous guitars during my professional career of 35+ years but this is one that will stay in the family. Maybe my favorite electric to play.......EVER.

I bought this guitar online and was really excited about it. When I received it, I was pleased with how visually striking it was but it was down hill from there. When I ran my hand up the neck, I nearly cut myself on the frets. The guitar was probably stored in a cold, dry warehouse and the frets sprouts were horrible. I gave the guitar some time in a more humid environment but the neck didn't hydrate. You would hope that before shipping, a basic inspection would be done on a 1.5k guitar. The other problem was a really sticky tone knob. It was stuck on 1 and took a strong positive turn (almost a click) to get it to turn. I tried to smooth it out so I could palm the tone knob but no dice. I know that every new guitar needs a little tune upbut this shouldn't have left the warehouse.

An American Icon

By Craig

Comments about Fender Limited Edition American Standard Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

More than just the sum of its parts, the American Strat with its unique solid rosewood neck (not just the fretboard) and headstock is a magnificent example of classic workmanship. Of course it looks great, is beautifully set up, plays like you have gone to Heaven, all of which you would expect for its price, but it is somehow even more than that. Between its appearance, voicing and materials it can only be described as heirloom quality. This is not a guitar to keep in the very fine provided Fender hard case, but stored on a stand where it can be proudly displayed, as very truly, there is no guitar that can top it. This instrument personifies the very summit of American musicianship.

Unique Future Collectible

Comments about Fender Limited Edition American Standard Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

2015 American Standard Stratocaster with all Rosewood Neck. I'm not sure how I stumbled across this guitar, because it doesn't seem to be advertised by either Fender or Guitar Center. There are several dozen different Stratocaster configurations and models-enough to be confusing. But, this is the first one in a long time, to catch my attention. It is listed as limited edition, which, I know, doesn't always mean anything. But with the worldwide limitations in available rosewood stock, I don't see how this could become a continuous model. The neck is unfinished, and has a very smooth, warm feel. The color of the wood is beautiful. The 'etched' Fender logo on the headstock is a new twist, as well. The feel of the guitar is very high quality, and it sounds just as you would expect of a Stratocaster. I just think that this guitar is different enough, that if it is a short-lived model, it is bound to be a sought after instrument in the collector world. This is truly unique offering by Fender and Guitar Center. Thanks.

Accidental Blessing

Comments about Fender Limited Edition American Standard Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

I have always wanted an American Strat and I made up my mind to go and get one. I was in the GC at Alpharetta Georgia looking at every Amer. Strat on the wall. I played many, all of which were marvelous, and made up my mind on one sunburst beauty. The sales staff where helping me and while we were talking about the one I had decided on, I looked at two guitars, one a strat and the other a telly. I looked again and saw the most wonderful strat. It was sunburst and , of all things, had a rosewood neck with etched name Fender and stratocaster on the headstock. I asked the sales person what it was and he got so excited telling me. The GC had only one of the new Limited Edition Rosewood neck strats in the store. He pulled it down from the stand on a shelf and that was all it took for me to decide. I wanted only a rosewood fretboard but this one, Limited Edition with Fat 50's single coil pickups and man what a sound. Out the door I went like a child at Christmas. It is wonderful to say the least. Dr. Johnny M. Ashburn

Amazing

Comments about Fender Limited Edition American Standard Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

I'm one of those guys who had too many guitars that were decent instruments but didn't own "the one" for many years. I traded in 3 guitars for this one. I researched literally for years to figure out what I wanted. A fender style guitar with a solid rosewood neck, and if it was to be a strat, I'd want the fat 50's pickups. I was on Warmoth for the last 4 weeks "building" the perfect guitar and Guttar Center staff told me about this Strat. I saw the blue color and made the deal happen the very next day without even playing one first. The construction is amazing quality. The rosewood neck mellows out the highs that I found annoyed me about strats. It's such a solid wood neck too... it will last forever and Fret jobs will be easy when the time comes. I thought the neck would make the guitar heavy, but I was very wrong. It's very comfortable and is well balanced while wearing a strap. It stays in tune amazingly for a guitar without a Floyd Rose setup. The guitar tech there set it up with 10's as soon as I opened the case and he was the first to play it (which was cool with me as he was an amazing guitarist and I am not). There wasn't a single flaw in this guitar either. They didn't have any at the warehouse so it was a floor model from another store which kind of freaked me out a bit, but again, flawless. Anyone looking into getting an American Made guitar should DEFINITELY consider this one. Find one at a local guitar center and it will blow your mind! Also... only 500 made in each color option so collectable on top of being an amazing instrument. Sorry I went on and on but I can honestly say I found the perfect guitar after searching for years. Hope this helps!

Comments about Fender Limited Edition American Standard Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

Look. If you're thinking about it, then you know. Just get it while you can (limited ed., you know). The neck is a revelation. It's one of the most versatile guitars I've ever owned. It reminds me a lot of my old Gibson ES-175. You can play any style of music on this guitar and it just feels right. The action is fluid and precise from the first fret to the last. Classic Strat sound too, but warmer. Oh, and the solid rosewood neck is beautiful to behold. You'll never get lost in the crowd of Strat owners out there with this one. I got the tobacco starburst, but the hot rod red is pretty cool too. Wish I had something critical to say, but sorry, . . . I'm in heaven.

Comments about Fender Limited Edition American Standard Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

What can be said about the American Standard that hasn't already beed said? This review is more about aesthetics and playing comfort. I was really drawn to the unique look of the solid rosewood neck. Against the Daphne Blue, the rosewood is stunning and the etched headstock logo is very interesting, very cool! I saw it on the wall at GC and thought - WOW, what is that? Just a beautiful guitar and I wanted it on the spot! However, it's not simply a pretty Strat. The neck has a very slick feel to it and it's very easy to get up and down on it. Even when your hands get hot and sweaty - it just never feels sticky. Awesome feel and very fun to play! Fit and finish is superb and it sounds great, as a Strat should! I'm very happy with this guitar!

Beautiful guitar. Walked into my GC at the right time and they just had three new strats shipped in, a custom, and the two solid rosewood limited editions, in 3 color burst and daphne blue. Ended up bringing the burst home that day. Does anyone know how many of these were made and if their value is going to increase in the next few years? Just out of curiosity. Solid rosewood, especially with the way wood is being consumed, you'd figure the value would go up in several years. Any information helps. Thank you

I returned it, it did not meet the expectations

        By Rico Suave

        from Fort Myers, FL

Comments about Fender Limited Edition American Standard Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

I chased this type (rosewood neck) of guitar for a long time. finally I found one and I drove 300 miles to get it. That's how much I wanted it, but it did no live up to my expectations. I got the Red model, which is not even featured online but it is out there. This start is very well made but I encountered a few issues that made me returned. one of the biggest issues to me were the size of the frets. I think they are a little too small and it forces you to press extra hard on the fret board making you tire and more prone to make mistakes as you play. the other big issue was with the tuning. it take longer to get in tune and forget about trying other tunings. it might be the neck or the bridge but it take a while to get it in tune and to keep it tuned. I have several guitars and all USA made. I was comparing this start to my G&L legacy and unfortunately the start does not get even close to the G&L. the Sustain on the Strat is way shorter almost null. the finish of the hardware is much better in the G&L. there's also a big difference in weight the start is lighter and perhaps that's why it doesn't have any sustain. I think it could be better, I'm not sure if I would recommended to some one, at the end it is subjective decision from personal preferences. It is a good guitar but too pricey for what it really offers in its market.

        About Me Experienced

Comments about Fender Limited Edition American Standard Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

Was in the market for an American Standard with a rosewood fretboard. Tried a bunch...all solid guitars worth the price tag. Eyes roaming "the wall" at Guitar Center as I noodled on the one I was about to buy and saw this gem on the top line (out of reach). "What is THAT?". Salesperson pulled it down for me...neck felt incredible. And the neck is everything to me. A/B'd them side by each...same amp, same settings. Noticeable tone difference between the maple neck and the solid rosewood. Deeper, richer...hard to describe, but oh so delicious. I'm done buying Strats after this one. It doesn't get any better. If you have the coin, buy it.

Comments about Fender Limited Edition American Standard Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

Came to my door in a large brown box. Guitar came inside a black/plasic case with Fender logo and red handle. Upon opening the case I was greeted by a heavy "paint" smell. The guitar itself looked "flawless" and was quite honestly the most beautiful guitar I have ever handled in my lifetime. Playing this guitar only extended my already overwhelming pleasure with my purchase. The tones that are echoed from this piece of wood are just "right." I typically never write online reviews for products that I purchase but this product was definetly worth the time. This guitar is most definitely worth the pice tag. In my opinion of course.

Comments about Fender Limited Edition American Standard Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

There are few instruments I've played in my +25 years of playing guitars that have actually spoke to me. First was a PRS custom 24 rosewood fretboard with mother of pearl bird inlays which cost around 4 Grand, back in the late 90's, then in the early 2000's I played on a Taylor 916 ce which would run me 6K. Now I've played on the finest Fender I've ever laid my hands on. This rosewood beauty is amazing. The finest feel and playability you'll ever have on a Fender. For someone who really didn't like Fender strats or telecasters, this instrument changed my opinion of Fender forever. The Tucson store near me had a blue telecaster with the rosewood neck which I fell in love with, but I didn't like the color. I bought this one without ever playing it but I knew the rosewood neck was the magical puzzle piece to my mystery of Fender.

The first thing you'll notice is the amazing tone, the second almost immediate thing will be how easy your hands work up and down the neck. The only thing I can say is I wish they added the cutaway neck so it was easier to hit all frets like the Elite series. The tone will keep you familiar with Fender but the warmness of the rosewood will take you to a new place musically. I play blues, jazz, metal, country - you name it, with any amp this guitar will expand your musical horizons like no other. Pick one up and play it. For me, I'll never be the same again. At under 1500, this thing is a bargain. Limited edition means it will be more than likely worth something some day - but that's not why I bought it. I also picked up a full set of Seymour Duncan Hot Rails along with it - still keeps the amazing Fender tone and gives me the drive I need for heavy distortion. I highly recommend these if you like to do any hard rock/metal sound.

I've owned it for over a month now. I wanted to wait a bit before I wrote a review to really let my emotions settle down…but they haven't :). Play it, buy it, own it - you won't regret it.

Comments about Fender Limited Edition American Standard Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

I swapped out the pickguard loaded with stock pickups with my favorite loaded pickguard from one of my old Strats. They're quieter and fuller sounding than the stock factory pickups. The stock pickguard was removed and stored for reinstallation if I ever sell this guitar.

Comments about Fender Limited Edition American Standard Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

I find this guitar to be of good quality and finish. I have no problems getting any sound I want, it stays in tune for days. To me the sound and feel are the best thing. Still has that Strat twang we love. This is my third American standard and this is by far my favorite . This guitar has a very strong sound, you will want to play six string chords, you can hear each and every note make great harmonics and a sweet powerfull sound. You can crank it, add on effects, drive the amp and the integrity of each note comes through. For me it sounds awesome, I get a sound I like a lot. I would not recommend this guitar, I like being one of the only owners.

Comments about Fender Limited Edition American Standard Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

I'm a 5 year player, started with a squire, upgraded to a MIM strat, then a tele cabronita.... All well made guitars and enjoyable to play, but...... This strat is in a word is exceptional!. So easy to play. I've had a preference for maple necks on fenders, this all rose wood neck tops everything I've played to date (lots of testing gear in GC). The modem c profile is similar to my mim strat neck, but feels like it has a flatness that feels right, and keeps your hand square as you go up and down the feet board. Pickups and electronics are solid, to be expected with an American standard. Increased sustain and body resonance is very noticeable vs my mim. I had to order the daphne blue, it is spectacular... They had the 2 tone burst in the store, it's very nice but, the daphne sets it off, with the stark contrast. If they were out of daphne, I would still get this model, it's that good. Don't look elsewhere, it is exclusive to GC and limited in quantity.... I feel blessed to have found her.

Comments about Fender Limited Edition American Standard Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

This Limited Edition Fender Stratocaster really lives up to it's name. The Solid Rosewood Neck and Custom Shop Texas 58 pickups give this diablo a real kick once you plug it in. Sustaine is exceptional and the pickups and tone will give you a clean sound as well. One thing to note. If taking this out of the USA on trips. Keep in mind the rules pertaining to international CETI laws concerning sustainable/ Non Sustainable woods as when traveling back it could get seized by the F&WS the same agency that raided Gibson back in 2011.

This Stratocaster has amazing features that you would find on the higher end models.. The solid rosewood neck provides superb Resonance in the neck pickup. The pickups are limited custom shop grade which gives you a hot tone at each selection. Light weight as compared to its cousin The Rosewood Telecaster for a fraction of the price.
