I bought the lake placid blue/rosewood combo. Let me tell you, this guitar sounds and looks beautiful. I can't stop playing it. Being a lefty, finding good left handed guitars can be a pain. But this guitar is worth the money and so much more. I recommend this guitar 100%!
This left-handed stratocaster is a great creation. It has both beauty and great tone. The neck is really comfortable and easy to slide you hand down. The pickups sound great. The tremolo is a classical non-locking tremolo, but still works good and stays in tune pretty well. I own a Black Stratocaster with a Maple neck. Tone (Sound): This instrument is great for playing rock, jazz, blues, hard rock, and, yes, metal. I know a lot of people don't think a strat with a single coil bridge pickup can play metal, but they're wrong! The beautiful thing about a stratocaster is that there is so much to it. You have to explore around to find those wanted sounds. I can get a really great Nirvana, Metallica, Pink Floyd, and Jimi Hendrix sound out of this guitar. I highly suggest this for anyone. It has a five way pickup switch. Problems: The only problem I had with sound was that when I picked it up and bought it, the 2nd tone knob connected to the bridge pickup was connected to the middle instead. Other than that, no problems with sound. BE PATIENT WHEN FINDING A WANTED OR DESIRED SOUND!!!!!!! Feel: Very comfortable to play both standing up and sitting down. Neck is great for sliding. Not very heavy. Is perfect in weight. Tuning: Overall, pretty good tuning. I mean, after heavy use on the whammy bar, the strings will come un-tuned. However, before you tune, if you stretch out the strings on the neck and apply downward pressure to the areas near the tuning post, the nut, and then tune, the guitar should go back in tune if you push down on the whammy bar. If you fiddle with the springs in the back of the guitar, in will take some time before the guitar will be able to stay in tune (Maybe a day or two). Look: Looks great. Classic look. After a while, the white pickguard will start to yellow. This will happen if you use it a lot. Limitations: The neck only goes to the 21st fret. What I do if I need to bend higher than the 22nd, is push up on my whammy bar to raise the pitch. I have mine floating. With single coil pickups, your amp might buzz, but that's not that bad of a problem. Comes out of tune if uses the whammy bar too much. My stratocaster is as much my friend as it is my instrument. I can always rely on it for great tone, a perfect feel, and a wonderful instrument at that. Also it's left-handed, so it's perfect for me and any other lefty. Overall, an affordable guitar that looks great, sounds great and is worth it. I've been third, proud owner of the wonderful guitar. It can play everything from Clapton Blues to Metallica's Hard Rock. I own the black/rosewood combonation. Now I have never really been a fan of rosewood fretboards, but this had made me change my mind. It has a fast neck, light alder body, and an amazingly durable finish. I have put a couple of dents in it, and it hasn't chipped or peeled. It stays in tune great and I have never had a problem with it. I love it and will never sell it.
I love this guitar! Being a lefty, finding a great guitar that suits your personality can be a challenge. Other than the pickup, which I'll upgrade to Hot Noiseless, the is one sweet Strat.
not the best guitar i bought it the frets move out of place it untunes easily the nut gets dirty easily wich makes the strings on the first frets buzz i would reccomend buying this for a semi beginner otherwise not the best guitar to buy
I recieved my arctic white/maple fingerboard for my birthday last October, and I could not be any happier that this is the guitar I own. The overall quality of this guitar is superb. It truly is a great instrument. The range of music that can be played on it is amazing. It's perfect for the music I play (Led Zeppelin, Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughn, and Eric Clapton). This guitar will deffinately not dissapoint. It stays in tune very well. I havent changed anything on it at all, and it still plays well. I chose this over a telecaster, and I'm glad I did. I highly recommend this to anyone who's either just starting out, or is a seasoned player. Thank you Fender for the AWESOME guitar.
I bought the squier first. If you have a few extra bucks skip the squier and get this guitar. It's easier to play and the action on it is a whole lot better. Love my strat
this guiitar is all i need to play a good show. to me this guitar started it all for me. i hade a very hard time finding the right left handed guitar for me and later i found this. i have been playing for 7 years now and to day this is my #1 guitar so dont just stand there, go, leave, buy one
I bought this this guitar because it's a strat and beacause it was the only left handed one I could find. I was very happy with the sound it offers and for the price it couldn't get any better.
