This guitar truly illustrates how versatile Fender is of a guitar brand. It's not often you see a guitar brand that can consistently make new guitars that appeal to almost every guitarist playing any genre, but Fender is one of those brands. The Jim Root Stratocaster is fantastic, allowing the player to get heavy distorted sounds with the highly rated EMG pickups. The guitar sounds great on any effect the player wants. The looks of the guitar are obviously beautiful, with the ebony fretboard, black pick guard and body, and white headstock with black tuning pegs, the guitar is a masterpiece. I would highly recommend this guitar to any hard rock/metal player, it looks fantastic, sounds fantastic, and is totally worth the money!
Straight away let me say this guitar would garner 5 stars if not for the headstock. My guess is that owners of this axe are frequently asked; "is that a Highway One?" That aside this guitar comes at you like an 18 wheeler full throttle down the interstate. It's made to be played loud. I placed it on a flat surface just to see if the strings touched the fingerboard - the action is that close. And all you need to know about its heavenly growl is that it has only one knob - volume. If you enjoy turning up to plate glass shattering decibels and want tonal quality to go along with that volume this is the axe for you.
