Nothing but WOW

Comments about Fender Jazzmaster Ultralight Amp Head:

My friends chipped in and got me this for my 4-0 and I couldn't be happier. Quite possibly the nicest & warmest clean sound Ive heard from a solidstate amp. Dont let the JAZZ in the title fool you, a bit of tweaking get you some gnarly metal tones as well. Its also LOUD with the 112 enclosure (recommended as its 2ohms with a speakon cable). For practice at home I have it just past "1". I cant wait to get it into the studio or on a stage. The built-in effects are switchable (separate settings for each channel, too). Chorus, flange, echo & reverb.. all sound smooth as silk. My only gripe is I dont need the 2nd channel to be 'dirty'. I find a 2nd clean channel more useful, so I can switch off and use different chorus/flange/reverb/echo effects. Also note that this is only available online or through special order.. no walk-ins at GC.. my buds had to go through a few hoops to get one to me in time for a pre-birthday show (little did they know it had a speakon output and we didnt have an adapter) and I had to special order the matching cab through my local shop. At 7 lbs, You can carry the head in your gear bag (or its own bag) and with the cab being 16lbs in one hand, guitar in the other.. you can carry a the whole setup by yourself on a NYC train (not recommended.. but you could). If you see one, give it a try.

Best Of The Best

Comments about Fender Jazzmaster Ultralight Amp Head:

I am professional musician for well over 25 yrs and have owned all types of amps, combos, stacks, tube and solid state through the years. I first learned about this amp when I saw a friend performing at a nite club. The whole nite I kept looking to see where and what he was using to get such an incredible tone. At the end of the nite I approached him and inquired what he was using... picking up the head with two fingers and the 1x12 cabinet with his other hand using 2 fingers he said this was the culprit. After drooling over how this 250watt beauty had built in effects, 2 channel design, clean direct out, light weight and compact. I immediately sold my amp(and a gang of effect pedals) the next day and purchased the Jazzmaster Ultralight. I was even more impressed with how well it adapted to different styles of music that I play. It handled funk, rock, jazz, blues, pop, and other styles I play with excellent results. I will never need another amp again and I have played every venue imaginable from small clubs to large arenas. This amp is a beast leaving countless sound men scratching their heads as to how something so small kicked out sounds that rival monster stacks.

Remarkable Amp

By Garry Renfro

Comments about Fender Jazzmaster Ultralight Amp Head:

I have been using this amp for the past five years as both a guitar amp and an impromptu PA. The amp has a lovely voice; clean and transparent, but subtly Fender. It delivers the tone nuances of different guitars better than any of my other amps. The one criteria I have for any piece of gear is that it be inspirational and make me want to play it and use it for composing. This has become my go-to amp when composing or arranging. I find the drive channel quite useful as a second clean channel with the gain set 0 to very low. It has a different voice, giving the amp three different basic tones. I think the effects are perfect for jazz and pop music, capable being restrained and subtle, without coloring the tone. My only concern is that here is some slight background noise on the clean channel when the volume is turned up about 75%, but is not noticeable while playing. As noted by the other reviewers, this amp can get you to a Mike Stern sound and rock the house if you need. I am surprised that the amp hasn't sold more successfully. It is competitive in price, features, and sound with similar products. Of course, I am a long-time Fender fan and a bit prejudiced, but wouldn't recommend this product if I didn't find it professional and inspiring.I don't think Fender has marketed it aggressively enough.
