I continue to be impressed with this amp. Another gig last night playing Everything from Beatles to Bad Company to Stones to Skynyrd with a Fat Strat and it kicks butt. Those mids that sound overpowering at home are perfect for a live band situation. Add a compressor, and a Blues Driver and a little delay for some songs and you are there. You dont need reverb!
This amp gives you a fat sound that is still bright enough and has plenty of low end. Leave it on the floor and dont tilt it, its fine as is.

I have been returning and exchanging these amps for 3 weeks to try and get one without quality or manufacturing defects, and I just returned my 5th amp. Each one has had issues that make them un-useable. From horrible hiss and buzz, to a volume knob that wont turn off the sound. This is a bad ratio of quality problems and makes me wonder about Fender quality control. Guitar Center has been great to deal with, my emails to Fender go unanswered. This would be a killer little amp if I could get one that would operate and play as it's supposed to. Good luck with yours!

Comments about Fender Hot Rod Series Pro Junior III 15W 1x10 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

Nice portable amp for a seasoned ( older) musician like myself .Very clear with lots of midrange that cuts through a live stage mix. Lighter weight than my Blues Jr. or Mustang 3 that i've been using for live country/rock/blues music. I usually add Boss reverb, delay, distortion, chorus so I can play everything from waltzes to old time rock. But mostly.............it's a high quality LIGHT WEIGHT amp that my back loves and sounds great with plenty of volume for small to medium gigs (I gig 2-3 times/ week). Fender does it again!

Comments about Fender Hot Rod Series Pro Junior III 15W 1x10 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

It's light, it's loud, it sounds great. When I say loud my band mates have told me to turn down with the volume set at 2. I've played bar open mic's and jam sessions and it keeps up with all the other volumes that are jamming. For gigs put a mike in front of it and you are good to go. It works great with pedals.
I play classic rock and blues and tube amps are the only way to go. I have 3 tube amps and this is my main amp I gig with in my band, The Hallelujah Blues Band, you can check us out on the internet.

Just a twenty buck cover and it fits. Good strong material and looks great on the amp. Nice logo printed on the cover just in case one may be wondering if it's an amp or a sewing machine.

Pro Jr III in Gray Tweed

Comments about Fender Hot Rod Series Pro Junior III 15W 1x10 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

In my humble opinion, this is one amp every guitarist should have. I had a Pro Jr I, about 5 years ago, and it sounded great, but I just had to (in my mind) get a higher wattage amp, so I sold it and tried other amps - I have had the Super Sonic 22, 60 and Twin, and a Re-issue Twin, and a Re-Issue Super Reverb, and a Vibro King, and after all that I wanted to try out this little 15 watt Pro Jr, and I am totally happy with the sound. I run a tube screamer (mini), and a delay (i haven't tried a reverb yet), and it gives me everything I need right now for rehearsal and recording. The sound I hear coming out of it is reminiscent of all the famous guitar lines you hear on so many hits - the sound is just pure and simple, clean or dirty if you want, just dial it in. Think about it, if you have a 60 watt amp through 4 10" speakers, each speaker is getting 15 watts - this Pro Jr. is just the scaled down version of a great thing. It may even be better, because you'll save your hearing - something we should all be trying to preserve. (note: this is a new review, look at the dates on those other reviews). Just get one!

Comments about Fender Hot Rod Series Pro Junior III 15W 1x10 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

I bought this used. It sounds good and works with pedals well. Simple little tube amp. Nice....but the plastic input jack threads stripped out and since its soldiered directly to the circuit board, plugging and unplugging the cord could cause major damage. The design of the circuit board makes it nearly impossible to install a new input. So the cost of having it done by a certified electrician costs more than the amp is worth. Come on Fender. An input jack is kinda important. Do you really need to use brittle plastic? I believe the term is called "built-in obsolescence."

Comments about Fender Hot Rod Series Pro Junior III 15W 1x10 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

This is a great gigging amp. I use a Gibson Les Paul Studio, a Boss OD and a Crybaby and I'm set. I also have a HSS Strat that I use occasionally...both sound great. I have two of these amps that I purchased used and have had NO problems. I run the tone almost wide open, and the volume around 4 or 5 and use the OD for "grit". Plenty loud and full sounding...love it!

I purchased one of the "new" pro jr III models used...I REALLY like it...love the natural midrange warmth. No hum issues with mine except at bars with wiring that is...well...let's say: not quite up to code...ANY amp hums at those places!

Bottom line: if you don't want yours, I'll take it.
