There seems to be some confusion about Highway Ones. These guitars are American, and they play nearly identical to their American Standard counterparts. They merely lack the ridiculous lacquer coating. The satin finish is beautiful (I picked Midnight Wine with Maple), and the AlNiCo pickups are, in my opinion, much stronger than the ones offered on the American Deluxe. The neck pickup sounds fantastic for rhythm. If you want to rock, this is the Telecaster you want. Fender has discontinued these puppies, so buy one while you have the chance.

Will evoke Tele-envy from other guitarists.

By Rhodes

Comments about Fender Highway One Series Telecaster Electric Guitar:

This guitar is my new favorite. I had been playing an old Les Paul for years, but wanted to pick up an American Telecaster for country, chicken pickin' and that traditional Fender sound. We play everything from Johnny Cash to the Stones to Delta Blues and it never disappoints. This tele screams and cuts like a knife. It's an excellent deal - I actually prefer it without the frills and the fancy finish. I've been surprised by how many of my gearhear friends have developed tele-envy.

Solid Buy!

By adambo1

Comments about Fender Highway One Series Telecaster Electric Guitar:

I always wanted a tele because of the nice, twangy, bright, and clear tone it has. The fretboard is very comfortable and the guitar has many different tonal sides. It can be a nice, clean, twangy guitar or a real low, heavy, crunchy monster! Highly recommend this guitar as a buy if you're in the market and not sure if this is the guitar for you!

OH MY GOSH!

By Riki Guitar

from St. Louis, MO

Comments about Fender Highway One Series Telecaster Electric Guitar:

I just got this guitar yesterday and I'm very impressed! I've played Teles before and have always liked them, but this Highway One Tele is awesome. I was a little worried about intonation problems with the 3 saddle bridge, but it checked out perfectly. This guitar has way more "guts" than the other Teles I've owned. The action is smooth, the varieties of tones are incredible. It also seems as if Fender finally put the 2 pickups out of phase, although I'm not sure, but in the middle pickup postion the hum is pretty much gone. The alnico pickups are definitely way hotter than other Tele pickups I've experienced and the microphonic hum that I experienced with other Teles is not there. (Thank You Fender!) I've run it through my Marshall half stack and my Hot Rod Deville 2X12 and it sounds fantastic on either amp. I would recommend getting a hard shell case for it as the gig bags won't be enough to protect this investment. All in all, this the BEST Tele I have ever owned. I will ALWAYS cherish and keep it safe! Thanks to Chuck at the Bridgeton, MO store for allowing me the space to make my selection!

Fender Highway 1 Tele - Great Tone for the Price

By Gitfiddler

from Waldorf, MD

Comments about Fender Highway One Series Telecaster Electric Guitar:

I purchased this guitar (Honey Blonde w/ maple neck) maybe eight months ago, and I've enjoyed every minute playing it. I've played various guitars over the last 20 years, and when I decided to add a Tele it was only after playing numerous other strat style in search of a specifically bluesy, jazzy sound. What I liked most about the Highway 1 Tele was the "American-made" telecaster tone for a very reasonable price. I admit the Highway 1 model Tele is limited in features - it's a rather plain looking guitar; but what it lacks in looks it more than makes up for in tone. The greasebucket electronics and alnico pickups are first-rate for achieving a solid blues, country, rock or deep jazz tone and the neck is as fast and smooth as you want to play. If achieving exceptional tone without paying a hefty price is the goal, you should consider this guitar.

Beautiful!!!!

Comments about Fender Highway One Series Telecaster Electric Guitar:

I got the honey blonde w/ maple fretboard for my birthday this week. Everything about it is awesome! Tones are great sounding from every pickup possission on clean and w/ overdrive. And another great thing is that the tones don't get muddy when you turn the tone knob all the way. Really plays like butter. Has great twang, but not so it sounds so country. This guitar is great for all styles. I also love the range from the high trebley bridge pickup, from the warmness of the neck pickup. If you want an American Tele that won't break the bank, get this guitar

my favorite tele

Comments about Fender Highway One Series Telecaster Electric Guitar:

i got this with christmas money i had saved up and was blown away by the sound quality. You can get the tele twang or a lower end warmer sound with it. Old zeppelin stuff and punk sounds great on it. It sounds amazingly clear through distortion and gain.

Sweet guitar

By Guitarslinger

from Weeki Wachee, FL

Comments about Fender Highway One Series Telecaster Electric Guitar:

I had a friend that owned this guitar with a maple neck and the sunburst finish, and have had the opportunity to play it several times. First of all, the neck played beautifully, and the action was at a perfect height. The pickups had a very nice tone, especially the neck pickup. The finish was beautiful, and the guitar was very well put together. Overall a very nice guitar, and I highly recommend it to any Tele fanatic.

Comments about Fender Highway One Series Telecaster Electric Guitar:

I've had this guitar for about a year now and I've had no trouble with it. It's not a metal guitar, but you can play some early AC/DC riffs on it. If your a big Rolling stones fan then your gonna really like this guitar.
