There seems to be some confusion about Highway Ones. These guitars are American, and they play nearly identical to their American Standard counterparts. They merely lack the ridiculous lacquer coating. The satin finish is beautiful (I picked Midnight Wine with Maple), and the AlNiCo pickups are, in my opinion, much stronger than the ones offered on the American Deluxe. The neck pickup sounds fantastic for rhythm. If you want to rock, this is the Telecaster you want. Fender has discontinued these puppies, so buy one while you have the chance.

Will evoke Tele-envy from other guitarists.

By Rhodes

Comments about Fender Highway One Series Telecaster Electric Guitar:

This guitar is my new favorite. I had been playing an old Les Paul for years, but wanted to pick up an American Telecaster for country, chicken pickin' and that traditional Fender sound. We play everything from Johnny Cash to the Stones to Delta Blues and it never disappoints. This tele screams and cuts like a knife. It's an excellent deal - I actually prefer it without the frills and the fancy finish. I've been surprised by how many of my gearhear friends have developed tele-envy.

Solid Buy!

By adambo1

Comments about Fender Highway One Series Telecaster Electric Guitar:

I always wanted a tele because of the nice, twangy, bright, and clear tone it has. The fretboard is very comfortable and the guitar has many different tonal sides. It can be a nice, clean, twangy guitar or a real low, heavy, crunchy monster! Highly recommend this guitar as a buy if you're in the market and not sure if this is the guitar for you!

OH MY GOSH!

By Riki Guitar

from St. Louis, MO

Comments about Fender Highway One Series Telecaster Electric Guitar:

I just got this guitar yesterday and I'm very impressed! I've played Teles before and have always liked them, but this Highway One Tele is awesome. I was a little worried about intonation problems with the 3 saddle bridge, but it checked out perfectly. This guitar has way more "guts" than the other Teles I've owned. The action is smooth, the varieties of tones are incredible. It also seems as if Fender finally put the 2 pickups out of phase, although I'm not sure, but in the middle pickup postion the hum is pretty much gone. The alnico pickups are definitely way hotter than other Tele pickups I've experienced and the microphonic hum that I experienced with other Teles is not there. (Thank You Fender!) I've run it through my Marshall half stack and my Hot Rod Deville 2X12 and it sounds fantastic on either amp. I would recommend getting a hard shell case for it as the gig bags won't be enough to protect this investment. All in all, this the BEST Tele I have ever owned. I will ALWAYS cherish and keep it safe! Thanks to Chuck at the Bridgeton, MO store for allowing me the space to make my selection!

Fender Highway 1 Tele - Great Tone for the Price

By Gitfiddler

from Waldorf, MD

Comments about Fender Highway One Series Telecaster Electric Guitar:

I purchased this guitar (Honey Blonde w/ maple neck) maybe eight months ago, and I've enjoyed every minute playing it. I've played various guitars over the last 20 years, and when I decided to add a Tele it was only after playing numerous other strat style in search of a specifically bluesy, jazzy sound. What I liked most about the Highway 1 Tele was the "American-made" telecaster tone for a very reasonable price. I admit the Highway 1 model Tele is limited in features - it's a rather plain looking guitar; but what it lacks in looks it more than makes up for in tone. The greasebucket electronics and alnico pickups are first-rate for achieving a solid blues, country, rock or deep jazz tone and the neck is as fast and smooth as you want to play. If achieving exceptional tone without paying a hefty price is the goal, you should consider this guitar.

Beautiful!!!!

Comments about Fender Highway One Series Telecaster Electric Guitar:

I got the honey blonde w/ maple fretboard for my birthday this week. Everything about it is awesome! Tones are great sounding from every pickup possission on clean and w/ overdrive. And another great thing is that the tones don't get muddy when you turn the tone knob all the way. Really plays like butter. Has great twang, but not so it sounds so country. This guitar is great for all styles. I also love the range from the high trebley bridge pickup, from the warmness of the neck pickup. If you want an American Tele that won't break the bank, get this guitar

Comments about Fender Highway One Series Telecaster Electric Guitar:

i got this with christmas money i had saved up and was blown away by the sound quality. You can get the tele twang or a lower end warmer sound with it. Old zeppelin stuff and punk sounds great on it. It sounds amazingly clear through distortion and gain.

Sweet guitar

By Guitarslinger

from Weeki Wachee, FL

Comments about Fender Highway One Series Telecaster Electric Guitar:

I had a friend that owned this guitar with a maple neck and the sunburst finish, and have had the opportunity to play it several times. First of all, the neck played beautifully, and the action was at a perfect height. The pickups had a very nice tone, especially the neck pickup. The finish was beautiful, and the guitar was very well put together. Overall a very nice guitar, and I highly recommend it to any Tele fanatic.

Comments about Fender Highway One Series Telecaster Electric Guitar:

I've had this guitar for about a year now and I've had no trouble with it. It's not a metal guitar, but you can play some early AC/DC riffs on it. If your a big Rolling stones fan then your gonna really like this guitar.

Really,Really nice!

By GTR-TECH

Comments about Fender Highway One Series Telecaster Electric Guitar:

I may have gotten one of the first year of these to be sold. NIFTY! I still don't like the frets. Way too jazz. NOT jumbos. I love blues and really love to bend, still, after adjusting the neck FLAT I was not displeased with with the overall playability of this gem. The reality is, once this axe has been profesionally set up I have never seen one player, regardless of experience, unhappy with the results. You'll like it. One note: This neck is FAST!

An amazing guitar..

By brian

from Indianapolis, IN

Comments about Fender Highway One Series Telecaster Electric Guitar:

From the second I picked this thing up, it just felt like quality. I went to GC and played all kinds of different Fenders to find that "perfect" one, and once I started playing this one I couldn't put it down. The tones you can get are amazing, from a great classic rock tone to warm blues, anything is possible. I played strats, higher priced teles, and everything else and this really stood above the rest. It's built like a tank and the finish looks amazing. It does scratch really easy, but why pay more for a "relic" when you can do it yourself. This is built to last and the tone is amazing. I highly recommend it.

This Tele Rocks!

By BigMuffForPresident

from Brooklyn, NY

Comments about Fender Highway One Series Telecaster Electric Guitar:

I am in love with my Telecaster Highway One. The light nitro finish lets you see the natural grain of the wood(really lovely). Its sustain is different from other Teles,a bit deeper and less "chimey". The pickups are also on the darker side of most other Teles, which I frickn' love! If you are a chicken picker this might not be your axe, but if you want to rock THIS IS YOUR TELE! It sounds great distorted or clean. Mine needed a set-up, but heck, what guitar doesn't?!? I also opted for compensated brass saddles over the stock steel after playing it for a year or so. I recommend this upgrade highly, but its a great guitar at any price.

Worth Every Penny

By Rusty Shackleford

from Los Angeles

Comments about Fender Highway One Series Telecaster Electric Guitar:

I got this a couple weeks ago. I was considering getting a MIM Tele but after trying this Tele I had to have it. The finish is beautiful. I got mine in honey blonde. The neck is extremely comfortable and fast. The pickups are hot but still have all the classic Tele tone. I might switch out the bridge pickup with a Seymour Duncan Hot rails though. The neck pick up is incredibly smooth and warm. It's perfect for playing blues, especially if you are using a tube amp. Pretty much, this guitar will handle any type of music you throw at it. It's the best deal you can get for an American Tele. You will not be disappointed.

INCREDIBLE

By Carson

Comments about Fender Highway One Series Telecaster Electric Guitar:

I have been playing guitar for 10 years, haveht owned 17 guitars, and played several gigs. I have resented Fender guitars from the day I started playing only because I wanted to play something different. I bought this guitar a week ago and have not stopped playing it! Its fretboard is fast and its tone is smooth The only thing i changed was the pick guard. I bought the midnight wine so i thought it would look better with a black pick guard. Its a beautiful guitar and i would recommend it to anyone who plays guitar!

Rockin' The Blues

By Goldtop26

from Phoenix , Az

Comments about Fender Highway One Series Telecaster Electric Guitar:

My physics teacher owns this guitar but he has a few upgrades like a 60th anniversary neck,a vintage '52 like pickup in the bridge, and a vintage white finish which they no longer offer. It's an amazing guitar and has a lightning fast fretboard. Despite the newer more metalish music I play blues, jazz and classic rock (I am only 14) and this guitar supplies in all wanted genres. The neck pickup is real smooth and adds a real vintage tone to your sound but still mantains that bite when you need it to. Overall, it's a great guitar and stands at a remarkable price. Totally worthwhile. P.S. This tele looks way better with a maple neck.

TeleMaster

By ZacIsSoldTOhisTELE

from wylie, Texas

Comments about Fender Highway One Series Telecaster Electric Guitar:

A guitar that inspires. I used to own a three-tone sunburst model with rosewood fretboard back in 2004 (before greasbucket came stock). Selling this guitar was the stupidest thing I've ever done. The satin finish and three saddle bridge gave the impression that it was plucked right out of the 50's. This guitar had more balls than the standard and just looked a lot cooler when placed side by side with one (not doggin' the standard...it's got a whole different game goin' on..different tone and attitude). The sound was piercing; twangy and bright, but had enough crunch to make palm muting and upscale riffs sound fantastic. After owning a Epi Zakk wylde signature paul, a Gibby SG special, Explorer, and lastly, a Les Paul deluxe...I found myself wanting to go back to the ways of the Tele. So I sold the zakk and Explorer, then purchased a three-tone American Tele with rosewood fretboard (was gonna get another highway 1, but I got a little more cash than expected...so I went all the way!). Dude, whatever. Standards, Highway 1's, Americans, or Deluxes... They all share the same core principles of tone in the Tele Category.... ...crisp, soulful, bright, brilliat tone with sustain that can go on forever. ....THEY ALL KICK SOME MAJOR TAIL IN MY BOOK!

excellent choice

By Voodoorock

from Oregon

Comments about Fender Highway One Series Telecaster Electric Guitar:

I have played more guitars than I can remember and own several including a Les Paul and American Deluxe Strat , and while I have always enjoyed the Teles everytime I have picked them up I never bought one until last year. I got the Highway One in the 3 tone and it has become one of my best friends. The neck is as sweet as they come , and while most people do not think of the Tele as a rock and roll staple , I'm telling this one is. I play everything from oldies to classic rock to heavy metal and I can get the sound I want for all of them with guitar and my Marshal stack. It has never let me down. An American made Fender at this price with its looks and playability is an incredible value. Buy it , love it , treat it right , it will give it back to ya.

Amazing tone!

By ShreddyKrugger

Comments about Fender Highway One Series Telecaster Electric Guitar:

Ever since I've purchased this guitar, I haven't put it down. I play through a line 6 flextone 2 head with a Crate cab and I get an excellent sound. Also I recommend playing through any Marshall amp with this guitar. My favorite quality about this guitar is simply the fact of no jumbo frets. So it feels just like my Gibson Les Paul.
